If your idea of a perfect K-pop weekend involves photocards, random play dances, fan-made merch, dance performances, trading with fellow stans, and spending way too much time saying “OMG, I NEED THAT ONE!”, Anaheim is about to become your happy place.

K-PLAY! FEST Orange County 2026 is taking over the Anaheim Convention Center on August 22–23, bringing two full days of K-pop fandom, Korean culture, performances, dance activities, vendors, fan clubs and—perhaps most importantly for collectors—a dedicated Photocard Trading Area.
And honestly? The photocard trading setup might be one of the biggest reasons collectors should make this event a priority.
K-PLAY! FEST Is Built for K-Pop Fans
K-PLAY! FEST describes itself as a fan-hosted K-pop festival made “For Fans, By Fans.” Instead of simply watching artists perform from a distance, the event is designed around the things fans actually love doing together: trading, dancing, shopping, creating, playing games and meeting other fans.
This year's Orange County edition runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23, at the Anaheim Convention Center, 800 W. Katella Ave.
The weekend is also happening alongside ANIME Impulse OC and Collectors Expo, giving visitors even more to explore under the same roof. ANIME Impulse confirms that attendees with an ANIME Impulse OC ticket receive free access to K-PLAY! FEST and Collectors Expo as well.
But for K-pop collectors, there is one place that deserves to be circled on the map in glitter pen.
The Photocard Trading Area Is THE Place to Be!
Let's be real: K-pop photocards have evolved way beyond being little bonuses tucked inside albums.
They're collectibles, memories, trading currency, and sometimes the reason you bought an album in the first place.
K-PLAY! FEST knows exactly how seriously collectors can get about that tiny piece of glossy cardstock. The festival has created a dedicated Photocard Trading Area where fans can bring their own photocards and trade with fellow collectors.
And that changes the entire experience.
Instead of trying to find another fan somewhere in a massive convention hall, collectors have a designated place to sit down, open their binders and start the most universally understood K-pop conversation:
“Who are you looking for?”

Whether you're hunting for a missing member, trying to complete an era, looking for a bias photocard, or simply bringing duplicates you've been waiting to trade, this is exactly the kind of fan-to-fan interaction that makes K-pop conventions special.
The festival has also promoted its photocard trading and deco experience featuring K PLACE, a Southern California-based K-pop retailer known for official albums, merchandise, and exclusive releases, as the host! FREEBIES will be handed out to participants in addition to the raffle!
And Yes, You Can Decorate Your New Favorite Card
Here's where the photocard experience gets even cuter.
After making a trade, fans can head over to the Deco Station to create a personalized toploader for their favorite photocard. K-PLAY! FEST says limited decorating materials will be available, so collectors should keep that in mind when planning their visit.
Basically:
Trade card → decorate toploader → take photos → immediately show your moots.
That's a full K-pop fan afternoon right there.
And if you're the type of collector who has a carefully curated binder but still keeps buying sleeves, stickers, and tiny decorative charms “just in case,” this area was practically designed for you.
What K-Pop Activities Can Fans Expect?
The photocard area isn't the only fan-focused attraction.
💃 Random Play Dance
K-PLAY! FEST will host Random Play Dance sessions, giving fans the chance to jump onto the floor when a song they know comes on. The official event page says attendees can check the stage schedule for designated RPD times.
Translation: You may arrive saying you're “just going to watch” and somehow end up dancing to your ult group's title track in front of hundreds of people.
It happens.
🕺 K-PLAY! OFFs
Dance crews will also compete in K-PLAY! OFFs, the festival's K-pop dance competition.
The 2026 Orange County competition features a $1,000 first-place prize, with second place receiving $500 and the third-place team earning credentials for K-PLAY! FEST Orange County 2027. The final round will feature the top 10 selected teams.
For dance-cover fans, this is definitely one of the weekend's events to watch.
🎀 Free Dance Workshops
Not ready to compete? No problem.
K-PLAY! FEST says its dance workshops are free, and no previous experience is required. The festival also highlights TEAM BUK among the instructors.
So yes, you can potentially learn choreography and then immediately test your new skills during Random Play Dance.
Dangerous? Maybe.
Fun? Absolutely.
🧠 BTS K-pop Trivia
Calling all ARMYs.
The festival is also hosting BTS K-pop Trivia, where fans can test their knowledge against fellow BTS fans for a chance to win prizes.
This is where casually knowing BTS trivia and having an alarming amount of BTS trivia stored in your brain finally pays off.
📸 Photo-Ops & Fan Clubs
There will also be dedicated photo-op areas around the hall, plus fan clubs hosting meet-ups for fans who want to connect with others who share their ult groups.
That's an underrated part of K-pop events: walking in alone and leaving with three new mutuals because you happened to compliment someone's photocard binder.
What About K-Pop Artists and Performances?
K-PLAY! FEST isn't just about collecting and fan activities. The festival's official Orange County page promises live performances throughout the weekend, including dance crews, special guests and other performers.
The festival has also built its identity around live K-pop entertainment, dance programming and community-driven performances rather than making the weekend solely about one headline concert. The official event materials emphasize the combination of performers, Random Play Dance, dance workshops, K-PLAY! OFFs and fan activities.

That's worth remembering when planning your schedule: K-PLAY! FEST is much more of an interactive K-pop festival than a traditional concert.
And that's kind of the point.
Previous K-PLAY! FEST events have featured artists and performers including 1VERSE and Sunkis, while past editions have also brought artists such as JUNNY to the Anaheim stage.
For the 2026 Orange County weekend, fans should keep an eye on the festival's official schedule and performer announcements for the latest confirmed lineup.
Why the Photocard Area Could Steal the Weekend
Here's the thing about K-pop fandom: sometimes the best memories aren't necessarily the biggest performances.
They're the random moments.
Finding the photocard you've been searching for six months.
Meeting another fan who biases the same member.
Trading a duplicate for a card you thought you'd never find.
Decorating a toploader while talking about your favorite comeback.
Opening your binder and realizing someone across the table has the same ult group.
That's what makes the K-PLAY! FEST Photocard Trading Area particularly exciting.
The festival isn't treating photocards as merchandise sitting on a vendor table. It's treating collecting as a social part of K-pop fandom.
And that's a pretty big distinction.
Your K-PLAY! FEST Collector Survival Kit
If you're planning to hit the trading area, don't show up empty-handed.
Bring:
Your tradeable photocards
Protective sleeves
A photocard binder
Extra toploaders
Small bags or card holders
A wishlist of cards you're hunting
Your phone for checking versions and references
Some cash/card for vendors and food
Comfortable shoes—you'll be walking
And, most importantly, your trading manners
Know the condition of your cards, be upfront about what you're offering, and don't pressure someone into a trade they're not comfortable with.
The goal is to leave with a card you're excited about—not a trade you regret five minutes later.
The Ultimate K-Pop Fan Weekend?
K-PLAY! FEST Orange County 2026 is shaping up to be the kind of event where you can spend the morning trading photocards, learn choreography before lunch, jump into Random Play Dance in the afternoon, browse Artist Alley, meet fellow fans, watch performances, and somehow still find yourself shopping for one more photocard before the doors close.
And yes, that last photocard will absolutely be the one you “weren't planning to buy.”
The festival takes place August 22–23 at the Anaheim Convention Center, with event hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. General admission passes are currently listed by the organizers, with prices subject to change.
For K-pop fans, though, the biggest draw may not be a stage at all.
It could be a table surrounded by binders, sleeves, stickers and excited collectors asking the question every photocard fan knows:
“What are you looking for?”
And honestly, that's where the K-pop magic happens.
See you at the trading table! 💿📸💖
