The thrilling suspense horror premiere of Revenant was something to behold! Each scene kept us on the edge of our seats! We share three reasons why Kim Tae Ri and Oh Jung Se were brilliant in this much-anticipated drama!

Revenant took our breaths away during its premiere on June 23, 2023, as it took us on a rollercoaster of emotions! Gu San Yeong (Kim Tae Ri Twenty-Five Twenty-One 2022) is a part-time worker who lives with her mother. She doesn't know that the reason why her mother divorced her father was because he worked with ghosts and supernatural beings. After finding out that what her mother has been telling her all her life has been a lie, San Yeong starts to question everyone around her.
Yeom Hae Sang (Oh Jung Se Little Women 2022) is a Korean folklore professor at a university. He can see ghosts. In a twisted fate, he learns that the ghost who killed his mother has possessed Gu San Yeong. He approaches San Yeong to help her figure out how to deal with her possessive ghost as the two navigate two deaths in the first episode!
Why you need to be watching!
1. Kim Tae Ri is a rising star!
It is clear why after winning "Best Actress" for her role in Twenty-Five Twenty-One during the 2022 (58th) Baeksang Arts Awards, Kim Tae Ri is the next budding superstar actress! Her role as a confused but sympathetic Gu San Yeong is brilliant!
Her facial emotions throughout the first episode really tell a tale of someone fighting their inner demons. While struggling to fight off the supernatural, she can't help but accept her fate as someone who is possessed by a supernatural being.
2. Oh Jung Se is the perfect complimentary role to Kim Tae Ri!
Serving as an older mentor and expert in supernatural cases, Oh Jung Se's character, Yeom Hae Sang, is obsessed, but not to show too much care, about finding his mother's killer. Oh Jung Se displays the perfect amount of emotion as his character truly cares about not hurting innocent lives, but still wants to get revenge.
Oh Jung Se's veteran presence is the perfect compliment to up-and-coming star Kim Tae Ri! We can't wait to see how this relationship will turn out during this series!
3. A very addicting storyline!
With already two deaths into the first episode, we're not sure if Gu San Yeong and Yeom Hae Sang will be able to prevent three more deaths. The longer episode format (about an hour and 15 minutes) provides a good pace for how the characters are able to accept their situations and slowly start to believe that there are supernatural beings at play. So far, all the deaths have been somewhat related to Gu San Yeong, therefore we can't wait to see how the story unfolds!
