  • Is the K-pop market oversaturated? [Discussion with your help!]

With so many different K-pop groups popping up left right and center, is the K-pop market too saturated for any sort of global and domestic following and success? Of course, with the advancements in technology, and it being easier than ever to make music, is the K-pop industry in 2024 oversaturated with artists? Are people becoming bored of too many of the same groups? These are all questions that the industry has started to ask itself. The answer from us at Dojeon Media is a resounding, "Yes!" The industry is oversaturated! It is more challenging for K-pop groups under smaller labels or companies to achieve the level of success that was once possible for BTS, especially in the VERY competitive industry that has become the K-pop industry. Of course, BTS's success story is quite extraordinary in itself. However, smaller groups can make a mark in the industry. It often requires a combination of talent, hard work, strategic marketing, timing, and luck. Additionally, with the rise of social media and digital platforms, there are more avenues for exposure and fan engagement, which can benefit smaller groups in gaining visibility and building a dedicated fanbase. For us, many of the "groups" have too many members for a start, and it really takes the focus off of individual members, which as a result can make it harder for them to pursue solo careers after the band breaks up, as they are simply overshadowed and as a result forgotten about. The dance routines although good, tend to be the same and the style of lyrics and use of autotune in our humble opinion, is overused. Not to mention songs are released too often (around every 6 months) Will any K-pop groups be remembered in the future other than BTS or Blackpink ? The oversaturation of groups in the K-pop industry has propelled the genre into a new dark age that normalizes disbandments and fluctuating microtrends. For those familiar with the K-pop scene, it is unsurprising to hear a new group debut every few months or so. In fact, over sixty groups and sub-units debuted in the last year alone, however, only a select few have remained relevant in general K-pop banter, such as LIGHTSUM, Billlie, MIRAE, OMEGA X, PURPLE KISS , and Xdinary Heroes. Although these groups may have released amazing music, the competition for popularity has drowned out the possibility of other, more underrated groups ever reaching the same fame. This is all thanks to the unfortunate oversaturation of K-pop groups.  Let us know in the comments below if you think the K-pop industry is becoming/is oversaturated! #kpop #kpopculture #kpopfans

  • BTS Says ‘Namaste India’ on Google Gemini AI As Desi ARMYs Wonder if 2027 ARIRANG Tour Could Finally Reach India

Indian ARMYs have been waiting for one thing for years: BTS finally coming to India. Now, a new Google Gemini campaign has given fans something very interesting to talk about. BTS members were shown virtually exploring Mumbai, discussing local food and places, while also sending a warm message to their Indian fans. Naturally, the internet has one question: Is this just a fun AI campaign, or could it be a tiny hint of what’s coming next? BTS (EDU FACTZ Thumbnail/YouTube) There is no official confirmation that BTS will perform in India in 2027. But the timing of the campaign has definitely made fans wonder if India could finally be on the group’s radar. BTS virtually explores Mumbai, and Indian ARMYs are watching closely. From Mumbai Streets to an Indian Thali In the Google Gemini campaign, BTS members use the AI tool to imagine a day exploring Mumbai. The virtual itinerary includes places such as Khotachiwadi, followed by a look at local food, including an East Indian thali. The members also talk about India and its culture, making the whole segment feel much more personal than a random travel prompt. And then came the moment that really sent Indian ARMY into detective mode. The group greeted India with “Namaste India!”, while Jin spoke to fans in Hindi and said they had missed them. That small but very deliberate India-focused moment quickly got fans wondering whether BTS could be preparing for something bigger. For a country that has repeatedly asked for a BTS concert, seeing the members specifically explore Mumbai is obviously going to hit differently. Is BTS Setting the Stage for an India Concert? The 2027 theory is exciting, but it’s still just a theory. The speculation becomes even more interesting when viewed alongside BTS’ ongoing comeback and touring plans. Their current world tour runs into 2027, but India has not been included in the officially announced dates so far. BTS (Credits: Google) That means the Gemini campaign cannot be treated as confirmation of an India concert. Google and BTS have not announced a Mumbai show, and there is no official 2027 India date at this point. Still, the campaign has clearly put India front and center. BTS are not just appearing in a generic global advertisement; they are virtually planning a Mumbai day, talking about Indian culture and directly addressing Indian fans. For ARMYs, that is enough to keep the hope alive. So, Is an India Tour Actually Happening? Right now, we simply don't know. The Gemini campaign could be exactly what it looks like - a creative promotional experience. But after years of Indian fans hoping to see BTS live, the group's sudden India-focused content feels like a pretty interesting development. So, could 2027 finally be the year BTS lands in India? Maybe. Until HYBE or BTS officially announces an India stop, though, it remains a fan theory rather than a confirmed plan. For now, Indian ARMYs can enjoy the virtual Mumbai visit, while keeping their concert outfits very, very ready. #BTS #BTSSTORY #GEMINIAI #ARIRANGTOUR #RM #JIN #SUGA #JHOPE #JIMIN #V #JUNGKOOK #INDIANARMY
