Episodes 1–2 Recap
Episode 1 kicks off with Park Seong-ah (Cho Yi-hyun) performing a powerful rooftop exorcism. After spending the night battling a spirit, she barely makes it to school for her exam. Her friend Pyo Ji-ho (Cha Kang-woon) lightens the mood with jokes, but it’s clear Seong-ah is carrying a heavy spiritual burden alongside her studies.
That same day, Bae Gyeon-woo (Choo Young-woo) visits Seong-ah’s shaman shrine with his grandmother. Seong-ah is stunned when she sees his energy reversed—an ominous sign in shamanism, indicating death is near. Though she’s haunted by a past failure, she feels an urge to protect him, especially after developing a quiet crush.
Things get more complicated when Gyeon-woo appears at her school as a new transfer student. Seong-ah tries to keep him safe with discreet protective rituals and even banishes a water ghost from the boys' bathroom. Gyeon-woo ends up embarrassing her in class by calling her a fraud, but Seong-ah doesn’t back down.

Episode 2 takes a darker turn as whispers spread around school that Gyeon-woo may have been behind a past fire incident. Seong-ah, now more concerned than ever, starts placing hidden talismans among his things, hoping to shield him from any growing danger. During a visit to his home, she shares a meal with his grandmother, Ok-soon, and learns about Gyeon-woo’s past as a promising archer whose career was cut short without explanation.
Things escalate quickly when another fire erupts at school, throwing everyone into chaos. A dangerous spirit sets its sights on Gyeon-woo, and though Seong-ah tries to step in, it’s Ji-ho who manages to pull him to safety. Later, Seong-ah realises something even more chilling—she sees Ok-soon’s spirit at a funeral, which means the woman has died, and Gyeon-woo doesn’t know it yet.
The episode closes with Gyeon-woo’s emotions boiling over. Angry, confused, and grieving, he tells both Seong-ah and Ji-ho to leave him alone. But Seong-ah isn't ready to walk away—her promise to protect him only grows stronger.

What Makes It Worth Watching
The fantasy element, centerd around shamanism, gives the drama a unique twist without leaning into horror. It keeps things exciting while staying light and entertaining. The chemistry between Seong-ah and Gyeon-woo feels natural, and their growing relationship is full of heart.
The pacing is smooth, balancing school moments, humor, and fantasy sequences in a way that keeps viewers engaged. Supporting characters like Ji-ho also bring warmth and charm to the story.
Why It Stands Out
