BTS Fans, Did You Catch This? Lili Reinhart Admits BTS Intimidated Her During “SWIM”
BTS’ “SWIM” may have been released already, but the story behind its music video is still giving fans something to talk about. This time, it is the group’s Lisbon adventure that is getting attention, with actress Lili Reinhart opening up about what it was like to film alongside the seven members in Portugal.

The music video was filmed in Lisbon, with the Portuguese capital providing much of the visual backdrop. From its historic locations to the coastline, the city gives “SWIM” a cinematic feel that is very different from the usual BTS setting in Seoul or other familiar locations.
Reinhart spent four days in Lisbon for the shoot and became part of the video’s story alongside BTS.
Lili Reinhart Got the BTS Experience
For Reinhart, filming with BTS was clearly not an everyday Hollywood job. The actor revealed that she was approached through a direct message from the group’s creative director.
“I was sent a DM by their creative director, and thank God I opened it,” she said. The unexpected message eventually led her to Lisbon, where she worked with all seven BTS members. And while Reinhart has plenty of experience working on major productions, she admitted that sharing the screen with BTS came with its own kind of pressure.
“It was a little intimidating. I mean, they’re the biggest band of all time,” she said. That line says a lot about BTS’ global status. Coming from an actor who already has an international profile, Reinhart’s reaction gives the group’s enormous reach a perspective from outside the K-pop world.

Even Dancing With BTS Felt Intimidating
Reinhart also had one particular concern before filming: dancing next to BTS. “I was like, I’m going to have to turn them down because I can’t dance.” Thankfully, she did not have to suddenly become the eighth member of BTS and learn a full choreography routine. Reinhart explained that her movements were “just kind of more improv-y and free-flowing.”
Still, she admitted she felt nervous. “I was able to do it, but I was intimidated,” she added.
Lisbon Became Part of BTS Story
The Lisbon setting is one of the most memorable parts of “SWIM.” The video uses locations such as the Maritime Museum and the city’s surroundings to create a sense of adventure, while the ocean and ship imagery fit naturally with the song’s concept.
For BTS, Lisbon became more than just a filming location. It gave the already-released “SWIM” video a distinct visual identity and allowed the members to tell the story against a European backdrop.
And now, Reinhart’s behind-the-scenes memories add another fun layer to it. She arrived in Lisbon to film with BTS and left with a story about being intimidated by “the biggest band of all time.”
