"I literally had to have, like, straight A's. Then I could get the Kyrie 3s", James of CORTIS shares his sneaker knowledge with Joe La Puma, the host of Complex Sneaker Shopping. The group made history again, becoming the first K-pop group to be featured on the show. The boys couldn't hide their excitement as they stared at the walls of sneakers while talking about their latest Vans collab.

After the group made K-pop history, performing at the annual NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game in February, Martin confirmed that he's been playing a lot of NBA 2K since. CORTIS also shared their favorite dance sneakers: Nike Cortez, Nike Dunks, and Nike Air Force 1s. Joe confidently poked fun at the group by showing them a clip of the sole of a sneaker coming off during a dancing video of the group. Once again, James shared his knowledge of sneakers by stating, "Sometimes when you buy vintage shoes, the soles will come off since they're glued on."

When talking about their influences from fashion to style, Martin explained that the group was exposed to "everything" growing up. "When I was young, my dad would show me Alice in Chains and Oasis. From punk rock to Nirvana. I just grew up listening to those bands", said Martin, who is of South Korean-Canadian descent.

After becoming guest performers at the NBA All-Star Weekend, CORTIS confirmed that they became more knowledgeable about basketball sneakers and more comfortable in themselves through fashion.

When asked about the difference in street culture between wearing Black Air Force 1's in the States versus Korea, the boys hilariously explained that in Korea, "people just wear them lowkey, but sometimes show off by wearing the subtle Supreme ones." Martin was lowkey nodding in the back while Joe was explaining the cultural differences in wearing the sneaker.

CORTIS was not hesitant to plug their recent viral single "REDRED" and their upcoming EP GREENGREEN, scheduled to drop on May 4, which focuses on the themes of artistic growth and identity, with the members involved in songwriting, choreography, and visuals.
