Red Velvet fans were stunned and angry when a parking attendant/security guard yelled at Joy to turn around while attempting to greet her fans at the gate! Let's take a look at what happened and what led to this ridiculous incident!
On August 16, social media platforms were filled with #SBSRespectJoy as Red Velvet fans demanded that SBS apologize to Joy for an unusual incident. The incident occurred when Joy was attending a filming session at the SBS filming studios to film "Animal Farm". As Joy was walking toward fans that were waiting at the gate to greet her, a security guard began yelling at her in Banmal "반말" (impolite informal speech), "Why are you going out that way?! Move! Go back! Go back inside! Move back!". You can see this video here.
Here's how fans responded:
"This is so uncomfortable to watch! She just wants to see her fans! That’s just horrible and unacceptable and should be fired"
"He can't like tell her calmly? He's screaming like she's aggressively coming towards them"
"Is it really necessary to shout at her like that?"
Later, there was a linked post that stated the security guard apologized and was concerned for Joy's safety as well as the fans.
