This is all thanks for advanced public transportation systems, which make the daily grind which is the commute so much easier. High speed trains connect the country, and offer an affordable price, buses and subways also tend to be eco-friendly and enable commuters to access their free WIFI systems, and nowadays most buses are cashless. The T-money card, a contactless smart card, is my daily companion, allowing me to not just easily take the subway or bus, to transfer between different modes of transport or explore the vibrant neighborhoods in Korea, I can also use it as a payment method in taxis and most convenience stores. Convenience stores, ramen restaurants, pet food, ice cream, fresh meat or vegetable stores are often seen without any employees. Instead they use a lot of CCTV Cameras, digital kiosks and special sensors allow me to enter, browse, and purchase items without any human interaction. Absolute heaven for introverts or days of low social energy. And even normally manned stores use those digital kiosks a lot these days, making it easy to order in English. The full dates will be from January 27 - January 30, 2025. During this time the roads, trains, buses are likely to be very busy and the public transport options will be sold out as it is peak time. So it will be a lot quieter in Seoul during this time, with some smaller, family run restaurants and businesses shut down for the holiday. However, you won't have trouble finding places to eat or shop though, as major malls and chains and popular tourist sites are mostly open to the public. In the run up to the holidays Like any major event, traditional markets are usually packed with people who are shopping for food and gifts to take back to their hometowns. YG Entertainment officials have confirmed that they are shutting down their actor management side of the business in their latest move. Which actors/actresses are affected and what will happen? The Korean entertainment giant said on Friday the 17th of January 2025 that they are shutting down their actor management side of the business in order to focus on it's music division. This will see big name stars such as Kim Hee Ae and Cha Seung Won among others leaving the agency in staged phases as their contracts end. This of course is not the first time that a big influential business has had to restructure and focus their resources, although it has come as a surprise to many! Who are the big name stars that will be leaving? YG's talent portfolio currently includes well known actors such as Kim Hee Ae, Cha Seung Won, Jang Hyun Sung , Yoo In Na , Jung Hye Young , Claudia Kim , Lee Sung Kyung , Jang Ki Yong , Lee Soo Hyuk , Han Seung Yeon and Son Na Eun . Among them, Yoo Seung Ho , whose contract ends in March, is the only actor confirmed to leave on a specific date so far, with the others set to follow not long after. The question is will other stars leave sooner than their contract end date, and if so what are the implications for doing so, even though the business is set to end? There was a huge uproar amongst K-drama enthusiasts about MBC’s drama, When the Phone Rings . It started on a great note and discussions about the drama began during the very first week of airing. The main attraction of this drama was primarily the chemistry between the lead actors, Chae Soo Bin ( I'm not a Robot , 2017) and Yoo Yeon Seok ( Hospital Playlist , 2020). Additionally, the themes of the show, revolving around dark romance, thriller, and suspense, were very intriguing and always left viewers wanting more. Many even called it " Booktok-coded. The show kept the viewers hooked for a good three-fourths of its run, but the finale didn’t quite hit the mark. Apart from the fact that one of the scenes from the show apparently mocked the ongoing political crisis, the plot twist and the climax did not live up to the exceptional beginning and build-up. The storyline started leaving many plot holes that viewers expected to be addressed. For instance, the story lacked a deeper insight into characters like Ji Sang Woo , played by Heo Nam Joon ( Your Honor , 2024), and Hong In A , played by Han Jae Yi ( Mask Girl , 2023). Instead, the narrative left them hanging while focusing on the main male lead’s past traumas. We also didn’t get to see much of how the relationship between the two main lead characters evolved since their childhood. The drama left viewers yearning for a solid conclusion, but it was far from what fans had hoped for. On the other end, some fans defended the show whole-heartedly. The performances, themes, and even the original soundtrack of the show grabbed everyone’s attention and stayed consistent until the end.
