- Song Joong Ki reflects on mixed opinions on his on-screen romance in new film "My Name is Loh Kiwan"
After a stellar performance in his return to the "big screen", actor Song Joong Ki sat down for an interview to reflect on the mixed opinions from fans about his on-screen relationship with drug-addict and rebellious daughter, Marie (played by Choi Sung Eun Beyond Evil 2021). Let's take a look at how this brilliant actor stood up to his critics! If you haven't read about how we raved about Song Joong Ki's performance in his latest Netflix film My Name is Loh Kiwan make sure you visit it here ! His acting and delivery in the new suspense drama is nothing short of brilliant! If you've seen the movie, his on-screen relationship with a drug-addicted daughter with an estranged father is quite something we've never seen before in a Song Joong Ki film or drama. In an interview set on March 6, 2024, the actor sat down in a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul to discuss his on-screen relationship with Marie, a Korean-Belgium he meets while trying to receive refugee status in the country. The first question was about his romance relationship with Marie ( Choi Sung Eun ). There were several hot and steamy scenes of the two rolling in bed that piqued curiosity from fans. "I think there are some likes and dislikes about the romance part," he said, adding, "I also rejected it at first for that reason." "I think there are some likes and dislikes about the romance part. I also rejected it at first for that reason." — Song Joong Ki about his relationship with Marie in My Name is Loh Kiwan We loved how Song Joong Ki is able to answer questions, but also put deep thinking and reasoning behind his words. He explained, "However, it is not a paper cup that a movie throws away after watching it once, just as I was able to relate to and enter the movie after a while. Even if you don't think it's fun and can't relate to it, you may change your mind again over time. I hope so and I hope you enjoy the movie. Of course, if it doesn't change even after a while, that's something I can't help. It's not something I can force." Very true! We also think that a film, especially of this genre, takes several looks to fully understand what is going on screen! We also loved how he is able to handle criticism by being flexible and how he can adapt to critics, even if they disagree. "I like to listen to opinions, whether it's good or bad. If I don't listen to them, I can't study," he said. When asked if he has any regrets about the criticism he's received from the role he added, "Various reviews are natural. I accept it, not regret." Song Joong Ki goes on to explain why he decided on choosing this role and why he embraces the criticism. "It can't be a simple numerical value, and it's not easy for me to talk about my work like this, but I want to stamp it as if it's 'Well done' even if it's not 'You did a great job,'" Song Joong Ki said. "It's a subjective, but it's even more so because it's a work that I personally love." From overseas allocation to people from various cultures to the director's first production, it was not an easy production in reality. I think I'm taking half of it with me just because I finished it well. That's why I want to say 'Good job' to you." We don't want to spoil the movie for you, make sure you check out our review of this amazing film here ! We feel that his on-screen romance is justified and makes sense regarding the circumstances that Loh Ki Wan is facing. The two characters come from disruptive and hurt backgrounds and find solace in each other! Comment with your thoughts on this on-screen relationship between the two leads! Do you agree or disagree? What was your favorite moment? Source: 1 #MyNameisLohKiwan #netflixmovie #netflixfilm #netflixpremiere #SongJoongKi #ChoiSungEun
- A Brit's stay in the "Hawaii of South Korea", Jeju Island! And why you need to see it for yourself!
Having heard great things about the small island of Jeju , Dojeon Team Member, Lewis decided to travel to the "Hawaii of South Korea" himself. To say the least, coming from the UK, hungry for some winter sunshine, he was not disappointed. Lewis shares his experiences on why you're missing out if you don't plan a trip to this magnificent island! Jeju Island, or Jejudo is South Korea's largest island. Only a one-hour flight from Daegu on the mainland, I decided to take a short trip there. Of course, since this is a domestic trip, flights are often really cheap, so I paid 60,000 KRW ($45 USD) round trip. Many Koreans travel to Jeju, as it is famous for its black pork, oranges, and warmer climate and volcanic landscape. Coming from the UK, it reminded me of Lanzarote & the Canary Islands which are part of Spain. For the most part, you will need to hire a car on the island, as public transport is few and far between, outside of its capital city, though as I stayed on Hamdeok Beach , I decided to take a taxi from the airport and stay local during my stay. Hamdeok Beach, is around a 25-minute drive from the airport, boasts a beautiful scenic coastline, and has many restaurants, bars, and coffee shops ! The beautiful harbor area was a selling point for me, as I love to be by the water! Now, of course during the season that I visited the weather was windy and cool, however, I was still able to take a walk along the beach and enjoy being outside which is great! I enjoyed taking a hike to a viewpoint along the beach where I could look out across the bay and take some photos, enjoying a hot coffee as I walked up. For a day trip, I went to Manjanggul Cave, as I heard that it was a must-visit destination! To get here, I took a taxi, though depending where you stay on the island there are buses also. When I descended into the cave, I was taken aback by the natural beauty and lava stones which made some parts of the cave look like a turtle. I would recommend spending around 2 hours at the caves afterward and exploring the nearby restaurants afterwards, for some local foods and a traditional experience. Of course, Jeju Island has lots more to offer, from "Snoopy Gardens" to plentiful hiking and diving spots, or if you like Matcha, then you should check out its famous O'sulloc Team Museum and tea field s ! Let us know in the comments below if you have been to Jeju Island and what your favorite things are to see and do there! Also, comment which K-drama is your favorite that was filmed on this beautiful island! #JejuIsland #visitjeju

- "The Impossible Heir" raises concerns about the storyline, plot, and characters. Fans are not happy!
Disney+'s new revenge drama The Impossible Heir is making headlines, but not in a good way. Fans are concerned and worried about the writing and the characters in the show and they have let it known in the forums! Let's see what their concerns are about! What seemed like a glimmer of hope that Disney+ would be able to come out with a drama with amazing scriptwriting and acting performance has caused fans to come out sorely disappointed on the other end. We also had high anticipation for this drama as big names like Lee Jae Wook and Choi Jin Ho are part of the main cast. Only four episodes in and not only are fans concerned about the storytelling (plot holes, time skips, and lack of character development) but they are also offended by the use of an African non-profit organization as a way to launder illegal money for a Korean congressman. Check out this clip that made fans angry! Fans took to the forums to display their displeasure with the use of Africa and non-profit organizations in a negative light. Here are some comments about the issue: Additionally, most of the comments were about the female lead, Na Hye Won (played by Hong Su Zu ), personality, and her role in the drama. Many are also questioning the real motives behind her relationship with the second lead Kang In Ha (played by former U-KISS member Lee Jun Young ). For now, it seems that the writers and director have their hands full with the direction and character development in this drama. Additionally, with the use of Africa's non-profit organizations to line their own pockets, the evil villains in this drama might have to worry about more than what's on-screen. Comment below with your thoughts on The Impossible Heir ! Do you agree or disagree with what fans are saying? How about the use of African non-profit organizations in the script? We want to hear from you! #theimpossibleheir #HongSuZu #LeeJaeWook #LeeJunYoung #UKISS #Disneyplus
- This is why you should go skiing in South Korea!
Winter sports are a big business in South Korea, and skiing and snowboarding are very popular amongst many Koreans! Dojeon team member, Lewis, explains why these are a MUST when living/visiting Korea! Recently, I took a trip to Yongpyong Ski Resort in Gangwon-do , which is on the east coast of Korea. Now, I had been skiing only once before, and for sure I needed a ski lesson. A great thing about the resort is that they hold free ski classes for guests in both Korean and English! Though of course at peak times it is advisable to make a reservation like I did. The ski lesson was so much fun, and I learned how to stop, go, put on, and take off the equipment and, of course, I had so much fun falling over as well! This resort also had different levels of ski slope depending on your level, from beginner all the way to double black. Of course, as I was a beginner I stayed on the beginner slopes. The atmosphere around the slopes, was really awesome as there were lots of other guests both Korean and Foreign enjoying themselves together and taking in the experience! Around the village, there are lots of coffee shops , restaurants , and spas! I decided to take the gondola all the way up to the peak of the mountains, as I thought it would be a wonderful view over the village and allow me to take some memorable and Instagram-able photos ! Although this was the case, it was VERY cold at the peak so I could not spend a long time there. BUT, I do recommend riding the gondola when you visit here. At night, the park really did come to life! The ski slopes stayed open late, and there were many different types of restaurants to choose from, as well as arcades, bars, and bowling! These beautiful illuminations also led to fantastic photo opportunities for you to look back on the memorable trip! If you have wanted to give skiing or snowboarding a try, or if you are already experienced, Yongpyong Resort in Gangwon-do Korea is the place to go. I traveled from Daegu , but the distance from Seoul (and many tour operators also go here) is very short and will take around 90 minutes to 2 hours. Book your trip NOW: https://www.yongpyong.co.kr/eng/index.do Let us know in the comments below if you have ever experienced skiing in Korea, or if it's on your bucket list! #skiing #skitrip #winterfun #winterinsouthkorea #southkoreatraveldestination #southkorea #winterwonderland #skiresort

With many memorable events like Twice's Ready to Be World Tour, NCT 127's NEO CITY: THE UNITY World Tour, and Seventeen's Follow World Tour under our belt, it is an understatement to say that the Philippines has become a hotspot for all things K-Pop, for Filipinos and foreigners alike! Following their sold-out Manifesto Tour in February 2023, Enhypen returned a year later with powerful and impactful performances at New Clark City, resulting in a one-day concert that showcased their musical prowess and provided an unforgettable experience for their dedicated fanbase, the Engenes , as they capped off their Fate Tour. However, the celebration did not stop there. Curated specifically for Engenes, whether they attended the concert or not, FATED NIGHT stands as a distinguished testament to the immersive and enduring impact of K-pop on the Filipino cultural landscape. Beyond a mere after-party, it seamlessly intertwined elements reminiscent of not just Fate but also the prior concluded Manifesto Tour, creating an atmosphere of nostalgia and continuity. The event's allure stretched far beyond the concert hall, encapsulating the energetic vibes of the Manifesto Tour and the poignant resonance of the Fate Tour. Attendees found themselves immersed in a fusion of familiar beats, seamlessly intertwining elements reminiscent of both tours, resonating deeply with Engenes. The night unfolded with precision, offering a series of carefully curated experiences. DJ sets from AC3, Project Z, A Class, and Trainee Æ transformed the venue into a dynamic dance floor, where attendees moved to Enhypen's signature tunes. As these remixed hits played in the background, sponsored games by Jinro injected an element of friendly competition, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie that echoed the Fate Tour's shared experience of celebrating Enhypen's music. But FATED NIGHT transcended the conventional boundaries of a post-concert gathering. Attendees weren't merely spectators; they were active participants in a shared celebration. The free merchandise, generously provided by Globe and sponsors such as Padieyon , Koryanamerch , and Littlethingsmnl , elevated the event beyond a mere afterparty to a holistic experience. In recent years, the "K-Wave" sensation has been taking over Korea, and many other countries. As part of this, the interest and take-up of people creating viral videos related to dance has increased dramatically. To get a better understanding of why the "K-Wave" especially through dance has become so popular. We interviewed HYOR who is a dancer and YouTuber from Daegu , Korea to find out why this is! Now, you may already know him with an extensive following on social media (YouTube - 10,100 subscribers, TikTok - 317,900 followers, and Instagram 33,300 followers ) in the interview we discussed the highlights and challenges that he has faced in his career, but also what hurdles there are and obstacles for the younger generation since the rise of K-Culture outside of the big cities. You can subscribe to HYOR's YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@HYOR Can you please tell us about yourself? My name is Hyor, I am from Daegu, Korea, and I am a content creator, who specializes in dance. I create and upload content on YouTube and other social media platforms. Can you share more details about your performances? I mainly perform K-pop dance covers and short performance challenges. I tend to focus on group dances more, as they tend to have the biggest following and trends amongst the younger generation. I also think the strengths of my performances are my diverse facial expressions and relaxed dance moves. While participating in "RPD", I mainly try to show several different genres of dance through many songs, that my fans want to see. From the "K-Wave" culture, who has been your inspiration to create content? The person that had the biggest influence on me, has to be IU . I have admired her since I was young, and her success has inspired me to do well. Listening to her has taught me how to deal with any hurdles that I may face. So, whether I'm having a hard time or a happy time, I always feel comforted and motivated by the words of IU. She has been the driving force behind me and as a result, allowed me to create good content. Are there any artists that you would like to work with? It would be an honor to work with anyone, but I would like to work with IVE . They are a group that uses awesome dance moves and facial expressions well and a group, I think, suits me well. IVE has proudly revealed their own identity and have no hesitation in expressing it. I think that we would be able to work well together and achieve great things! What can we expect from you in 2024? My goal for this year is to intentionally develop myself further as a person. This will then let me challenge various genres, and shoot videos in various locations and with various appearances. I also want to collaborate with many people. I'm also planning to upload a dance tutorial video and give a lecture on how to use the facial expressions I use most, and hope that these tutorial videos will inspire other young dancers! Please say a few words to the readers at Dojeon Media! Thank you so much for supporting me, and I will continue to develop and improve, and create lot’s more content. Thank you so much for your anticipation, interest, & love. I love you all so much! - Lee Jae Wook delivers an impact award-winning performance in new revenge drama "The Impossible Heir"
Charismatic, smart, and purposeful, Lee Jae Wook pulls off award-winning acting for his new role in Disney+'s new revenge/thriller The Impossible Heir ! We break down three reasons why you should be tuning in! Reminiscent of Reborn Rich starring Song Joong Ki , Disney+'s new revenge/thriller The Impossible Heir has us dangling in anticipation for the next episode! Premiering on February 28, 2024, the drama already has audiences and netizens buzzing! Let's take a closer look! Spoilers! Revenge/thriller K-dramas come in handfuls, so how does The Impossible Heir fair compared to its counterparts? With great character development, acting, and story telling! The plot of the story is nothing to be excited about: an impoverished young man in a dire situation that dreams of becoming successful by using his best friend, an illegitimate son of Korea's largest conglomerate, to climb the corporate and social ladder. It's not the story, per se, that we're gloating about. It's more about how it is told and the characters that make it shine. If you haven't checked out our preview and trailer, click here for more info! 3 reasons Lee Jae Wook killed this role! 1. All work no play attitude Right from the get-go, Lee Jae Wook's character, Han Tae Oh, is serious and about his business. Desperate to change his life and to get himself, and his mother, out of a dangerous situation, he moves to an elite school where he meets his ticket to the social upper class. It is in high school where Tae Oh meets his rival and friend, Kang In Ha ( Lee Jun Young , former member of K-pop group U-KISS ). The two hate each other's guts and can't stand each other at first, but soon form a close bond to take down Korea's largest conglomerate, Kango Group. 2. Relationships, relationships, relationships What makes The Impossible Heir incredibly addicting is the character interactions with one another. The three leads, Han Tae Oh, Kang In Ha, and Na Hye Won ( Hong Su Zu Sweet Home 2 2023) have a classic love triangle going on during the first two episodes. What is very curious though is our thoughts on Na Hye Won. She seems to be very cunning and willing to use the two male leads' feelings for her to her advantage. Now, we're not entirely sure whether this will eventually bite her back in the future, but we're enjoying every moment between the push/pull relationship with Kang In Ha! 3. The bad guys always mess with our emotions! It would be easy if the bad guys were just, bad. But in this case, we can't help but wonder if the CEO of Kango Group, Kang Joong Mo ( Choi Jin Ho See You in My 19th Life 2023), Kang In Ha's father has sincere feelings for his illegitimate son. This might a case of father loves illegitimate son over real son (the eldest and most evil of the heirs to Kango Group)! The Impossible Heir airs every Wednesday with two episodes on Disney+. Let us know your thoughts about this amazing drama so far in the comments below! Who is your favorite character(s)? Share them with us! #TheImpossibleHeir #HongSuZu #LeeJaeWook #LeeJunYoung #UKISS #RebornRich #SongJoongKi #Disneyplus
