On January 7, 2025, the official trailer for Newtopia  was released by streaming platforms Netflix and Prime Video, sending fans into a frenzy with its exciting spoilers. The drama is set in a post-zombie apocalypse world, where Jisoo plays Kang Young Ju, who breaks up with her slow-witted boyfriend, Lee Jae Yoon, portrayed by Park Jeong Min. As a result, large-crowd New Year's celebrations were canceled, along with the highly anticipated 2024 MBC Entertainment Awards, and some television and radio broadcasts. These included the singing competition The King Of Mask Singe r, Gag Concert , Boss in the Mirror, and 2 days & 1 Night, among others. There is no formal bill to stop entertainment activities during the period of national mourning, however it is customary for agencies and artists to suspend their promotions and activities in order to pay respect to the victims and their families during this time.
