Korean restaurants can offer savory dishes but South Korea can also offer mouth-watering and budget-friendly street foods that you shouldn't miss trying on your next visit. So here are
some of the Korean street foods that deserve some spot on your food list!

Hotteok (filled pancake)

Though pancakes are best served during breakfast, hotteok is best consumed as a snack. Its usual filling is made up of sugar, cinnamon, honey, and some nuts and is cooked in an oil-coated griddle. But hotteok comes with other flavors as well, like red beans and vegetables.
Eomuk (fishcake)

Also known as 'odeng', eomuk is made up of batter of fish meat mixed with starchy ingredients and vegetables. It is skewered and dunked in vegetable or seafood broth that enhances the flavor of eomuk. The broth can be sipped separately and is perfect during the frosty season.
Gyeran-ppang (Korean egg cake)

This warm street snack is a perfect combination of sweet and salty. The whole egg is stuffed inside the pancake batter, and the egg gives the right amount of saltiness that contrasts with the sweetness of the pancake. The history of gyeran-ppang traces back to 1984, when it was first made at the back gate of Inha University in Incheon. The hot and fluffy oval-shaped snack is a good option for those who are on the go.
TTeokbokki (stir-fried rice cake)

If you are looking for something sweet and spicy, you might want to try this local comfort food! Gochujang (red chili paste) is the primary taste enhancer of tteokbokki. Some tteokbokki stalls may also offer other options, such as melted cheese on top of the tteokbokki or other combinations, such as chicken or eggs.
