Coming off its recent comeback "KARMA", PIXY recently performed at the Loft at the Center Stage in Atlanta as a part of its 22-stop U.S. tour. Working with a new K-pop tour promoter Leo Presents, PIXY held its WINXY in awe throughout the whole afternoon and evening! Let's take a look at the concert! PIXY , is described as a group of fairies that lost their wings: Dia (Leader/Main Vocalist), Lola (Main Rapper/Visual), Sua (Sub Vocalist), Dajeong (Lead Vocalist), and Rinji (Main Dancer/Maknae). Previously known viral for its complex choreography and dark sound, the group showed how versatile they could be throughout their 80-minute-long concert. From graceful ballads such as "Still with me (To: Winxy)" to haunting songs such as "Falling", the group did not skip a beat. Similarities to another darker-themed K-pop group, Dreamcatcher , were immediately apparent. However, despite similar themes, each member put their own stamp on the performance. Between Lola’s and Rinji’s lower register raps and vocals and Sua’s, Dia’s, and Dajeong’s vocals, each song stood out. Unfortunately, because of an injury, Lola was not able to fully perform during the show. Other highlights included Dia’s solo stage where she covered Camila Cabello’s "Never Be The Same". Despite being alone on stage, her strong stage presence held the crowd in awe! Fans were able to interact with the idols early; Leo Presents held a full fan sign and group photo session for selected fans prior to the show. After the show, fans were also able to get individual selfies with each member! After Atlanta, the group moved on to perform two last concerts in Orlando and Tampa before returning to Korea. Throw in one of the hottest K-drama actors of all time and bam! You have the makings of a Hollywood movie disguised as a television series! Here are three reasons why Black Knight should be at the top of your streaming playlist! Set in the year 2071, the environment and concept of Black Knight have such a refreshing (oops, I mean, not so refreshing?) theme when the air is so polluted that humans must wear gas masks when they go outdoors. The landscape of South Korea has completely been disintegrated by a comet that crashed into Earth and left only as a desert wasteland. The overhead and zoomed-out shots are amazing considering that Netflix decided to leave some of South Korea's most important landmarks (such as the Lotte Tower ). And this leads us to our first reason! Breathtaking Visual Effects! Headed by Korea's best visual effects studio, VFX Studio Westworld, which worked on other dramas such as Sweet Home , Squid Game , and All of Us Are Dead , it is easy to see why the dystopian scenes look so realistic and immersive. Backed by Netflix's $2.5 billion investment in South Korea over the next four years means that South Korea will continue to dominate the global content industry for a while. According to VFX Studio, for the desert scenes, sand was laid on a construction site of 50,000 pyeong ( 165,289 square meters!), and a road was made with about 1 km of soil to digest various scenes filled with VFX. Robin Hood Effect Born and raised in the slums, 5-8 was supposed to be dead as he was shot and was ready to be burned with the rest of the refugees that Cheonmyeong Group thought were rioters. The time-traveling mystery drama My Perfect Stranger just got stranger! The lead role, Baek Yoon Young ( Jin Ki Joo Sh**ting Stars 2022), travels back to 1987 when her parents were still in high school to ever prevent them from liking each other! Let's take a look at what happened! Spoilers! So why is Yoon Young so adamant about not letting her parents meet? It would also mean that she wouldn't exist in the future right? Something to keep in mind as we continue why! Back to the present, her father, Baek Hee Seob, is a deadbeat drunkard who always causes trouble to Yoon Young and her mother. tVN and Studio Dragon 's Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 premiered this past weekend and we can't wait to share our thoughts on it with you! We give you three reasons why you should be watching! Following a stellar premiere, Tale of the Nine-tailed 1938 proved to be a weekend winner as it took first place in total nationwide viewership at 6.463% and 7.129% respectively for the first two episodes. The 12-episode series serves as the second season to the 2020 season Tale of the Nine-tailed with a storyline that is the prequel to the former. Following, Lee Yeon ( Lee Dong Wook ) as everyone's favorite sarcastic gumiho (nine-tailed fox), as he goes back to 1938 to save his half-gumiho brother, Lee Rang ( Kim Beom Ghost Doctor 2022). The two have a very complicated love/hate relationship which is very funny to watch! But not everything goes as smoothly as Lee Yeon plans as he has to run a bunch of errands in order to save his brother. The combination of action/adventure with a slice of humor is quite worth watching! Here are three reasons why we think Tale of the Nine-tailed 1938 should be on your Saturday/Sunday watchlist! Comical situations that make you think of your siblings! If you have a sibling, this drama will have you nodding your head along! Most of the "city or town scenes" look like your normal K-drama, but once they're outside in the wilderness or fighting on top of a moving train, it totally looks like an American Western. If many scenes of men riding horses while shooting guns don't give you the vibe, then maybe the unique clothing style (a cross between the Korean period and American Western) will convince you. The most popular K-pop survival show Fantasy Boys has hit a snag! Minutes after episode 6 finished airing, netizens took to online forums to debate whether the show is fair based on the on-site voting results. Some argued that some of the boys were unfairly placed. We break down what happened! Following episode 5 when the boys got to choose, by a random stroke of luck, their desired positions: rapper, vocalist, or dancer. Then each team was composed of two rappers, two vocalists, and three dancers. As each team performed, we were introduced to how they got along with each other and their struggles. Here are some angry points netizens were angry about after the show! "It's a popularity contest!" Many netizens couldn't hold back their frustrations as they claimed the show was a popularity contest. With good reason! Examples included Kim Gyu Rae (from Team Really Really) clearing wasn't the best rapper but ended up as one of the top rappers. Meanwhile, Shiryu , the most veteran and professional dancer for years ended up giving a breathtaking outstanding performance of a lifetime that even shocked the judges! He ended up taking fifth in the rankings in the dancing category which proved that the show wasn't really based upon skill, but rather on popularity. Hong Sung Min took the top seat as the best dancer with an injured leg and didn't even practice the whole week! What an absurd contest! One fan commented: " I swear the on-site audience are either medically deaf or medically blind like no hate but some people were placed wrongly" Another fan complained: "What the actual f--. The onsite voting is a popularity contest and the online voters must be confused due to the delayed broadcasts because these results are wack. I can't fathom this system and I'm at the end of my patience with this show." This was just the tip of the iceberg of what fans really had to say about the show. Finally, the end of the episode really shocked fans as the fan favorite, Santa , dropped 23 spots, from 6th to 29th place!
