Lim Si Hyeon is from the quiet area of Gangneung , South Korea, and was born in 2003, She attended No-am Elementary School where she first began archery as an after-school activity in the third grade. She left her hometown for Seoul to attend Seoul Physical Education High School . She graduated from the Korean National Sports University. Being on the national team comes with great privileges and respect, and she competed in the women's individual event at the 2024 Summer Olympics , where she set a world record in the preliminary round, scoring 694 out of a maximum of 720 . I found this really impressive when I heard about it. I have tried archery on several occasions, and I have to say that it looks a lot easier than it actually is. Of course, I am no Olympian, however, I really respect the skill and time that she has put into perfecting the sport. Of course, with 2024 being part of the rise in K-culture, Korea seems to be scoring really well at the Olympic Games in Paris. I strongly believe that the success that Korea seems to be having at the Olympics and breaking world records will elevate that success in other areas such as soft power (K-dramas, K-pop, K-culture). Usually, I tend not to watch the Olympics, or at least not all of it, however recently, I have found myself becoming more interested in the games. Like many, I tuned in to watch the Olympics on Saturday 27th of July 2024, and was taken back by the fencing round for both the men's and women's rounds. However, I was particularly glued to my screen when Oh Sang Uk came on. His flawless moves (especially in his footwork) and long strides kept me watching. It looked like he was not even trying at some points, though winning each set and I found that really impressive! Let's check out the best moments! After taking team gold in Tokyo, Korea's three-time world champion Oh Sang Uk took his first individual Olympic title in the men's sabre final over Tunisia’s Fares Ferjani in an epic battle at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 on 27 July. The fencing games were staged at the iconic Grand Palais , the fencers were tied 3-3 before Oh took off for what he thought would be an easy 15-6 victory, but the video was reviewed after he prematurely celebrated his 15-point win and the games continued. As the game played out, his opponent, Ferjani began to stage a monumental comeback, climbing to 14-11 after he was down eight points, but ultimately fell to Oh for a final score of 15-11 that notably ended with the Korean in the splits. With millions of people around the world watching the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony , an embarrassing misstep happened as South Korea was wrongly introduced as North Korea. So what happened and how did Koreans respond? Based on alphabetical order in French, South Korea, by its official name, "Republique de Coree," was the 48th nation in the river parade. When the South Korean delegation came into the spotlight, the French-speaking announcer said through the PA system, "Republique Populaire democratique de Coree," Of course, this was followed by the English announcement, "Democratic People's Republic of Korea," which is the official English designation of North Korea. When I heard that Lisa was going to be riding solo in her music video and releasing her own single after spending many years in BLACKPINK, I was ecstatic and beaming with anticipation! I think that the success of being part of a global group and having gained a global fan base will help her succeed on her own. I mean she has already made millions and networked within the saturated industry. For me, Lisa is one of my favorite members of BLACKPINK. I really like her style and vibe, so I am hoping that with the changes she has made with her solo career, it will help her succeed even more, as it is very hard to gain recognition for her skills. The music video for me was visually stunning, and since the video was shot in some of the markets in Bangkok, Thailand it also holds a special place for me, as I have visited Thailand many times, and I love the bustle of the city. The bad girl attitude that Lisa portrays in the video, in my opinion, suits the back streets of Bangkok, and I think that it was a smart move to include her Thai routes in the video. I really love Lisa, and I think that this music video will gain her lots of followers and success within the music industry, with her long-standing experience with the mega group BLACKPINK. This enchanting  Hanok  cluster is home to a few artist studios, an art museum , award-winning restaurants , and a few indie brands where you can shop for clothing, bags, shoes, and tableware, or even attend art workshops! A visit to Wonseo-dong doesn’t feel like any ordinary “shopping trip”. You actually soak in the serene atmosphere and will be able to appreciate the beauty of slowing down right at the center of Seoul, as if you are part of the community. A contemporary take on traditional Korean cuisine in a modern Hanok overlooking the beautiful Changdeokgung Palace.
