  • A Muggle’s Guide to Seoul’s Magical Harry Potter Café!

Step into a Wizarding World wonderland right in the heart of Seoul. This is why you NEED to visit this Harry Potter-themed café located in one of Seoul's most trendy neighborhoods! Image: Harry Potter Café Seoul - Photo: Lewis Hooper Growing up in the UK, I have always been a fan of the Harry Potter series, especially as they were released when I was young. I remember waiting in line to buy the books as they are released, and going to the cinema on opening night as a kid. When I heard that there was going to be a Harry Potter themed café in Seoul, I was more than excited. This café is a wizarding world of adventure with a coffee shop attached to it! Inside, there are seven magical floors to explore, so you could easily lose track of time wandering through this Hogwarts- themed wonderland. Each level is a unique treat for the eyes, decked out with brooms, wands, robes, and endless photo ops that will make you feel like you've just stepped off the Hogwarts Express. Trust me, you'll want to take your time and explore every single enchanting floor like I did! Image: Harry Potter Café Seoul - Photo: Lewis Hooper Ready to refuel after all that magic? Your ticket to this amazing experience includes a minimum of one drink. But that's just the beginning! You can feast on delicious pastries and snack boards, or sip on everything from classic coffees and hot chocolates to the famous Butterbeer from The Three Broomsticks. Additionally, finding a place to relax is not just a chore, as it is in other cafés; it is part of the fun here, as there are numerous themed seating options available. Image: Harry Potter Café Seoul - Photo: Lewis Hooper Finding a place to relax is part of the fun, with a ton of seating options available. My absolute favorite? The super cozy, bed-themed booths near the Hogwarts living quarters photo booth they're the perfect spot to kick back and live out your wizarding dreams! Image: Harry Potter Café Seoul - Photo: Lewis Hooper Trust me, this café is a must-visit, no matter if you're a die-hard Potterhead or just looking for an unforgettable experience! While all seven floors are a blast, I was completely blown away by the entryway. It's an absolute masterpiece, with rows upon rows of wands, floating broomsticks, and mirrors that instantly transport you to Hogwarts. Sure, some floors have a few quirky, unexpected decorations—hello, random Christmas stuff! but others, like the grand staircase lined with paintings, are spot-on and perfectly magical. It reminded me of when I went to the Harry Potter Studios in London, and the Harry Potter area at Universal Orlando a few years back. The level of detail was just insane, and I promise you, that it will make for a great stop during our trip to Seoul. Get ready for your close-up, because this place is a photo-op paradise! It's no surprise given Seoul's love for photo booths, but I was genuinely shocked by how many amazing spots there were. They even have full sets of robes and wands for all four houses, so you can transform into a true wizard for your pictures! Just be a good wizard and be mindful of others waiting—you'll get your perfect shot without any of the muggle-like chaos. While the drinks are a little on the pricey side (around ₩7,000-8,000), it's totally worth it and pretty standard for a themed café in Seoul. My friends and I went all out, trying the cheesecake, hot chocolate, Butterbeer, and an alcoholic drink, and everything was absolutely delicious! The hot chocolate and cheesecake were extra adorable with their little chocolate wizard hats—almost too cute to eat! I would say that the Butterbeer is not the same as it is in the US, however, if you do have the option, depending on the time of year that you visit, then for sure you have to try the frozen one, as it is much more creamy and delicious.
