  • "Seoulful" Savings: Budget-Friendly Adventures in Korea [Part 4]

    1. Visit Leeum Art Museum in Yongsan A Korean lady once told me, that one of the best ways to enjoy the summer in Korea was to "be inside an art museum drinking an iced Americano". I couldn't agree with her more and think that her words can also apply to any season! Since we're in winter now I guess we can change it to an art museum and a hot latte! The Leeum Museum is a wonderful place to visit, it's free and has a mix of traditional and modern art, as well as exhibitions that are engaging and interactive. Check out what's on at the Leeum: https://www.leeumhoam.org/ Leeum Official Site: https://www.leeumhoam.org/leeum Of course with any museum, some exhibitions are held temporarily and these usually have a cost so be mindful! Sometimes you may need to make a reservation, the last time we went we didn't need to, but some days are busier than most and need a reservation so please check before going! Location: 60-16 Itaewon-ro 55-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul 2. Walk around Ihwa Mural Village We have mentioned Ihwa Mural Village before HERE if you'd like to check it out! Walking around Ihwa Mural Village is a pleasant and peaceful experience in any season. As mentioned above, the right beverage is seemingly what is making the experience complete. Grab a coffee or a tea, walk around, and admire the art. You can take aesthetic photos along the walls and enjoy a beautiful view from the top of the hill, where you can also see part of the Seoul fortress wall. As you can probably guess - this is also a free experience! Except for the beverage of course. Location: 49 Naksan 4-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul 3. Bike ride along the Han River Seoul is filled with bikes, whether you're living here or visiting you will most definitely see some riding past you on a scooter, e-bike, or regular bicycle. Most common are the bicycles which people usually rent or borrow and return or stop riding once they get to their destination. Very Eco-Friendly! The most common app to use to rent bikes is called 따릉이 (Ddareungi) and looks like this: 따릉이 is a bike-sharing system that was established in Seoul in 2015. It is also called Seoul Bike in English. Ddareungi usually takes foreign cards (the last time we tried, it worked)! You first have to download the app and register and then scan the bike that you'd like to use (if you're in front of it). • Want To Look Like Your Favorite K-Drama Actress? Here's How! Easy K-Beauty Steps To Follow!

K-Beauty, short for Korean Beauty, is a rapidly growing beauty trend that has gained popularity worldwide. Known for its innovative products and unique beauty rituals, K-Beauty offers a variety of skincare and makeup products that are designed to promote healthy, radiant skin. Whether you are a skincare enthusiast or just getting started with your beauty routine, diving into K-Beauty can be both exciting and overwhelming! In this guide, we will explore the basics of K-Beauty and provide tips on how to get started with building your own K-Beauty routine! Step 1: Learn the basics of Korean beauty philosophy, including the importance of hydration and a multi-step skincare routine. Korean beauty philosophy emphasizes the importance of hydration and a multi-step skincare routine. Keeping the skin hydrated is seen as crucial for achieving a smooth, plump complexion. The multi-step routine typically includes cleansing, toning, treating, and moisturizing. Each step is meant to prepare the skin for the next, helping to maximize the effectiveness of each product used. Korean skincare also places an emphasis on prevention rather than just treating existing skin issues, with many products containing ingredients like antioxidants to help protect the skin from damage and aging. Step 2: Identify your skin type and concerns so that you can choose products that will target them effectively! Determining your skin type is essential in choosing the appropriate Korean skincare products. If you have oily skin, go for oil-control and sebum-reduction products that address acne. Dry skin types benefit from hydrating and moisturizing products. For combination skin, oil and water skincare products are the most suitable. Korean products are ideal if you want to tackle anti-aging signs as they contain powerful antioxidants and skin-plumping ingredients. Even people with sensitive skin can benefit from Korean skincare products that are hypoallergenic and free of harsh chemicals. Whatever your concerns, a K-beauty product can solve it! Step 3: Start with a double cleanse using an oil-based cleanser and a water-based cleanser to resolve makeup and impurities thoroughly. To achieve a deep cleanse, it's essential to start with a double cleanse method. Begin with an oil-based cleanser to break down makeup and sunscreen residue, then follow up with a gentle water-based cleanser to finish removing impurities from the skin's surface. This approach is particularly helpful for those with oily or acne-prone skin types, as the oil-based cleanser helps regulate oil production and unclog pores. A double cleanse will leave your skin feeling refreshed, soft, and ready for further skincare treatments. Step 4: Use toners and essences to hydrate and nourish your skin. Toners and essences are essential in hydrating and nourishing your skin. Toners help balance your skin's pH levels and remove any impurities, while essences contain active ingredients that penetrate deeper into your skin, delivering hydration and nutrients. They provide a boost of hydration that can help soothe and calm sensitive skin and promote a more even skin tone. Using toners and essences in your daily skincare routine can help improve the overall health and appearance of your skin, leaving it feeling soft, supple, and well-nourished. Step 5: Incorporate serums, ampoules, and sheet masks to target specific concerns, such as acne, fine lines, or hyperpigmentation. To address specific skincare concerns, serums, ampoules, and sheet masks can be incorporated into your routine. Serums and ampoules are highly concentrated formulas designed to target specific concerns such as acne, fine lines, or hyperpigmentation. They are applied after cleansing and toning and before moisturizing to provide a boost of active ingredients to the skin. Sheet masks, on the other hand, are single-use masks soaked in a variety of serums and nutrients that are left on the skin for a short period of time. These can be used weekly to enhance treatment efficacy and promote overall skin health. Step 6: Don't forget to use eye cream, sunscreen, and lip balm as part of your routine! To ensure your skin is properly taken care of, incorporating eye cream, sunscreen, and lip balm into your daily routine is a must! The delicate skin around your eyes requires special attention and hydration to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. Regularly applying sunscreen helps shield your skin from harmful UV rays and reduces the risk of skin cancer. Similarly, lip balm provides essential moisture to your lips while protecting them from the damaging effects of cold weather and harmful UV rays. So, never forget to include these three skincare essentials in your daily regimen for healthy and beautiful skin. Step 7: Experiment with different products and brands to find what works best for your skin. Finding the right skincare product can be a challenge, but experimenting with different products and brands will help you discover what works best for your skin type. Not all products are created equal, and what may work for one person may not work for another. It's important to consider factors such as ingredients, texture, and the purpose of the product. Conduct patch tests before incorporating new products into your routine, and keep a record of how your skin reacts to them. With time and patience, you'll be able to establish a personalized skincare routine that suits your needs. Step 8: Enjoy the process and the results of your glowing, healthy skin. #K-beauty #KoreanBeauty #KBeauty #Korean #Beauty #SkinCare #Girls
