One year ago, BTS's Jeon Jungkook enlisted early for military service, hoping to reunite BTS faster.

But since joining, he’s faced not just training, but serious threats and theft! What’s happening to Jungkook?

A Threatening Start...

Last year, a Twitter user (@pjmsprotector) tried to gain attention by threatening to leak Jungkook’s passport if fans sent 100 streaming screenshots.

At that time, Jungkook, busy with military duties, may not have even known about the situation. Luckily, some of his fans and Big Hit's management were on full alert, working behind the scenes to protect him.

But the drama didn’t end there.

Millions Stolen!

This year, it was revealed that someone stole Jungkook’s HYBE stocks during his basic training.. worth 8.4 billion won!

The hacker used his name to open a fake account, moved 33,000 shares, and sold 500.

Luckily, the Seoul court ordered the shares to be returned. But the criminal still hasn’t been caught.

Where are they? What are they planning next? No one knows.. and that’s what’s chilling.

Jungkook was a clear victim of identity theft, and Big Hit responded by boosting security around artist's data, but fans wonder: is that enough?

Who's the Betrayer?

Here’s where things get even more intriguing.

Since Jungkook’s enlistment, the attacks haven’t stopped.

Koreans left countless comments speculating about what really happened:

Someone close to Jungkook? Could it be someone from Jungkook’s company? A friend? Maybe even a family member?

● English translation :

"They need to thoroughly investigate whether it was someone close to him or a hacking-related incident, and the person responsible must be severely punished. Jungkook, fighting!"

● English translation :

"Wow, what a crazy [situation/person]."

ree

● English translation :

"If it's identity theft, it's probably a betrayal by a manager or someone close. I remember when BLACKPINK's Lisa was scammed out of over 1 billion won by her manager. Not sure if he was ever caught. Things may have improved now, but the entertainment industry still has too many shady people."

Someone who knows too much.

Someone who could act without raising suspicion.

Someone who used Jungkook’s trust and took advantage while he was away.

What’s Next?

Jungkook will finish his service on June 11, 2025. But until then, fans are left asking: Will the thief strike again? Can Jungkook ever be fully safe?

Fans, stay vigilant. The story isn’t over yet, and maybe, neither is the danger.
