- "I'm just irreplaceable" — Jay Park keeps it "real" with a new album and more!
From alcohol to running multiple record labels, performing live shows, and broadcasting, K-pop idol, Jay Park shows us how he keeps it "real". With 20 years of Korean entertainment experience, the Korean-American idol is back with a new album and more! We cover all things Park Jae Bom right now! Jay Park is, rightfully so, a household name in Korea. During my four years there, I have heard countless people talk about the Korean-American star, and all of their conversations have been positive. Jay Parks, career has been going on for some time now, and although he was part of the band, 2PM , in 2009, his stint with the band was cut short in 2009 when his old online comments about his difficulty adapting to an unfamiliar country surfaced, drawing harsh criticism from the media and the public. He eventually parted ways with the band and returned to his hometown of Seattle, Washington. After Park’s return to the United States, public perceptions changed after people realized that his online messages had been taken out of context, leading to a strong demand for his return. He re-debuted as a solo artist in 2010, and from there he has gained success on a global scale. Park Jae Bom (his Korean name) has become one of the biggest names in the Asian entertainment industry as a recording artist, founder of three well-known South Korean music labels, and an entrepreneur, with a Korean liquor brand . The star really has been an all-rounder in the entertainment industry, which is why I believe having tried his hand at many different things, has made him successful. In an interview, Park talked about his long-overdue fan meeting, being the first K-pop star to open an OnlyFans account, and his upcoming foray into K-pop management with two bands set to debut. I am surprised to hear that he opened an OnlyFans account, as many Western idols would not dare to do this, but equally, I am not surprised to hear that he has, as "sex" sells, and with his large following I think that would be an easy income stream for the star to have on the side. Let's look at a short clip from one of his recent interviews in Seoul! Back to R&B roots Back with a full-length album after five years, Jay Park released "The One You Wanted" on October 8, 2024. Filled with 20 new R&B songs — nine which are new and 11 released in the past — Park explains why this album is so special to him. " I think people are going to think that this album won’t have a big impact. But that’s what I’m going for — a timeless classic that’s listened to five, 10 years from now ," Jay Park stated during a press conference earlier this month. He continues to explain why he is the only one in the industry qualified to create this type of music: “I’m the only person who can make these kinds of songs,” he said. “I know that I’m the only artist who has this kind of experience and can make this style of music. I hope that people listen to it a lot, but even if they don’t, I know that people will always hear my music and think, ‘Isn’t this Jay Park?’ because I’m just irreplaceable.” Let us know your favorite song by this amazing K-pop singer in the comments below! #박재범 #JayPark #TOYW #THEONEYOUWANTED #GimmeAMinute #GAM #박재범_10월8일_정규발매 #MOREVISION #모어비전

- Why are so many Korean celebrities being "canceled"? What does it mean and how does it affect them?
Korean celebrities are held to very high moral standards, so even a slip-up in what they say or do can affect their careers. "Cancel culture" globally has hit an all-time high, and Korea is not exempt. So why are so many Korean celebrities being "canceled"? We find out! Who’s heard of "cancel culture"? Recently at the forefront of scandals, we saw Korean singer Jessi and her entourage be framed for a fan assault. This of course sparked vicious allegations and suspicions that one of her producers may be linked to a Korean gang. On the 14th, the victim of the assault appeared on JTBC's CRIME CHIEF , sharing his thoughts on Jessi's apology. The show's host explained, "The victim, a minor at the time, approached Jessi on the streets of Gangnam, asking for a photo. After being politely rejected, he was about to leave when a group of men accompanying Jessi suddenly assaulted him — one punched him in the stomach, and another pushed his head down." CCTV footage of the incident was aired once again. Looking at other incidents that have occurred in the past, some fans have taken to social media to express their views on why they believe some celebrities are being "canceled". Let's check out this post from Reddit. The phrase “cancel culture” is said to have originated from a relatively obscure slang term – “cancel,” referring to breaking up with someone – used in a 1980s song. This term was then referenced in film and television and later evolved and gained traction on social media. Over the past several years, cancel culture has become deeply contested. There are plenty of debates over what it is and what it means, including whether it’s a way to hold people accountable, a tactic to punish others unjustly, or a mix of both. And some argue that cancel culture doesn’t even exist . Let us know your thoughts on this topic in the comments below. #cancelculture #canceled #kpop #entertainment #kdrama #outtogetyou #jessi

- Why is celebrity segregation about to begin at Incheon Airport?
Have you always loved waiting for your favorite celebrity to arrive at an airport? Well, as many of us have at one point in our lives, it won't be happening at Incheon Airport anymore. Read on to find out why! It has been announced that Incheon Airport plans to segregate and install separate entrances and exits for celebrities in the very near future. This new procedure will allow celebrities to use the airport more discretely when traveling from Incheon. This of course was not a decision that was taken lightly, and in fact, it has been found out that Incheon International Airport Corporation sent an official notice titled "Request for Cooperation in Compliance with the Procedure for Using Incheon Airport’s Dedicated Gate for Artist Departures" to entertainment agencies. This has stemmed from a number of incidents from both fans, private security and stars themselves over the past year or so. A document was later shared online which we are able to see below: This official document states: “To minimize situations that may lead to crowded gatherings, we have established a new procedure allowing celebrities and other public figures to use a dedicated entry and exit door at Incheon Airport. This will be implemented starting October 28, 2024.” This legislation seems to have been pushed through the right channels, in order to implement it without any delay. Recently, actor Byeon Woo Seok sparked controversy during his solo fan meeting tour in Hong Kong. He was reported to have flashed a camera at ordinary passengers, inspected the business rights of lounge users on the second floor, and attempted to control the gate for the general public, raising concerns about what has been dubbed "Emperor's Security". Let's check out some social media posts about this incident which recently made headlines. In response to such incidents, Incheon International Airport Corporation held a meeting with officials from major domestic entertainment agencies on the 20th to discuss a Celebrity Manual. The corporation requested that celebrities inform them of their personnel arrangements for security, aiming to reduce their time spent in the terminal and maintain order to prevent excessive crowding due to celebrities’ immigration activities. Incheon airport is Korea's main airport, and as the leading airport and the gateway to Korea, many celebrities will need to pass through this airport daily. Should they be treatet differently because of their job? Let's check out one of the changing moments when Byeon Woo Seok arrived at Incheon Airport! The Airport Corporation sent official letters to entertainment companies on July 29 urging them to refrain from exploiting their artists' popularity by leaking travel schedules in advance and to promote a culture of quiet arrivals and departures. This is because many agents, people who work close to the stars, or sometimes the stars themselves post on social media that they will be 'coming to Korea on X date', for example, which leads fans to head to the airport to try and catch a glimpse of their favorite star, or the chance to get a selfie with them. Although this is good publicity for the star and entertainment company, it can negatively affect other passengers, staff, and people trying to do their jobs at the airport. During the incident with Byeon, Byeon’s private security guards came under fire in July for blocking the airport gates, flashing lights at passengers in the airport lounge, and arbitrarily checking some passengers' tickets and passports without proper authorization from the airport, citing a need to protect the actor. He is not the only celebrity to be swarmed with adoring fans on arrival or departure at the Incheon airport. Let's take a look at a few more: Will this new segregation have any effect on lessening incidents at Incheon airport, or will they find a way to continue? Let us know your thoughts on this new procedure in the comments below. #bts #conan #incheon #incheonairport #celebrity #seoul #korea #koreatravel #policy #papped #paparazi #jungkook #byeon

- From meeting King Charles to creating their own K-culture societies, K-pop fans in the UK find sense of community
With K-pop becoming more popular in the UK , K-pop fans in the UK find sense of community. From meeting King Charlies to creating their own university societies, UK fans have found a common ground to share their passion for K-culture! Let's take a closer look! There are a growing number of universities across the UK which pride themselves on their variety of club choices which are available to students, from sports and music to more niche interests. One of these arguably includes the ever-growing nature of K-pop societies , seen more and more frequently as the South Korean music industry extends its reach around the globe. From Sheffield, to Cardiff and Glasgow, university K-pop societies typically engage members in a mix of K-Pop choreography dance classes, K-drama viewings, and Korean language learning sessions to name just a few activities these societies boast. With B LACKPINK seen in the picture above meeting King Charles, these types of media images help Korea to export their culture to other countries from the top tier levels. Check out this video! Speaking from experience! The main interest that I remember in K-pop in the UK was of course when PSY performed "Gangnam Style" , as at the time of it's release this song was everywhere, and of course this was due to it's catchy tune and crazy dance moves. As we saw in the snippet from a Channel 4 documentary, even girl groups in the UK are starting to try and call themselves "K-pop" groups, however since their origin is in the UK and not Korea I find this hard to comes to terms with, even if they sang in fluent Korean and danced the same as Korean artists. The increase in K-pop and K-culture in the UK has led to incredible statistics and developments across the country; BTS sold out both of their Wembley Stadium concert dates back in 2019 to 60,000 fans, and K-pop albums have become available in-store in HMVs, ASDAs. Now, UK-based Korean stores such as SOKOLLAB and KStars, and K-pop societies at university have become the opposite of few and far between, and I think the trend will continue to see an increase in popularity and demand. I remember when I visited the UK last year and Korean music was known in a lot more places, and food products on some of the supermarket shelves, and in 2024 Seventeen performed at the UK summer concert Glastonbury . There really is starting to be an increase in small groups of people who are interested in K-pop and K-culture in the UK, and I think that it is great to have a group to meet people with similar interests. I hope that this continues to grow! Let us know your thoughts on this topic in the comments below. #kpop #kingcharles #blackpink #buckinghampalace #kpopuk #ukkpopcommunity #kculture

- Ever wonder why there are so many tall K-pop idols/K-drama actors? South Korea is the tallest Asian country! Here's why!
The number of tall K-pop idols has increased so we at Dojeon Media have wondered: Why are South Koreans the tallest in Asia? We have all the interesting details! Read on to find out more! Compared to other Asian countries like China and Japan, South Korea has recorded the highest measurements in Asia in terms of height. Of course, there are several factors related to this, so let's take a look! So what is considered tall in Korea? Many young male Korans are listed as completing their mandatory military service, as many of the BTS members currently do. I believe that this is one of the main factors as to why male Koreans have increased in height over the past decade as their diet is heavily censored, activities, and time spent at the gym. Not only this, but the diet in South Korea has changed significantly in the past 50 years, as Korea was once a very poor country and as a result many Koreans did not have a balanced diet unlike today where there is almost every food imaginable available especially protein items. Having a balanced diet helps your body maintain and gain muscle and help your body function more. So how did Koreans get so much taller? Let's take a look at this video! Koreans are the tallest nationalities in East Asia with their males' average height measuring three centimeters more than that of their Japanese counterparts. In the case of the females, the average height of Koreans is 2.5 centimeters (0.9 inches) more than the Japanese which is impressive when you think about it, as Japan in the 70s and 80s was renowned for being advanced and having good quality of life compared to Koreans. In addition to this, people in the US are shrinking compared to Koreans which is growing. On Instagram, this street interview with YouTube star "K-explorer" featured one Korean man who was 193 cm (6 feet 4 inches) tall! Let's take a look! Additionally, South Korea is unique in how quickly the population has become taller. The change in household income from the poverty in the 1950s to the rich Koreans in the 2000s as Koreans are now one of the biggest spenders of luxury items due to the heavy industrial input in the 90s. The difference is particularly stark in height between South and North Koreans where the living standards couldn't be different and access to nutrition in the North is restricted unlike in the South. Will South Koreans continue to grow taller? Let us know your thoughts on this topic in the comments below. #koreanheight #korean #southkoreanheight #asian #asianheight #koreandiet
