This was a piece of very shocking news for her company, fellow members, and fans who adored her. This article will delve into the shocking news and explain the details of her untimely passing. Last month, Park Bo Ram was found dead at a friend's home at the age of 30, adding to the list of young South Korean celebrities who have died prematurely. - The Korean Hanbok: Timeless, and Ever-evolving. Can K-pop and K-dramas keep it alive?
When you think of Korea, what are some things that come to mind? K-pop, K-dramas, K-food? For us, the Hanbok is one of them. Though it has gone through moderations over time, its meaning has remained the same. Let's take a look at why this is, and what it means today! Hanbok (traditional Korean clothes) can be found in most tourist destinations in Seoul or throughout Korea. Yes, I have worn it before on a couple of occasions however it was only in a formal setting (tea ceremony) and for filming. I have been interested in Hanbok's history since I visited the History Museum in Seoul a year ago, and there was a display of Hanbok through time. For me, the more traditional Hanbok style was more impressive visually, and the modernized style which was introduced in the late 19th and 20th century, though it still had traditional aspects, I felt like it was trying to become more Western. Towards the end of the Three Kingdoms era, aristocratic women began to wear waist-length jackets and long, ankle-length skirts, while the noblemen wore loose pants, fitted at the ankles and long, belted tunics, however at the same time, silk robes became a thing, but only for the royals and their officials, which is where the Gwanbok (관복) originated from. The clothes worn by regular people were much more simple and less colorful though, as it was very expensive to produce such clothing. For me, I think the overall style of Hanbok reflects a calming and elegant feel, and since coming to Korea in 2020, I have primarily seen it being worn on special events or holidays, such as Seollal or Chuseok . However, I think the entertainment industry is keeping the style alive by adding the dress code into its dramas and music videos . Let's take a look at BLACKPINK's Jennie below, the brand that she is wearing in the photo is Daha, which is an eco-friendly brand that specializes in Korean traditional clothes. I think that she looks fabulous, and the intricate design keeps close to the more traditional Hanbok that has been worn for generations. So can K-idols keep Hanbok alive? Will Hanbok have a place for future generations? Have you ever tried wearing a Hanbok before? If you have, tag Dojeon Media in your photos on Instagram! #blackpink #jennie #hanbok #kculture #kfashion

- We dive deep into the brain of BTS's leader, RM, in his new single "Lost"!
Satire, wordplay, and humorous, BTS's leader, RM released his new single "Lost" from his latest album "Right Place, Wrong Person" and we're here to decode it! Read on to dive into the mind of the intricate world of Namjoon! Dropping on Friday, May 24, 2024 , RM's new single "Lost" has garnered much attention as it dives into the intricate brain of BTS's frontman, RM (Namjoon)! Playing with satire, humor, and wordplay, we dissect this new single and what we think is a masterpiece and work of art! Let's take a look at the video first! Not taking himself too seriously, we see RM playing multiple characters in the M/V. Combined with some lighthearted jokes (although he doesn't smile at all during the whole video), we can look into the mind of Namjoon! There are multiple scenes in the M/V where we see RM climbing up, with the help of his similarly dressed friends. We believe this represents all the people behind the scenes as well as BTS and his family and friends who supported him during his rise to stardom. We can also see RM's sense of humor and style as we follow multiple characters throughout the video, who also are not smiling. Taking place in an older office space, we can see Namjoon becoming "lost" in his own thoughts with a million things going on at the same time. This is reflected in the "sound" of "Right Place, Wrong Person" as the album begins to take shape with the acoustic guitar being at the forefront of most songs along with a simple upbeat beat in the background. Not to mention "Lost" is completely in English, we feel that RM is focusing his efforts on his global audience ( ARMY ). We can't wait to see more singles from "Right Place, Wrong Person" as we peel back the layers of Namjoon! Comment below with your thoughts on "Lost" and give us your interpretation of the music video! #RM #Namjoon #Lost #HYBE #TheMV #RM_Lost #RightPlaceWrongPerson
- Our honest review of RM's "Come back to me"
With much excitement, BTS's RM on May 10th, 2024 released his single "Come back to me" and has garnered over 12 million views on YouTube! Here is Dojeon team member, Lewis's, honest review on this highly-anticipated comeback! RM (Rap Monster) had great success as a member of the K-pop band BTS, and his solo single "Come back to me" really made me feel emotional. There was no particular part of the song that made me emotional, but it just pulled on my heartstrings. Let me tell you why! L et's check out the M/V first! I also think that the more toned down, and chilled-out vibe that this single projected was a clever idea, to remove the glamourous stages and dance routines and simply show him as an artist individually so that his fans could get to know him on a more personal level. I can't even pinpoint the parts of it that do so, but it just tugs at the heartstrings. I felt like I was on the verge of crying the whole time, and it broke me at 3:37 when Namjoon started smiling just as the drums came in. It just feels like this whole project is so, so important for him. What a masterpiece in storytelling too! Joon did so well in every scene and I couldn't take my eyes off him, because it showed the difference in their careers and their journey from when they first started to where they are today! The video made me think about how fast life moves, one moment you are young hanging out with your friends, and then the next you are working, married, or have kids. I think that his video really highlights the importance of enjoying life. The acting was also very good and told his story. RM's second solo album "Right place, wrong person" will be released on May 24th, 2024 at 1 pm KST/ 0 am EST. Let us know in the comments below your thoughts on his single! #ComeBackToMe #RM #ComeBackToMeByRM #RightPlaceWrongPerson
- Summer is just around the corner and we have 3 Korean foods to help you cool off!
Korean summers are known for being notoriously hot, here at Dojeon Media we have short-listed the top three Korean foods that you must try! Now, with the summer season kicking into action, I have listed three of the many Korean summer foods that you really should try, whether you are living in Korea or simply visiting. As you may know, Korean summers can get VERY hot, especially in Daegu which the Koreans name it (Dafrica) as it's simply dry and hot because of its beautiful mountain surroundings. 1. Patbingsu (팥빙수) Now before I tried this for the first time, I thought that it might taste like ice cream, though I realized that it was nothing like that. It's known for it's shaved ice toppings and either red bean or fruits, both of which are typically served with condensed milk for extra sweetness or candy depending on what option you choose. Though you can get individual portions, it is something that is usually served as a sharing size and I think that makes it such a more enjoyable social experience. My favorite has to be the mango flavor, and the shaved ice treat will definitely leave you feeling refreshed this summer! 2. Naengmyeon ( 냉면) Now if you have not heard of naengmyeon, you will very quickly when you are in Korea, especially in the summer. This dish is a cold noodle dish. It is made of buckwheat, potato, and sweet potato flour, and it is usually made with a beef broth with ice, vegetables, pear, and slices of meat, topped with a boiled egg. That said, nowadays this is one of the most popular summer dishes but its origins are from North Korea, where it was not strictly prepared during the summer but also during the winter. For me, this dish screams everything about summer in Korea and it can usually be found everywhere for a reasonable price. 3. Samgyetang ( 삼계탕) Now, Samgyetang is probably the most famous of the summer foods I have listed in this article, and for good reason. Now, I love chicken, and this hot chicken broth packs a punch of different flavors, which are said to keep you cool during the Korean summer. I have also tried making this famous dish at a cooking class about two years ago, and the whole baby chicken which is the star feature of this dish, boils to the bone and then soaks in all of the other ingredients. This dish can be found in the majority of places in Korea during the summer. Check out more summer foods in the video below! Now with summer kicking into action, what Korean summer foods are you going to try? Let us know in the comments below if you have tried any Korean summer foods, and what your favorite one is! #kfood #koreanfood #summerfoods #samgyetang #naengmyeon #bingsu
- K-Influence — How has it traveled around the world?
As I am sure you are aware, in 2024 Korean influence has traveled around the world to most corners of the globe. So what has made K-influence so successful all of a sudden? Here is what we know so far. The pandemic of 2020 led to people staying at home, and as a result, during this time, it also gave Korea a chance to start thinking about how it can gain an influence on other countries. Influencing other countries can be a MASSIVE game changer for Korea, which has become evident in recent months, especially in 2024! Korean language learners from overseas have increased, with foreign students coming to Korea to study Korean and people taking Korean language classes in their own countries. Learning Korean has surged so much, that it is now the 6th most popular language to learn in 2024. What does this mean for Korea? With its low birth rate and interest from other countries, Korea could gain a more multicultural society in the next couple of years. The widespread popularity of K-pop groups like BTS, TV dramas such as Squid Game , and Korean films like Parasite has generated international fascination with various facets of Korean culture, including its language. K-beauty has also increased its influence in overseas markets. Now, Korean beauty brands have taken the world by storm in recent years and it has taken advantage of the K-Wave . With the success of K-pop artists, it has been easy for brands to collaborate with them to promote their products to their fan bases, and why not?! An example of Korean pop culture’s widespread popularity is the K-pop group — BTS having a huge fanbase across the globe. One reason for K-Beauty’s growing popularity is the desire to achieve the “glass skin” look that is trendy in Korean dramas and pop culture. Celebrities in South Korea often use the best skincare products and undergo specialized beauty treatments to achieve this look. No wonder people from overseas have wanted to achieve the same! K-pop really took off for me with PYS's single "Gangnam Style" and I remember when I was younger, it was very popular in the UK. It has since left an impression of Korea for many Western people as a cool, bizarre, and truly interesting place to visit, and I think that PSY led the way for K-pop to become popular in Western countries. Of course, over time this has changed (K-Pop started in the late 1980's to early 1990's) but it has recently received a lot of attention. If you are still new to K-pop and don’t know much about K-pop music, think about pop groups like One Direction, Little Mix, and Fifth Harmony in America. They are closer to the concept of K-pop idols or the best K-pop groups. Now the world is crazy about BTS and we can call K-pop a global phenomenon because all over the world everyone is eager to know what K-pop is and what groups are popular in South Korea. From the popularity of K-pop at the global level, we can mention BTS’s Grammy nomination and their performance on important music stages such as the Billboard ceremony, the Grammy ceremony and the AMAs ceremony, and BLACKPINK's big performance at the Coachella festival , which was viewed by millions. Let us know your reasons why you think K-culture is so big in 2024 in the comments below! #kculture #kpop #kinfluence #kbeauty #kskincare #kfashion #kfood #bts #psy #blackpink
- Aespa dominates charts with "Supernova" and teases with new track "Armageddon"!
Aespa dominates charts with "Supernova" and teases the new track "Armageddon" . Here is everything you need to know! On May 13th, 2024, we saw the first double title track of Aespa's album "SUPERNOVA" which topped all of the major domestic music charts in Korea, including TOP100, Melon, Genie, and most major radio stations. What a fantastic experience for the K-girl group, and what a way to make a comeback! This BOOM back into the K-pop industry led the group to surpass more than 14 million streams on Spotify , which cements Aespa's place in the music industry. Building on that success, Aespa has confirmed that they are due to shortly release ANOTHER double title track called "Armageddon" which will be released on May 27th, 2024 ! Let's check out the teaser below! This double title track will feature a strong bass sound but still bring a mixture of hip-hop dance and old-school elements that the group has used in some of their other hits. The lyrics for the double title track "I can only define myself" can ring true with most young Koreans, as self-identity can sometimes be lacking, so we think that this message is important and creates a sense of purpose and meaning, which is delivered through strong vocal tones. Additionally, the "Armageddon" performance will feature addictive point choreography that is both restrained and hip, showcasing Aespa's unique groove and stage presence, which is expected to generate a strong reaction from fans, and create new fans, hopefully on a more international basis. Let us know in the comments below, what you think of their new double title track! #aespa #armageddon #æspa #aespaArmageddon #Supernova #aespaSupernova

- 3 Lifetimes, 3 losses, and dealing with a stalker! Fans debate if "Lovely Runner's" Im Sol is the strongest female lead!
After experiencing three lifetimes and each time losing the love of her life, Lovely Runner 's Im Sol is up for debate as one of K-drama's strongest roles! We break down what fans are saying and why we just might agree! tvN's Lovely Runner is not only the most-watched K-drama out now, but it's also the most talked about! After episode 13, fans couldn't wait to give their take on one of their favorite and "strongest" female leads in a while! Spoilers! Episode 13 was one for the ages as we witnessed tragedy after tragedy. Im Sol's ( Kim Hye Yoon ) plan to travel back in time to save the boy she loves, Ryu Seon Jae ( Byeon Woo Seok Strong Girl Nam-Soon 2023), but with success. This time, Seon Jae gets stabbed by Im Sol's stalker/killer and falls off the cliff while trying to save her. As soon as Im Sol returns to the present, she finds out that Seon Jae has no recollection of their relationship. As this is the third time that Im Sol has traveled back in time and once again, hasn't successfully saved Seon Jae or caught her killer, fans have shared their excitement and praise for her strong character! Let's take a look at what they said! "She is the strongest character in the series!" Because of her unconditional love for Seon Jae, Im Sol's cheerful attitude throughout the series, when she's in a good mood, lights up the screen! But when times are tough and she is having a difficult time, it is hard to put ourselves in her shoes. Her is what fans had to say after the episode! "I can’t fathom Sol’s pain. She went through three lifetimes to save him, but in the last chance she supposedly had, he died in front of her, prematurely at that, cutting 15 years off his life. Then she had another chance to undo everything. Now, she has to live with the memories of three different lifetimes but act like they didn’t happen." "When u think of it sol is like the strongest character in the series. Cause how can u see ur love die like 3 times , u face ur kidnapper so many times, u now live with memory if ur lover from 3 diff timelines and he doesn't even know a single thing about u cause u erased everything. This has to be mentally draining. I could've never. Come sol I'll give u a hug my love" "Yes all those lovely memories only live on in her ah that's sad but beautiful too. Right from the start she was all about saving him and losing him was the cost. When she was drunk and crying saying his name to the other guy from school days, did he spill the beans to her employer? Does he perhaps have some memories from 2009? She only sent Sun Jae back to before they met." We couldn't agree more with fans as Im Sol continues to go through a vicious cycle of a new plan, hope, and then a disturbing ending each time she travels back in time. Not to mention, we're not sure the reason why her stalking/killer is obsessed with trying to kill her during each lifetime! Let us know your thoughts on the latest episodes of Lovely Runner ! Are you also becoming more frustrated that each time she goes back in time, the same results happen and the killer/stalker still gets away? #LovelyRunner #lovelyrunnerep13 #kimhyeyoon #byeonwooseok
