BTS's Jin Surprises Fans - Youtube clip What Happened For a long time, BTS has had a "Grammy Jinx"; at least this is what ARMY has described it as. However, this may soon come to an end as Jin, J-Hope, and RM have officially entered the 2026 race as solo artists. As each BTS member is successful in their own right, they have entered their own projects instead of competing as a group. Here is what we know! Jin   submitted his debut solo album, E cho , led by the track “Don’t Say You Love Me" . It ’s his first Grammy submission, highlighting his emotional pop vocals. Fans see it as a powerful statement of his solo identity following his return to the spotlight after completing his military service. J-Hope   entered with songs like “Killin’ It Girl", “Mona Lisa", and “Sweet Dreams" . His energetic mix of dance, rap, and visuals targets categories like Best Pop Solo Performance  and Best Music Video. RM  joined the race with his latest solo project, featuring a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion.  His genre-blending sound and lyrical depth give him strong crossover appeal. Critics believe RM has one of the best chances among the three, and the Dojeon Media team couldn't agree more! Why This Is Significant ARMY is really hoping that the BTS boys buckle down and win a Grammy Award finally, after years of their "jinx". You see, since the boys have entered as solo members, it increases their chances of winning, since their music is different and they can enter into different categories. BTS really does have a fantastic opportunity to represent K-pop's growing influence in the Western music industry at the 2026 Grammy Awards, and the Dojeon Team will be watching for sure! What to Watch Grammy nominations for the 2026 awards are yet to be revealed, and these submissions by the BTS boys are just some of the first, and of course fans are waiting to see if any of them make the final list ahead of the award show. Even a single nomination would be a historic moment for their solo careers. Competition however is fierce in categories like Album of the Year  and Best Pop Solo Performance.  However, the members’ global fanbase and streaming success could boost their visibility. Their results may also shape how BTS’s future projects are received globally. Final thoughts The Dojeon Media team is taking a firm line that the Grammy "jinx" will finally stop here! We believe that with the strong work ethic and determination of the BTS members, they are taking a bold step to prove their individual work and artistry. • K-Idol Romance Scandals That Have Shocked Korea This Year!

From secret dates to industry chaos, here are the K-pop idol scandals that shook the year! Image: K-pop Romance Scandals - Photo: You Tube In any industry, there are always scandalous activities; however, when you are in the public eye, you have to be more careful and discreet with your moves. This has not been the case for some of these big-name K-idols! First up, ALLDAY PROJECT's Woochan and Youngseo Dating Rumors This scandal focuses on the rumors that went viral this year, all thanks to Woochan and Youngseo , who are both members of ALLDAY PROJECT. In fact, the speculation went viral across social media channels, thanks to some fan footage which centered on 'fan service', which has since caused a massive debate among fans. The video footage showed an Eyesmag chat promotional event. It featured Woochan and Youngseo, who were both engaging in a prolonged staring contest or a moment of intense eye contact. Fans noted their "soft smiles", "quick blushes", and undeniable chemistry, interpreting the interaction as evidence of a romantic connection beyond mere friendship. Could this be one of the first open K-idol couples? The controversy highlights the intense scrutiny and high fan expectations placed on idols, particularly within co-ed group dynamics, and the hush hush same sex couple culture in conservative Korea. MADEIN Agency Scandal, which appeared to be more than just romance This all-singing and dancing K-pop girl group MADIEN and their entertainment agency 143 Entertainment have both faced a major scandal at the end of 2024, and in early 2025, which literally shocked K-pop fans worldwide, along with the Korean nation. The scandal was not a romance scandal; however, it was a scandal involving serious allegations of sexual assault by the agency's CEO against a former band member, Gaeun , who at the time was classified as a minor. This sickening act meant that the rest of the group also faced backlash due to their handling of the bad situation, and the fact that they refused an old blog post of a former member during the controversy. What do you think about this? The Dojeon team believes that the rest of the group should not have got caught up in this, however considering how much time idol training groups spend together, we are sure that they had an idea about what might have been going on, and as a result they should have stood up for their fellow band member during this horrendous time, this just goes to show the amount of influence that entertainment labels have over their artists. Kim Soo-hyun & Kim Sae-ron  - The Underage Grooming Scandal This is one of the scandals that the Dojeon team has written about several times, due to the outrage within his fan group and the Korean public. This controversy came about after the late passing of Kim Sae-ron back in February this year, when it was widely publicized that he was dating the late actress while she was underage, which has since had catastrophic implications on his career, since he is now a part of the cancel culture . It also came about that a friend of the late star publicly accused Kim Soo-hyun, stating that he was seventy percent responsible for the emotional decline in Sae-ron's mental state before her death. It really does say something when your close friends turn on you. Nevertheless, Kim Soo-hyun's agency decided to deny the claims, and as a result, the fallout from the allegations became a major national scandal with divided opinions. The power balance between the two stars and the age difference is, for sure, one that is intense and could stem from the pressures of the celebrity culture in Korea. Final thoughts: Breakups and industry pressure The Dojeon team believes that idol dating rumors feed the media and keep the press and fans talking about these idols! We believe that the most impactful scandal this year is the one focusing on ALLDAY PROJECT, as it pays attention to the darker side of the Korean culture and entertainment industry, which is same sex relationships, which we have spoken about many times before. Having said that, a very concerning and sensitive scandal is the one in which Kim Soo-hyun found himself. Whether or not his actions were reciprocated, being in the public eye, he should not have engaged in those activities, and he has paid the price. Once the face of supermarket chain Home Plus and the face of nearly every coffee shop, his face and brand endorsements have all but disappeared, so it is as if they never actually happened. Which scandal is the most juicy for you? Comment below and let the Dojeon team know! #KpopScandal2025 #IdolDatingRumors #KRomance #KpopNews #KpopControversy #ALLDAYPROJECT

  • “Nice To Not Meet You” Is the Rom Com We Judged Too Early: Watch It or Skip It

Nice To Not Meet You (Credits: tvN) When Nice To Not Meet You  was announced, everyone online paused. Lee Jung-jae doing a rom-com after Squid Game ? Lim Ji-yeon doing comedy when she’s literally the queen of intense roles? The age gap became a hot debate before the drama even aired. People were curious, confused, and judging the drama before even watching. And yet, guess what? Curiosity won. Most viewers (including me) clicked Episode 1 expecting a disaster, but stayed because it turned out to be funny, bizarrely charming, and surprisingly comforting. Sometimes you don’t “choose” a drama. Sometimes the drama chooses you. Synopsis (No spoilers) Lim Hyun-joon ( Lee Jung-jae ) is a once-famous actor whose career crashed. Years of flops later, he suddenly becomes popular again through a detective series. Watching Lee Jung-jae play a frustrated actor feels almost like a soft parody of his own comeback in real life. Wi Jeong-sin ( Lim Ji-yeon ) is a stubborn, workaholic political journalist. She is serious, messy, lacks chill, and has zero sense of humor. If stress were a person, it would be her. One wrong encounter throws these two into each other’s lives, and suddenly their quiet, controlled worlds turn into a series of accidents, misunderstandings, and unintentional bonding. Nice To Not Meet You (Credits: tvN) Review: Curiosity made us press play, comedy made us stay Let me be honest. I watched the first episode because I was curious. Everyone online was curious. The pairing felt unexpected, and I just wanted to see how their chemistry would work. The first two episodes are a bit slow because the drama introduces both leads separately. Their worlds are completely different, so it feels like watching two genres at once. But the moment they meet, the comedy starts rolling. Suddenly, you feel like you are watching a Tom and Jerry live-action version. They argue, misunderstand, and still somehow land in the same space. Nice To Not Meet You  (Credits: tvN) Lee Jung-jae is naturally funny without trying too hard. Lim Ji-yeon plays a messy perfectionist with pure chaotic energy. They balance each other with tension and annoyance, and that is what makes the chemistry believable! The romance is not “instant sparks". It is a slow-burning irritation that turns into attraction. Some scenes stretch a little, and the editing could be tighter. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea if they want a fast plot. But if you had a long day and just want something to unwind your brain without emotional investment, this drama is like a warm, silly blanket. You laugh, disconnect, and relax. Sometimes that is enough. Final Thoughts Nice To Not Meet You  is the kind of drama you don’t expect much from, but suddenly you find yourself smiling at the screen like an idiot. It is not deep. It is not intense. It is simply fun. Watch it for: slow burn enemies-to-lovers cohabitation, chaos, and misunderstandings comedy without trying too hard Don’t watch it if you need something fast-paced and emotionally shocking. Personally, I’m staying to see who falls first . Lim Hyun-joon? Wi Jeong-sin? Have you started watching Nice To Not Meet You ? Who do you think will fall first? Let us know in the comments! #NiceToNotMeetYou #KdramaReview #LeeJungJae #LimJiYeon #KoreanRomCom #WatchOrSkip #NewKdrama #KDramaRecommendation #KoreanDramaObsessed #RomComSeries #KdramaBinge

  • Breaking Barriers: South Korea Counts Same-Sex Couples in National Census

The 2025 census could redefine how love, identity, and equality are recorded in Korean society. What may seem like "ordinary news" in the West, we break down why it is groundbreaking in South Korea. Image: South Korean Same Sex couple - Photo: Netshark Why is this news groundbreaking? For the first time in the history of Korea, the government has announced that although same sex couples and marriage are not legally recognized, they are willing to take a progressive step forward by recognizing same sex households and couples in the upcoming national census for the first time! This change is a victory for LGBTQ+ advocates, as it finally provides official statistical recognition for same-sex relationships. Visibility in National Data Previously, the digital census system would automatically flag and reject "spouse" entries for same-gender couples as an error, forcing them to select "other cohabitants". This update removes that discriminatory barrier, allowing for a more accurate reflection of diverse family structures in national data, which in part is thanks to the younger Korean generation . The government has announced that the collection of this data is crucial, as it can be used by policymakers to better understand and address the needs of the LGBTQ+ community. Activists have hailed this as the first instance where the existence of queer citizens is properly recorded in official statistics in the near future. A Step Towards Equality While the census inclusion is a monumental step, it does not grant same-sex couples legal status, as same-sex marriage remains illegal in South Korea. However, this progress builds on recent judicial rulings, such as a 2024 court decision that recognized the right of same-sex partners to receive spousal benefits under the national health insurance. The LGBTQ+ Community speaks out The LGBTQ+ Community have spoken out about the governments 'quiet' approach around the new legislation for the upcoming census. Some members of the LGBTQ+ community have praised the new legislation and view it as a step forward, however a large majority have said that the government are avoiding publicizing the new option too much, and that limited public awareness could lead to lower participation among same sex couples. Our Thoughts The Dojeon team believes that this progressive behavior by the younger generation is mainly because they have had the chance to live, work, and travel overseas, unlike their parents or grandparents. Social media and Boy Love dramas have also played a part in this new legislation, as the younger generation is more exposed to same sex couples in their daily lives. Not only this, but social media has given people a platform to voice their opinions, and this is something which governments often oppose and suppress, though it does sound like the Korean government is willing to listen to what its citizens are voicing online. We also believe that most LGBTQ+ members will not participate openly in the census as a same sex couple, primarily because of the views that the Korean society holds. Just because the option has been included in the census, it does not automatically give any rights to the LGBTQ+ community, and we believe that many members of the community will worry about the repercussions of stating their sexual preference openly. Is Korea opening up as a more progressive Asian society? We would love to hear your thoughts on this progressive topic in the comments below! #SouthKoreaEquality #SameSexRecognition #LGBTQRightsAsia #Census2025 #LoveIsLove #HistoricChange

  • 5 Reasons Why “Typhoon Family” Is Worth Your Time

Typhoon Family (Credits: tvN) If you want a K-drama that blends nostalgia, family struggles, emotional depth, and real history, Typhoon Family  is exactly what you're looking for. The story is set during South Korea's late 1990s economic collapse, also known as the IMF era . The financial crisis is not just used as a backdrop. It becomes a turning point that changes every character’s relationships, dreams, and direction. Here are five strong reasons why Typhoon Family  is trending and why viewers cannot stop talking about it. Synopsis Typhoon Family began in 1997, when South Korea faced a massive economic crisis —the infamous IMF crisis . Kang Tae-pong ( Lee Jun-ho ), who once lived a carefree life thanks to his father’s successful company, suddenly loses everything when the business collapses and his father passes away. Forced to grow up overnight, Tae-pong becomes the new CEO of Typhoon Trading Company. With no business experience but a strong sense of responsibility, he is determined to protect the company his father cherished. Working alongside him is Oh Mi-seon ( Kim Min-ha ), an employee juggling countless small tasks while quietly dreaming of building a real career. Their shared struggle turns into hope, showing that family can also be found in people who stand beside you through the hardest storms. 1. The raw reality of living through the IMF era Most dramas highlight luxury and success. This one shows what financial collapse actually looks like. Families lose everything, jobs vanish, and survival becomes the biggest goal. Instead of romanticizing the era, the drama stays honest and emotional. It shows how ordinary people fought to keep going even when the world around them fell apart. Typhoon Family (Credits: tvN) 2. Soft and slow romance that grows naturally The romance is gentle, sincere and mature. There are no dramatic confessions or intense clichés. Instead, two people find comfort in each other during difficult times. Their relationship grows from understanding to affection, making every moment feel meaningful and real. Typhoon Family (Credits: tvN) 3. Teamwork that makes every character feel important The company in the drama is not just a workplace. It becomes a support system where people depend on each other. Every employee has a role, every effort matters, and every step forward feels like a victory. Watching them push through hardship together makes you cheer for them as a team. Typhoon Family (Credits: tvN) 4. Tae-poong gives up his dreams for his father’s company Tae-poong starts as someone who has a plan for his own life. When tragedy strikes, he chooses responsibility over personal desire. He sacrifices his dreams to protect his father’s company and the people depending on it. His emotional growth is one of the strongest storylines in the drama, and it hits hard. Typhoon Family (Credits: tvN) 5. Authentic 90s atmosphere that reflects personal and national struggle Vintage fashion, retro offices, old devices, and handwritten paperwork bring the 90s to life. The country’s struggle reflects the characters’ personal battles. As South Korea fights to rebuild its economy, the characters try to rebuild their lives. The parallel makes the story powerful and relatable. Typhoon Family (Credits: tvN) Final Verdict Typhoon Family  is not just a drama. It is a heartfelt reminder that dreams require sacrifice, growth requires pain, and hope is strongest when everything seems lost. It is nostalgic, emotional, and it will stay with you long after the final episode. Typhoon Family airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 PM KST on tvN. Tell us in the comments, are you already watching Typhoon Family , or planning to start soon? We’re excited to hear your opinions. #TyphoonFamily #reallife #IMFcrisis #FinancialCrisis #LeeJunHo #KimMinHa

Scattered across the city, you’ll also find royal burial mounds, ancient observatories, and beautifully preserved relics that bring Korea’s past to life in a way few places can. APEC 2025 (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) is one of the most prestigious events, as it welcomes high-level CEOs and World Presidents from 21 Pacific Rim member economies to discuss regional economic issues. Hosted by South Korea for the first time two decades ago, the meeting serves as the pinnacle of a year-long series of working-level meetings, which have been mostly focused on the host's theme for 2025, “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper.” The main goal of APEC is to foster greater prosperity for the region by promoting free and open trade, driving digital and technological innovation, and accelerating economic integration without imposing legally binding obligations or sanctions. This year's meeting will host major world leaders, including President Donald Trump of the United States  and President Xi Jinping of China, which has raised the global profile of the summit. Our experience of Gyeongju During my recent visit to  Hwangridan Gil , a popular cultural street blending old-world charm with modern trends, I met Fin and Lisa, travelers from Germany. When asked about their impressions of Gyeongju, they shared: “ We really like Gyeongju. We only just arrived today, but already we’ve experienced so much of Korea’s rich history and culture, alongside its vibrant nightlife and food. We’re really glad we added this city to our travel itinerary.” I also asked if they were aware of  APEC , the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, which is currently being highlighted throughout the city. Fin and Lisa noted: “ We’ve seen a lot of signage about APEC around Gyeongju, but as travelers, we weren’t quite sure what it was about.” I took the opportunity to explain that  APEC  is a vital forum where world leaders come together to promote sustainable economic growth and cooperation across the Asia-Pacific region, making Gyeongju not only a site of historical significance but also a stage for shaping the future. Whether you're drawn by its deep historical roots, scenic beauty, or modern cultural experiences, Gyeongju offers something truly special for every visitor. • ADOR 1, NewJeans 0: Seoul Central Court Rules in Favor of ADOR Amid NewJeans Contract Dispute

Legal victory for ADOR as Seoul Central District Court rules on NewJeans contract dispute. We have all the details on this ongoing scandal! Image: New Jeans - Photo: https://altselection.ouest-france.fr What's the latest in this ongoing K-pop scandal? The contract dispute between record label ADOR and NewJeans has been ongoing for months now, and the Dojeon Media team has kept you informed of the latest scandalous events throughout. The latest on the contract dispute between ADOR and the girl group NewJeans is that the Seoul Central District Court affirmed the validity of NewJeans’ exclusive contract with the agency. According to a report by The Chosun Daily , the court specifically stated it was “difficult to recognize that ADOR violated any contractual obligations” through the dismissal of former CEO Min Hee-jin . The ruling further mandated that NewJeans is responsible for covering the litigation costs, which are expected to run into the hundreds of millions of Korean won. Do you think this ruling is fair? Or does ADOR have so much influence, it's helped them win the battle? Poor management The court ruling also mentioned that the dismissal of former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin alone did not solely create the gap in management, which led to the poor management strategies when it came to NewJeans . The court went on to mention that ADOR never once lacked plans or capability in their duties following the Min Hee-jin scandal, and the court clarified that the exclusive contract did not guarantee Min Hee-jin's tenure in the label, meaning that she could have departed or been fired at any time, and would have had nothing to do with New Jeans. Actually, NewJeans members' personal trust in Min Hee-jin was not a "significant contractual obligation" requiring continued leadership by Min Hee-jin. The ruling concluded that ADOR was capable of fulfilling its obligations, citing the agency’s ongoing work on album releases, fan meetings, and world tour planning. Fan response Rightly so, fans have reacted to the latest news of the court ruling with a mix of emotions. Some fans have expressed their relief that this ongoing and very public ordeal is now close to being over, while others have expressed their concerns over the future of NewJeans. Awkward working relationship Imagine the intense drama and awkward moments in the company lifts while working together again. ADOR and NewJeans have to legally be with the agency; however, the public drama brought on mainly by the behavior of NewJeans and the lack of trust between both sides is going to lead to some awkward interaction. Picture this: every interaction, from recording sessions to planning meetings, will be strained by the members’ appeal and the management’s need to perform its duties under the threat of scrutiny and continued bad faith between both sides, especially since NewJeans have to pay for the court costs! Final thoughts While the court may have ruled in favor of ADOR as opposed to NewJeans, here at Dojeon Media, we believe that it was always going to play out like this, since money and power talk in what can be described as a 'still corrupt' system in Korea. Although NewJeans are very talented, we are expecting to see their public image slowly dwindle in the coming year, mainly due to their "completely broken" trust in the relationship between the group itself and ADOR, particularly since the group's legal team immediately announced an appeal. There is also lingering worry about the group’s creative future and artistic freedom moving forward without former CEO Min Hee-jin. Comment below and let the Dojeon team know your thoughts on this trending K-pop scandal. #ADOR #NewJeans #ContractDispute #KPopLaw #SeoulCentralDistrictCourt #LegalRuling
