Chicken lovers, get ready! Daegu's 2025 Chimac Festival is just around the corner. YOU WON'T believe what's coming this year!
One of Daegu's hottest events of the year is just around the corner, and it's all about chicken and beer, with K-pop music for all ages!
This year's event will be held between July 2 - 6, 2025, at the beautiful Duryu Park which is located right next to E-world. This culinary, yet very cultural, experience attracts just over one million visitors each year, which makes it one of Korea's largest and most festive summer events! After thirteen years in the running, this is for sure an event you don't want to miss!
When the sun goes down, the atmosphere comes to life! With various zones throughout the event, the main stage is the place to be! Here, visitors will be able to enjoy a wide variety of music, and water cannons to help the crowds cool down. Last year's headline act was Zior Park , which we have to say performed amazingly. His voice and vocal range were really impressive live, as other artists tend to use a lot of auto tune these days, whereas he actually sang live. The atmosphere for his set was electrifying!
What do I need to prepare?
Dress Code: The 2025 Daegu Chimac Festival dress code is blue, which is in line with one of the event's main sponsors, Cass.
Heat Preparation: Daegu summers are very hot, and Daegu is nicknamed Dafrica, due to its very dry and hot climate, so it’s good to prepare cool patches or mini fans.
Hand Hygiene: Bring small wet wipes for when chicken seasoning gets on your hands, and bathroom lines can be long!
Mosquito Protection: Since it’s an outdoor summer event, there might be mosquitoes. It’s good to purchase mosquito repellent bracelets or patches from nearby convenience stores or pharmacies, unless you want to get bitten!
Water Play Preparation: You can enjoy water gun fights at Dafrica Water Pia. Bringing your water gun is essential! (Not available for purchase on-site / Only usable within Water Pia) We have to say, this is a great way to cool down in the very hot and humid Daegu heat!
Picnic Mat Preparation: You can also enjoy Chimac sitting in the park. If you want a picnic vibe, bring a picnic mat. We love this vibe, and it's the perfect way to soak in the atmosphere!
Getting there
10-minute walk from Duryu Station on Daegu Subway Line 2
Special shuttle buses operate during the Daegu Chimac Festival, making it easy to reach the venue without a car, though public parking is likely to fill up early, and spaces are narrow!
Public transportation is strongly recommended
