  • How Netflix's new rom-com, "Mr. Plankton", captures the chaotic love vibe of "It’s Okay to Not Be Okay"

Netflix has just dropped the trailer for the highly-awaited romantic comedy of the year, Mr. Plankton . Set to release on November 8, 2024, the drama will feature 10 episodes. The series stars Woo Do Hwan ( Bloodhounds 2023) and Lee Yoo Mi (Nam Soon, Strong Girl Nam Soon 2023) in the lead roles, with supporting performances by Oh Jung Se ( It’s Okay to Not Be Okay 2020) and Kim Hae Sook ( My Demon 2023-2024). Directed by Hong Jong Chan, known for Juvenile Justice  and Dear My Friends , the series is written by Jo Yong, the screenwriter of the beloved It’s Okay to Not Be Okay . This has raised fan expectations for a similarly thrilling and emotional experience. The drama promises more than a typical rom-com, with the tagline “A last love romantic comedy of two drifting souls”. This hints at an emotional yet humorous journey between two flawed characters. The story follows Hae Jo ( Woo Do Hwan ), who, after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, reunites with his ex-girlfriend Jae Mi ( Lee Yoo Mi ). Jae Mi is grappling with premature menopause, complicating her future as a prospective bride. In a spontaneous decision, Hae Jo kidnaps Jae Mi on the day of her wedding, sparking a chaotic road trip as they search for his real father. This journey, though unplanned, brings them closer, allowing Hae Jo to rediscover the joys of living despite his terminal illness. Woo Do Hwan portrays Hae Jo, a man whose life is in turmoil, which contrasts with his previous action-packed roles like in Bloodhounds . His performance here shows a more vulnerable, comedic side as he grapples with life’s uncertainties. Lee Yoo Mi, who recently wowed audiences in Strong Girl Nam Soon , steps into a more emotionally complex role as Jae Mi. Unlike her past characters, Jae Mi’s struggles are deeply personal, dealing with heartbreak and unexpected health issues but the chattiness is still the same. Fans of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay  are curious if Mr. Plankton  will follow the same quirky, chaotic style, given Jo Yong’s involvement. With characters battling emotional turmoil, there’s speculation that this drama will also strike a balance between humor and raw vulnerability. What are your thoughts on Mr. Plankton ? Do you think it will live up to the success of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay ? Let us know in the comments! #MrPlankton #ItsOkaytoNotBeOkay #WooDoHwan #LeeYooMin

Teach You a Lesson Poster of Teach You a Lesson (Credits: Netflix) Kim Moo-yul's Na Hwa-jin is not exactly the kind of person you want to challenge. As an official dealing with serious problems inside schools, he uses his intelligence, physical skills, and unconventional methods to take on bullies, violent students, and corrupt adults. Basically, he walks into chaos and makes it his problem to fix, and we couldn't stop watching. 3. A Bona Fide Killer Poster of A Bona Fide Killer (credits: Viki) What happens when a seemingly normal wife and mother is secretly a legendary assassin? That's where the fun begins. Gong Hyo-jin plays Yu Bo-na, aka Kingfisher, who returns to her dangerous profession while keeping her family life intact. The biggest twist? Her husband is investigating the assassin without realizing she is the person he's looking for. 4. Reborn Rich Poster of Reborn Rich (Credits: Google) Song Joong-ki's character gets something even more powerful than super strength: knowledge of the future. After being betrayed and killed, he wakes up decades earlier in the body of a wealthy family's youngest grandson. With his memories intact, he uses his knowledge to build wealth and plan his revenge. 5. Taxi Driver Lee Je-hoon in Taxi Driver (SBS) Lee Je-hoon's Kim Do-gi is a former special forces officer who joins a secret revenge service. With combat training, disguises, and great strategic skills, he repeatedly takes on criminals who think they are untouchable. Plus, we love the team banter, which gives this one a comedic twist. 6. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon Poster of Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (Credits: IMDb) Park Bo-young's Do Bong-soon may look adorable, but she has superhuman strength. She can take down groups of criminals while juggling romance, work, and everyday life. Cute and ridiculously powerful? Yes, please. 7. Tale of the Nine-Tailed Poster of Tale of the Nine-Tailed (Credits: Google) Lee Dong-wook plays Lee Yeon, a centuries-old gumiho with supernatural abilities. A former Mafia consigliere and skilled lawyer, he combines strategy, connections, and ruthless methods to take down powerful enemies. • Shin Ha Kyun is brilliant in new sinister lawyer drama "Evilive"

Dark, brooding, and full of rage, Shin Ha Kyun crosses over to the dark side of the law in the new crime drama Evilive! We break down three reasons why this drama is perfect to add to your Halloween binge list! Premiering on October 14, 2023, the new crime thriller from ENA and Genie TV, Evilive has captured our attention coming close to the Halloween season! Starring Shin Ha Kyun, from his amazing role as a "psycho" detective who tries to catch a serial killer in a small town in Beyond Evil (2021), Evilive is a must-watch! Synopsis Han Dong Soo (Shina Ha Kyun) is a case-by-case lawyer who picks up cases every day when visiting the prison system. He is rational and reasonable, like any normal human, but has an evil dark side. Han Beom Jae (Shin Jae Ha Taxi Driver 2 2023) is Han Dong Soo's half-brother and works part-time at a second-hand repair computer shop. He is also a case broker, bringing new cases to Han Dong Soo to work on. The two get struck by an unusual case of a former star high school baseball player turned gangster for a crime organization and their worlds get turned upside down. Here are our three reasons why Evilive should be at the top of your Halloween watch list! 1. Shin Ha Kyun is a master of his craft! Only two episodes into this new drama and all we can say is "wow"! Shin Ha Kyun is truly a master at anti-hero roles! Similar to his role in Beyond Evil where he is a two-faced detective, the same goes for his new role in Evilive. At times, his character, Han Dong Soo, is cheerful and a regular father, but a switch gets turned on when faced with a domestic issue with his wife and her supervisor and he goes nuts! Watching someone with such talent and skill is truly a breath of fresh air in the world of K-dramas! 2. A complex but stunning storyline Faced with several cases ongoing at the same time, such as the dispute between his wife and her work supervisor, Han Dong Soo feels guilty for not being able to support his family with the mediocre cases that he picks. That being said, he takes on a case that might put him over his head as his half-brother Han Beom Jae introduces him to a gambling ring run by a criminal enterprise. As usual, to avoid any suspicion, this criminal organization is very complex, and difficult to pinpoint the ring leader. Therefore Han Dong Soo and Han Beom Jae switch into detective mode and try to get under the crime organization's skin and disrupt their dealings. The story draws us more into the character development and the interaction between the brothers as they try to solve this case. Although complex, it is definitely worth the watch! 3. Character development is sensational! It is very hard to state a K-drama has good character development, but this one definitely takes the time to explain the details of each character's motivations and actions. From his wife's reasoning for borrowing money to help with his mother's accident at the senior home to his relationship with his half-brother, we can feel empathy for Han Dong Soo as he is trying his best for his family and himself. Shin Ha Kyun is a master at developing his characters and setting them up for the "big bang" as we are hooked and want to see more! Let us know if Evilive has gotten you to sit at the edge of your seat as we wait eagerly for next week's episode! Comment below! #evilive #enadrama
