- LaLisa, BTS's V, And Actor Park Bo Gum Grace Celine's Fashion Show In Paris
#lalisa #btsv #parkbogum Hallyu has officially taken over the global fashion scene! Blackpink's Lisa , BTS's V , and actor Park Bo Gum were all seen at the Celine men's Spring-Summer 2023 collection show during Paris' Men's Fashion Week. The trio attended the show on June 26 as representatives of South Korea. It was reported that BTS's V aka Kim Tae Hyung and actor Park Bo Gum were personally invited by Celine's creative director, Hedi Slimane. Blackpink's Lisa, as we all know, was named Celine's global ambassador in 2020. BTS' V wore a sequined polo neck tee which he paired with leather pants and a red leather jacket that he left open. He flaunted his love for OTT jewelry with a tasseled neckpiece, which man fans claimed: "ruined his look". He wore his soft wavy locks and opted for a natural look. Lisa never fails to amaze as she was spotted with a backless and sleeveless turtleneck top, alongside black shorts. Her bag, boots, and belt, all adopted black hues, creating a ton sur ton look. In addition, Lisa also wore a Western makeup style and layered platinum hair, making her super eye-catching. Park Bo Gum opted to go with the same necklace as his best friend, V, as the actor chose a turtleneck, long blazer, and leather pants all in black. However, many critics stated that his outfit "wasn't groundbreaking enough". It was a sight to behold as the trio attracted an unprecedented crowd, never seen as many fans attended a Celine fashion show. Check out Lisa posing for pictures! What did you think about this event? Thai fans, are you proud of Lisa becoming such a global superstar? Let us know your thoughts!
- Is the K-pop market oversaturated? [Discussion with your help!]
With so many different K-pop groups popping up left right and center, is the K-pop market too saturated for any sort of global and domestic following and success? Of course, with the advancements in technology, and it being easier than ever to make music, is the K-pop industry in 2024 oversaturated with artists? Are people becoming bored of too many of the same groups? These are all questions that the industry has started to ask itself. The answer from us at Dojeon Media is a resounding, "Yes!" The industry is oversaturated! It is more challenging for K-pop groups under smaller labels or companies to achieve the level of success that was once possible for BTS, especially in the VERY competitive industry that has become the K-pop industry. Of course, BTS's success story is quite extraordinary in itself. However, smaller groups can make a mark in the industry. It often requires a combination of talent, hard work, strategic marketing, timing, and luck. Additionally, with the rise of social media and digital platforms, there are more avenues for exposure and fan engagement, which can benefit smaller groups in gaining visibility and building a dedicated fanbase. For us, many of the "groups" have too many members for a start, and it really takes the focus off of individual members, which as a result can make it harder for them to pursue solo careers after the band breaks up, as they are simply overshadowed and as a result forgotten about. The dance routines although good, tend to be the same and the style of lyrics and use of autotune in our humble opinion, is overused. Not to mention songs are released too often (around every 6 months) Will any K-pop groups be remembered in the future other than BTS or Blackpink ? The oversaturation of groups in the K-pop industry has propelled the genre into a new dark age that normalizes disbandments and fluctuating microtrends. For those familiar with the K-pop scene, it is unsurprising to hear a new group debut every few months or so. In fact, over sixty groups and sub-units debuted in the last year alone, however, only a select few have remained relevant in general K-pop banter, such as LIGHTSUM, Billlie, MIRAE, OMEGA X, PURPLE KISS , and Xdinary Heroes. Although these groups may have released amazing music, the competition for popularity has drowned out the possibility of other, more underrated groups ever reaching the same fame. This is all thanks to the unfortunate oversaturation of K-pop groups. Let us know in the comments below if you think the K-pop industry is becoming/is oversaturated! #kpop #kpopculture #kpopfans
- 2026 Is Shaping Up To Be One of the Biggest Years in K-Pop History—From BTS and BLACKPINK to BIGBANG and EXO!
It’s their first major group activity in years, so expectations are sky-high from BLINKs worldwide.
- Take the BLACKPINK Hallyu tour with us!
BLACKPINK is one of the biggest and most successful K-pop groups to come out of Korea, and one of the bands that Dojeon team member, Lewis, believes to have started the Korean Wave ( Hallyu ). Follow Lewis as he tours Seoul, BLACKPINK style! Stop 1: YG Entertainment Building Hapjeong-dong is already the hot spot amongst the younger generation but is also famous for YG Entertainment’s new building, which BLACKPINK is part of! Taking an entertainment-building tour is A MUST for all K-pop fans, including myself, when I have been to the area before. During the fan tour, it’s impossible to overlook the new YG building where the most popular group BLACKPINK belonged. The YG building is easy to spot and there is an MD shop in the basement of the café building where you can purchase official merchandise! If you are a fan of the girl group, then this is a must-do when you are in Seoul! Not only does the space make the YG fans’ hearts flutter but they also have delicious desserts. Make sure you are enjoying a donut, the signature dessert from The sameE , as you take a look around the YG building! Unfortunately, I have yet to see BLACKPINK when I have been in Seoul, though I continue to hold out hope! Stop 2: Pottery Cafe Jool If you remember during BLACKPINK’s reality show "24/365 with BLACKPINK" which was uploaded on BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Rosé went on a pottery date. Cafe Jool located in Donggyo-dong is where BLACKPINK visited. Many people come alone, so if you need to take time to heal during your busy daily life, try pottery making as a special event for yourself! Not only does it relieve your stress as you fully focus on your pottery creation, but it also gives you the benefit of taking home a unique gift that can’t be found elsewhere. For me, I have tried making pottery before, and I have to say it was so much fun, and although I found it difficult, it was fairly relaxing! Stop 3: Rakkojae, the Hanok Hotel Rakkojae, the Hanok Hotel is where BLACKPINK had a photo shoot back in 2020. 2020 was when I came to Korea, and the Hanok Hotel is a place that I have been to before. It is very photogenetic and traditional, and I really recommend that you visit here on your BLACKPINK tour of Seoul! The Rakkojae is located in the Bukchon Hanok Village , where this amazing photoshoot took place. Rakkojae, located in the middle of a quiet Hanok alley that seems unimaginable in Seoul, has starred in the MICHELIN guide. It is a Hanok hotel that perfectly portrays the alluring beauty of Korea. If you want to take a break from your everyday routine and experience a time in the beautiful past, head over to Rakkojae. Add some fun by taking your photo shoot at the same place where BLACKPINK took theirs! Let us know if you have been to any of the locations on the tour, and tag us in your photos if you have! #BLACKPINK #seoultour #bukchonhanokvillage #jisoo #rose #jennie

- Legends Never Fade: The K-Pop Groups We Must Not Forget
Honoring the bands that paved the way, defied the charts, and built the global stage we love today. We cover the top groups that left a lasting legacy, and which ones might be forgotten. Did we leave any groups out? K-pops hottest groups! Credit: https://www.byeolkorea.com/ The Unsung Icons of K-Pop In this article, the Dojeon team is going to take a deep dive into some groups that continue to dominate the daily charts, while others have built a legacy through sheer talent and a global bond that transcends rankings. It’s time we give flowers to the bands that continue to define the genre’s depth and diversity. Understanding the 7 Tiers of K-Pop The K-pop industry is often ranked into seven levels of popularity, ranging from the world-dominating "S-Tier" (like BTS and Blackpink ) down to the "Nugu" groups fighting for a debut. Most of the artists that we have come to love and support, often for their unique concepts, like Dreamcatcher or WJSN, reside in the high "Mid-Tier," where they have huge talent but lack the "Big 4" company push. Defying the Genre Norms Dreamcatcher stands out thanks to their signature rock and metal-infused sounds! They are mainly known for having a bold, standout sound and image from the typical "bubbly" pop found on domestic charts. Dreamcatcher is often overlooked in Korea because their dark, supernatural concepts appeal more to Western rock fans than the mainstream domestic audience. Could 2026 and the shift of the K-pop industry welcome more mainstream music from this incredible band? The Cost of Complexity LOONA changed the game with an intricate "Loonaverse" lore and a high-budget pre-debut project that built a massive, cult-like international following. Ever since this mind-blowing success, legal battles and long gaps between releases have sadly caused them to lose momentum at home. This has unfortunately made it easy for casual listeners to lose track of their brilliance. What is your favorite track from LOONA? Navigating the Crowded Market Next up is WJSN (Cosmic Girls). The Dojeon team has spoken out about the crowded K-pop market and how difficult it is for bands to navigate and stand out. Sadly, this is the case for WJSN. In the past, they have been celebrated for their elegant, ethereal concepts and synchronized choreography that truly feels "out of this world." However, despite their high-quality discography, they often get lost in the shuffle of "Big 4" company debuts. This has proved how hard it is for mid-tier groups to maintain a permanent spot in the spotlight. Will you start streaming their music to get them more views and revenue? The Price of Independence Despite their massive global hits, NewJeans faced a turbulent period of hiatus and line-up shifts due to intense legal disputes with their label. The Dojeon team has followed this rollercoaster of a journey every step of the way. Sadly, they are at risk of being forgotten by the industry, not because of talent, but because corporate battles can often overshadow the music itself. With this scandal still ongoing, we wonder what 2026 will bring for them. The Power of Fandom For K-pop groups, having a strong fan base is key, especially when it comes to loyalty. Fan bases are known for keeping artists' music alive, and with social media, any news is simply good news, as it keeps artists relevant! Sadly, without this unwavering support, many of the industry's most creative moments would have gone unnoticed. Final thoughts We believe that popularity comes and goes; however, the impact from some of these K-pop acts is permanent. We want to continue to make sure that these talented artists remain part of the conversation when it comes to all things K-pop! Will 2026 bring more success for some of these incredible artists? Which K-pop act from this article surprised you the most? - K-Idol Romance Scandals That Have Shocked Korea This Year!
From secret dates to industry chaos, here are the K-pop idol scandals that shook the year! Image: K-pop Romance Scandals - Photo: You Tube In any industry, there are always scandalous activities; however, when you are in the public eye, you have to be more careful and discreet with your moves. This has not been the case for some of these big-name K-idols! First up, ALLDAY PROJECT's Woochan and Youngseo Dating Rumors This scandal focuses on the rumors that went viral this year, all thanks to Woochan and Youngseo , who are both members of ALLDAY PROJECT. In fact, the speculation went viral across social media channels, thanks to some fan footage which centered on 'fan service', which has since caused a massive debate among fans. The video footage showed an Eyesmag chat promotional event. It featured Woochan and Youngseo, who were both engaging in a prolonged staring contest or a moment of intense eye contact. Fans noted their "soft smiles", "quick blushes", and undeniable chemistry, interpreting the interaction as evidence of a romantic connection beyond mere friendship. Could this be one of the first open K-idol couples? The controversy highlights the intense scrutiny and high fan expectations placed on idols, particularly within co-ed group dynamics, and the hush hush same sex couple culture in conservative Korea. MADEIN Agency Scandal, which appeared to be more than just romance This all-singing and dancing K-pop girl group MADIEN and their entertainment agency 143 Entertainment have both faced a major scandal at the end of 2024, and in early 2025, which literally shocked K-pop fans worldwide, along with the Korean nation. The scandal was not a romance scandal; however, it was a scandal involving serious allegations of sexual assault by the agency's CEO against a former band member, Gaeun , who at the time was classified as a minor. This sickening act meant that the rest of the group also faced backlash due to their handling of the bad situation, and the fact that they refused an old blog post of a former member during the controversy. What do you think about this? The Dojeon team believes that the rest of the group should not have got caught up in this, however considering how much time idol training groups spend together, we are sure that they had an idea about what might have been going on, and as a result they should have stood up for their fellow band member during this horrendous time, this just goes to show the amount of influence that entertainment labels have over their artists. Kim Soo-hyun & Kim Sae-ron - The Underage Grooming Scandal This is one of the scandals that the Dojeon team has written about several times, due to the outrage within his fan group and the Korean public. This controversy came about after the late passing of Kim Sae-ron back in February this year, when it was widely publicized that he was dating the late actress while she was underage, which has since had catastrophic implications on his career, since he is now a part of the cancel culture . It also came about that a friend of the late star publicly accused Kim Soo-hyun, stating that he was seventy percent responsible for the emotional decline in Sae-ron's mental state before her death. It really does say something when your close friends turn on you. Nevertheless, Kim Soo-hyun's agency decided to deny the claims, and as a result, the fallout from the allegations became a major national scandal with divided opinions. The power balance between the two stars and the age difference is, for sure, one that is intense and could stem from the pressures of the celebrity culture in Korea. Final thoughts: Breakups and industry pressure The Dojeon team believes that idol dating rumors feed the media and keep the press and fans talking about these idols! We believe that the most impactful scandal this year is the one focusing on ALLDAY PROJECT, as it pays attention to the darker side of the Korean culture and entertainment industry, which is same sex relationships, which we have spoken about many times before. Having said that, a very concerning and sensitive scandal is the one in which Kim Soo-hyun found himself. Whether or not his actions were reciprocated, being in the public eye, he should not have engaged in those activities, and he has paid the price. Once the face of supermarket chain Home Plus and the face of nearly every coffee shop, his face and brand endorsements have all but disappeared, so it is as if they never actually happened. Which scandal is the most juicy for you? Comment below and let the Dojeon team know! #KpopScandal2025 #IdolDatingRumors #KRomance #KpopNews #KpopControversy #ALLDAYPROJECT

- Blackpink In Lyric Jail!
#blackpink #pinkvenom #kpop Blackpink is on the cusp of dominating the world with its new single " Pink Venom "! With already over 262 million views watched on YouTube and performing at top American music award shows including last month's MTV's Video Music Awards , the global K-pop group has hit a snag in their home country. It was announced on September 5 that South Korean broadcasting network, KBS, has deemed the group's new single "Pink Venom" ineligible for their " Music Bank " chart. "Pink Venom" has not appeared on KBS 2's television program "K-chart" over the past month since its release. This has many fans questioning whether it is the problem with the lyrics in the song. Upon further inspection, it seems that the song has been deemed ineligible due to a reference to the luxury brand "Celine" mentioned in the lyrics. This is a violation of Article 46 of the Korean Broadcasting Act. Lisa is the one who mentions this brand during her rap: “This da life of a vandal, masked up and I’m still in Celine .” The four girls are the faces of multiple luxury brands: Jisoo with Dior, Lisa is the global ambassador for Celine and Bvlgari, Rosé's partnership with Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), and Jennie's Chanel and Calvin Klein collaboration. Blackpink is a marketing behemoth and fans doubt they are willing to drop partnerships with these fashion brands in order to make it on music charts. The fact that the group's agency, YG Entertainment , has decided not to re-submit the edited song lyrics without the brand name proves that being on KBS's "Music Bank" is not their priority. Meanwhile, Blackpink is gearing up for their second single " Shut Down " which is scheduled to be released on September 16 at 12 AM (EST)/ 1 PM (KST). Let us know your thoughts about this situation! Can "Music Bank" really make or break a group? Or is Blackpink's success far beyond what "Music Bank" can really contribute?
