After his military discharge, Lee Do-hyun is finally back, and this time, he’s stepping into the mysterious world of Grand Galaxy Hotel. The upcoming Netflix fantasy drama is already gaining buzz for being the next masterpiece from the Hong Sisters (Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran), the creative minds behind Hotel Del Luna.

With director Oh Choong-hwan also returning, fans are convinced that Grand Galaxy Hotel could either be a spiritual sequel or set in the same universe as Hotel Del Luna. The reunion of this iconic team has raised expectations sky-high!

Story of Grand Galaxy Hotel

The drama takes place in a hotel that opens only at midnight, hidden in the middle of the city. However, this hotel doesn’t serve humans; it’s exclusively for spirits of the afterlife.

Lee Do-hyun plays Eun-ha, the new owner who unexpectedly inherits the mysterious establishment after the previous owner disappears. As he takes charge, he begins uncovering the secrets buried within the hotel, which seem to bridge the living world and the world of the dead. His calm yet secretive personality hides a past that slowly unfolds as the series progresses.

Meet the Cast of Grand Galaxy Hotel

While none of the original Hotel Del Luna actors are confirmed to appear, Grand Galaxy Hotel introduces an impressive new lineup.

Shin Shi-ah, who rose to fame with Resident Playbook (2025), stars as Ko Sang-soon, the hotel’s only human employee. Dedicated and kindhearted, she manages the hotel while forming unique friendships with the spirits who check in.

Lee Soo-hyuk, known for his roles in Tomorrow and Doom at Your Service, plays Baek-ki, a free-spirited Grim Reaper who helps cleanse the remnants of evil spirits in the living world.

Lee Soo-hyun, a rookie actress who made her debut earlier this year with the thriller short Family Matters, appears as Seok-san, a mysterious woman with a vicious and seductive aura.

Possible Connection to Hotel Del Luna

Although nothing has been officially confirmed, fans are already speculating whether Grand Galaxy Hotel might exist in the same universe as Hotel Del Luna. Thematically, both revolve around hotels that serve as a resting place for souls, mysterious owners with emotional baggage, and ghostly guests seeking closure.

And with Lee Do-hyun, who played Go Chung-myung, Man-wol’s (IU) tragic love now returning as Eun-ha, a CEO with a secretive past, it’s hard not to wonder: could this be a reincarnation or a parallel version of his past self?

Even if the series isn’t a direct sequel, Grand Galaxy Hotel seems to inherit the essence of Hotel Del Luna’s world-building, a blend of fantasy, sorrow, and second chances.

Lee Do-hyun’s New Era Begins

Lee Do-hyun is often praised for his versatility, from the emotional depth of Youth of May to the layered performance in The Glory. His portrayal of Eun-ha, a handsome and mysterious CEO with a painful past, is expected to be both emotional and magnetic.

Fans can already imagine him in a sharp tuxedo, wine glass in hand, maintaining a calm exterior while hiding secrets of both life and death. His chemistry with Shin Si-ah is another exciting highlight, marking her first lead role after gaining attention in Resident Playbook.

What to Expect

Grand Galaxy Hotel promises a blend of fantasy, mystery, and heartfelt storytelling. It’s expected to explore emotional backstories of each character, much like Hotel Del Luna, where even short arcs left a lasting emotional impact.

With the Hong Sisters’ signature writing, a stunning new cast, and Netflix’s global reach, Grand Galaxy Hotel is going to be one of the most anticipated K dramas of 2026.

Do you think Grand Galaxy Hotel will connect directly to Hotel Del Luna or will it tell a whole new story from the same universe?
