We tried the viral, ARMY-approved potion so you don't have to—here is the unfiltered truth!

South Korea has amazing beaches to visit and explore all year round; however, the iconic Surffy Beach in Yangyang is one of our favorites. Our writer, Lewis Hooper, recently visited this famous sandy spot and, during his visit, stumbled upon a BTS-inspired pop-up event promoting their newly released drink, ARIH. He was finally able to grab a can to see if this BTS-inspired sensation is actually liquid magic or just clever marketing.
ARIH Pop-up

This one-off ARIH pop-up event will run throughout the peak summer season on the famous Surffy Beach.
Visitors can enjoy on-site games and competitions, as well as free tastings of the newly released ARIH drink line. Since this drink range focuses on being a postbiotic drink, it is the perfect way to hydrate after spending the day in the sun. That's not all, though, as visitors can also enjoy high-energy DJ sets, photo zones, and chilled tasting stations this summer.
Flavor Breakdown
Although there are various flavors available, the on-site staff at the pop-up event gave us a blueberry and an orange-flavored can to try. So, what did they really taste like?
Blueberry: The blueberry can actually stands out, as it bursts with a bright, candy-sweet berry flavour that quickly smooths out into a cool, floral note with a light sparkling finish. Although it did taste a little artificial, especially towards the end of the can.
Orange: The orange can actually tasted like a sunny blast of tangy citrus that softened into a creamy, smooth vanilla warmth on the back end. This can was much easier to drink, and it had a similar flavour to other fizzy orange drinks on the market.
The Winner: The orange can was the clear winner here, thanks to its smooth and nostalgic taste. However, the blueberry easily takes top honors for its crisp, refreshing depth during the first few sips.

Final Thoughts
For Lewis Hooper and the Dojeon Media team, this BTS-inspired product certainly leans more into the novelty merchandise category. Although these ARIH drinks have a distinct taste, they do come across as a little too artificial. If you happen to spot the pop-up while exploring South Korea's coastline, then it is definitely worth grabbing a can to try. If you do, don't forget to tag us in your photos!
