tvN’s Resident Playbook has been winning hearts with its relatable story, strong ensemble cast, and surprise appearances — and now, fans of both K-dramas and K-pop are excitedly buzzing. TXT members Yeonjun and Soobin are set to make their acting debut with a special cameo in the drama!
Yes, that’s right — the beloved idols from TOMORROW X TOGETHER will appear as idol band members, playing former bandmates of Jae Il, one of the drama’s resident doctors, who once had a music career. This marks the first time both idols will appear in a scripted drama, making it a highly anticipated moment for fans.

Yeonjun and Soobin’s Upcoming Cameo Roles
According to multiple entertainment reports, Yeonjun and Soobin will appear as former idol group members of Um Jae Il, a character played by Kang You Seok. In the storyline, Um Jae Il was once a one-hit-wonder idol who eventually gave up his career to pursue a new path as a resident doctor in the obstetrics and gynecology department at Jongro Yulje Hospital.
Though the production team has not officially confirmed the idols’ appearance, they have left fans curious by stating, “Please check through the broadcast,” further raising expectations for the upcoming episodes.
Familiar Faces Return from Hospital Playlist
As a spin-off of the widely loved Hospital Playlist series, Resident Playbook has already delivered several memorable cameos from the original cast:
Jung Kyung Ho returned as Kim Jun Wan in Episode 4.
Yoo Yeon Seok surprised fans in Episode 5 by reprising his role as Ahn Jeong Won, appearing during a dinner with the OB-GYN team.
Ahn Eun Jin made a touching appearance as Chu Min Ha in Episode 2, sharing an emotional exchange with Yi Young.
Moon Tae Yu and Ha Yoon Kyoung also reprised their roles as Yong Seok Min and Heo Seon Bin in Episode 2, appearing together as the beloved doctor couple, adding a sweet nostalgic touch.
