Set in a dimly lit, vast space that evokes the aura of an abandoned factory, the video exudes an enigmatic atmosphere, perfectly complementing the song's alluring melodies. Breaking down Jungkook's style & atmosphere Every figure in the video, including Jungkook, dons the mysterious attire of black, creating a striking visual contrast against the shadowy backdrop. This deliberate choice infuses the scene with a sense of unity and harmony as if the performers are connected by an unseen thread that binds them together. The black-clad ensemble adds an element of intrigue, piquing curiosity and captivating viewers' attention. Contrary to the initial description, the factory setting, while vast and empty, does not appear desolate. Instead, streaks of sunlight elegantly pierce through the windows and crevices, casting ethereal beams that dance across the room. This interplay of light and shadow adds depth and visual allure to the video, heightening the enigma that permeates the atmosphere. Analyzing the amazing choreography The video's most striking element is the arrangement of the performers. Jungkook stands at the center, surrounded by three individuals on each side. Play me slow I push up on this funk and give me miracles (let ya body know) Make it known How we left and right is something we control (you already know) The pre-chorus expresses their enduring love that can withstand time. They believe their love cannot be broken. You know that all night long we rock to this Screaming, I testify this lovin' All night long we flock to this Screaming, I testify that we'll survive the test of time They can't deny our love They can't divide us, we'll survive the test of time I promise I'll be right here The chorus delves into the heart of their relationship, comparing it to DNA. It represents a strong and unbreakable bond. The repetition of "Standing next to you" emphasizes their unwavering support for each other. Standing next to you Standing in the fire next to you, oh You know it's deeper than the rain It's deeper than the pain When it's deep like DNA Something they can't take away, ayy Take-take-take-take-take-take off Standing next to you Standing next to you (you) Standing next to you The second verse compares their love to the radiant light of the sun and moon, symbolizing warmth and completeness. Afterglow Leave ya body golden like the sun and the moon (you already know) You know that all night long we rock to this (oh) Screaming, I testify this lovin' All night long we flock to this (all night long) Screaming, I testify that we'll survive the test of time They can't deny our love They can't divide us, we'll survive the test of time I swear that I'll be right here "Standing Next to You" tells a story of profound and lasting love, where two individuals are united. - The Ultimate “Kpop Demon Hunters” Vibe: 7 Songs That Match the Film’s Energy
The official poster for K-pop Demon Hunters (Image via Netflix). While everyone was waiting with bated breath for the final season of Squid Game , eager to see how Seong Gi-hun would turn the system on its head, bulldoze the deadly arena, and put an end to the twisted games, Kpop Demon Hunters , a quirky, romantic-fantasy animated musical with a dash of action, took everyone by surprise. The film quickly soared to the top of Netflix’s global rankings and earned rave reviews from both critics and fans around the world. Kpop Demon Hunters tells the story of two rival K-pop groups: Huntrix, a girl group made up of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, and The Saja Boys, consisting of Jinu, Abby, Mystery, Romance, and Baby Saja. In this supernatural tale, the women are the real demon hunters, tasked with stopping The Saja Boys, who are literal demons, from unleashing chaos and destruction. The film blends K-pop, mythology, demon lore, high-energy choreography, catchy music, and heartfelt romance to create a cinematic experience fans are loving. Its original soundtrack is already charting high on South Korea’s Melon charts and the U.S. Billboard charts, going head-to-head with real-life K-pop groups in popularity. Dark, fierce, and fantastical: We’ve curated 7 K-pop songs inspired by the Kpop Demon Hunters soundtrack that deserve a spot on your playlist now! 1. BTS – "Boy With Luv" for “Soda Pop” The official music video for BTS "Boy With Luv" (Credit to HYBE). When we first saw The Saja Boys performing “Soda Pop” on the street in front of a crowd of adoring fangirls, we were instantly reminded of BTS’s most infectious bubblegum-pop hits, particularly “Dynamite” and “Boy With Luv", with the latter being the closer match. Both tracks share a breezy, feel-good vibe, with catchy beats, an addictive hook, and vibrant choreography that’s hard to resist. It’s refreshing and empowering to see two wildly popular boy groups challenge traditional ideas of masculinity by embracing pastels, playful aesthetics, and joyful summer-pop anthems without losing their cool. 2. BLACKPINK – "Shut Down" for “Take Down” The official music video for "Shut Down" (Credit to YG Entertainment). Beyond the similar-sounding titles, BLACKPINK’s “Shut Down” from their Born Pink album perfectly mirrors the fierce girl-crush energy of Huntrix’s “Take Down". Both are groovy, hip-hop-infused tracks with a strong dance-trap backbone and unapologetic swagger. “Shut Down” is about reclaiming power, silencing critics, and confidently owning your space, and that’s exactly what Huntrix does in “Take Down.” With powerhouse vocals from TWICE’s Jihyo, Jeongyeon, and Chaeyoung bringing intensity and bold charisma, the song becomes an anthem for self-assurance and dominance. 3. EXO – "Obsession" for “Your Idol” The official music video for "Obsession" (Credit to SM Entertainment). In an interview with Forbes , the music team behind Kpop Demon Hunters revealed that EXO was a major influence while crafting the darker, more intense tracks for the film’s soundtrack, especially “Your Idol". With its gritty production, hypnotic beats, and edgy concept, EXO’s “Obsession” mirrors the same shadowy allure that defines the Saja Boys’ goth-inspired live performance of “Your Idol". The combination of horror aesthetics, raw intensity, and seductive stage presence creates a moment that blurs the line between menace and magnetism. It's a bold K-pop power move and one that pays clear homage to EXO’s darker sonic legacy. 4. i-dle – "Nxde" for “How It’s Done” The official music video for "Nxde" (Credit to CUBE Entertainment). Fiercely individualistic, unapologetically authentic, and bursting with talent and charisma, i-dle and Huntrix are clearly cut from the same cloth. Both “Nxde” and “How It’s Done” deliver powerful feminist messages about owning your truth and standing your ground, no matter the opposition. While the two songs don’t share a similar sound, they radiate a comparable aura and branding—bold, confident, and unapologetically strong. That’s how it’s really done. Make notes, folks! 5. IVE – "I AM" for “Golden” The official music video for "I AM" (Credit to Starship Entertainment). When fans first heard “Golden", many were quick to point out its similarities to IVE’s “I AM” (just take a look at the YouTube comments for proof!). Both tracks feature a dynamic fast-slow tempo, flowing vocals, infectious hooks, and vibrant dance-pop vibes that make them instant radio hits, streaming favorites, and fan faves. Bold and confident, “Golden” makes a powerful musical statement: we’re officially in the golden era of girl groups. As the lyrics proudly declare, “It’s our moment / You know together we’re glowing / Gonna be, gonna be golden.” 6. "Starlight" by Taeyeon feat. DEAN for “Free” The official music video for "Starlight" (Credit to SM Entertainment). While Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon may not be a big fan of Kpop Demon Hunters herself, her collaboration track “Starlight” featuring DEAN is a perfect match for Jinu and Rumi’s love song, “Free". Built on a foundation of calming melodies and accentuated by beautiful, soothing vocals, both “Starlight” and “Free” are ideal slow, romantic songs to have on your playlist. Despite being nearly a decade old, “Starlight” feels like the musical sister to Jinu and Rumi’s heartfelt swan song, “Free". P.S. Ahn Hyo-seop , who voices Jinu, revealed that “Free” is his personal favorite track from the movie. 7. DREAMCATCHER – "Vision" for “What It Sounds Like” The official music video for "Vision" (Credit to Dreamcatcher Company). Both DREAMCATCHER’s “Vision” and Kpop Demon Hunters’ “What It Sounds Like” are powerful blends of dark techno, electronic elements, and classic K-pop structure, elevated by fantasy-driven visuals and bold, cinematic storytelling. These tracks aren't just songs; they're immersive experiences. With high-concept aesthetics, sleek production, and striking choreography, both music videos leave a lasting impression, mixing sci-fi energy with emotional intensity. At their core, “Vision” and “What It Sounds Like” share a powerful message: sometimes, you have to take control of your own destiny, because your fate is truly in your hands. K-pop Demon Hunters is now streaming on Netflix, and all the songs mentioned are available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music. #KpopDemonHunters #DREAMCATCHER #BTS #BLACKPINK #EXO #IVE #GirlsGenerationTaeyeon #IDLE #Huntrix #TheSajaBoys #Jinu #Rumi #Kpop
- Why Fans Are Boycotting HYBE and Is the Company Overworking Artists to Pay Off Debt?
Fans are protesting on social media against HYBE and requesting a boycott of all recent comebacks. This all began when, on September 15, 2024, Soobin from TOMORROW X TOGETHER shared a concerning update on Weverse about his health struggles. He revealed that he was experiencing extreme fatigue, so severe that eating had become a challenge. “Passing out, I’m so tired… I don’t even have the energy to swallow food so I only ate half of it. For starters, I’ll wash up and be back. I might not be back either…” Soobin’s candid message, paired with a photo of him resting, quickly caught the attention of fans. The issue of overwork is not isolated to TXT alone. Recently, other artists have also been affected by health issues linked to their intense schedules. Beomgyu from TXT sustained an ankle ligament injury during activities. ILLIT’s Wonhee suffered an ankle injury while filming content. NewJeans' Hyein experienced a microfracture in her foot, and Katseye's Daniela also faced an injury. This growing pattern of health issues among idols highlights the broader problem within HYBE’s management practices. Historically, groups had fewer comebacks per year, but the current trend has increased stress and exhaustion. HYBE has been facing additional challenges, including financial difficulties and internal conflicts , such as the ongoing dispute with Ador's CEO Min Hee Jin . Rumors about financial instability and mismanagement have further complicated the situation. Although these rumors remain unconfirmed, they contribute to the overall frustration. As fans, we genuinely care about the well-being of our favorite artists. The movement to boycott excessive comebacks reflects a sincere desire for a more humane approach to managing idols' schedules. We want to see our idols happy and healthy, and we support calls for significant changes in how they are treated. Let us know your thoughts about this very important matter in the comments below! #NewJeans #KATSEYE #TXT #Soobin #Hyein #Daniella #ILLIT #Wonhee #injury #healthissues

- Is the K-Pop Craze Cooling in the US, With Album Sales Taking a Hit?
Are US K-pop fans disengaging, reflected in the recent drop in K-pop album sales? We discuss this ongoing issue and how we think K-pop might bounce back during the second half of 2025! Image : Kpop fans in the US - Photo : scmp.com Is the US K-pop Boom Losing Its Spark? In a recent survey, data have shown that US album sales for K-pop music are perhaps losing their spark among young fans. This has triggered a hot debate within the K-pop industry, and it has left many asking if the K-pop push into the Western market is perhaps hitting a snag, or whether or not fans are changing how they decide to engage with their favorite K-pop idols. From January to April this year, K-pop album sales have seen a downward spiral for the first time, as only 23.4 million albums were sold, a massive 26% drop compared to the same time last year. This now marks a two-year milestone in sales dropping, since the peak in 2023, where 32.7 million units were sold. Image: Kpop fans in the US - Photo: sea.mashable.com Social Factors Related To These Changes One reason why K-pop album sales are seeing a decline in sales point to social factors of households in the US, along with inflation. Due to the recent cost of living crisis. K-pop fans are changing their spending habits. Even with album sales dipping, big Korean entertainment companies are making more money, thanks to a boom in overseas concerts. The industry should now focus on creating fresh content that offers new sights and sounds for fans, in a new bid to retain K-pop fans and steady their income and profits. Where Are the New K-Pop Global Hits? New K-pop global mega-hits were missing from the charts over the past year, which could also be a reason for the reduction in K-pop sales in the US. Out of Spotify's top 2,500 most-streamed songs worldwide last year, only 25 were K-pop tracks. Even then, BTS dominated the list with 16 songs, and BLACKPINK followed with nine, counting both group and solo releases. This means fresh K-pop tracks struggled to break into the top ranks, due to being less known and represented outside of their native Korea, and also having to compete with US household names. Did Internal Drama Hurt Sales? The ongoing drama between former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE executives concerning NewJeans is also being eyed as a factor impacting album sales. This is because public opinion on this matter among K-pop fans globally was very intense. Money talks, and people have too much going on in their own lives to get involved with the pettiness of NewJeans and Min Hee Jin. The very public dispute shined a light on issues like intense competition for first-week sales, fans buying huge amounts of albums just for signing events, and over-the-top album release strategies. This has led to a more cautious approach to marketing across the industry. Can K-pop Bounce Back And Save Its US Following? Good news for K-pop fans worldwide! Despite the recent dip in album sales, mainly in the US, the second half of the year could see a major comeback. Get ready for new music from huge groups like BLACKPINK , ATEEZ , aespa, TXT , and Stray Kids ! And the biggest buzz of all? We might even see the full return of BTS after their military service, potentially sparking a massive rebound for the entire industry. Will the return of BTS be seen as a chance to save the decline in K-pop sales? Or have BTS had their time? Are US K-pop fans disengaging, reflected in the recent drop in album sales? Have your say and leave a comment below! #KpopAlbumSales #USKpop #KpopFandom #MusicIndustry #KpopTrends

- K-pop fashion trends of 2024 that bring you out of your comfort zone! (For good reasons!)
K-pop idols have made a huge impact in fashion for years now and for very good reason. While fashion choices are inspired versions, these outfits have helped fans try new styles and aesthetics. Some fans may not feel confident enough to wear these types of clothes, but this generation of fans is all about trying new things. If you're looking to try something different in your style or spice it up a bit, here are three fashion trends that idols have shined in that you can try for yourself! Crop Tops We can't begin this list without one of the most popular fashion choices worn in the idol industry. While crop tops have been a thing since decades ago, male idols wearing them have made a huge impact in fashion within the K-pop genre. The article of clothing may not seem like much, but having the confidence to wear one isn't easy for fans or all idols. However, these idols are examples that you can pull off anything no matter who you are. If you ever branch out and wear one, remember to feel good about yourself because you look good! Leather While we all know and love leather. It's not as easy to put it on and feel good. Leather is an iconic fashion choice, but wearing it is just as iconic. We love to look at our idols in leather so we should try it too right? Nonetheless, when wearing leather choose something comfortable and still fits your style. K-pop concepts with leather outfits can serve as a huge inspiration for this! Skinny Jeans Last but certainly not least, I want to take you back to the second generation of K-pop's favorite fashion choice, skinny jeans! Skinny jeans were a big hit in the early 2000s and all of the entertainment industry, no matter what they wear. They may not be as popular now but if you're looking to try something new and exciting in your fashion you could consider these a great choice. And if you really want to turn heads, try colorful ones! All of these fashion choices are a testament that having fun in your style can bring out the confidence you may not have in clothes. Have you ever worn any of these or want to? Let us know in the comments and check out another fashion article from Dojeon Media here ! #ZEROBASEONE #KpopFashion #GirlsGeneration

Over the years the K-pop band Blackpink have gained a huge international following and in my opinion they have really helped to put Korea on the map globally. The announcement of BLACKPINK’s comeback was made just before the group’s 8th anniversary on August 8, which will be commemorated by a “OUR AREA WITH BLINK” fan sign event.
