Kim Jae-young and Choi Soo-young in I Dol I promotional poster (Credits: ENA) Get ready for one of the most gripping new K-dramas of 2025 because I Dol I  is finally on the way! This series combines idol life, mystery, romance, and court drama in a fresh, addictive way. If you love shows with twists, bold characters, and emotional tension, this one is already looking like a must-watch! Fans are especially excited because the drama pairs a long-time idol fan with the idol she has secretly supported for years, bringing them together in the most intense situation possible: a murder case. I Dol I (Credits: ENA) What Is I Dol I About? I Dol I  follow Maeng Se-na, a talented defense lawyer who never backs down from difficult cases. Even with her sharp mind and cool attitude, she has a secret that no one at her firm knows: she’s a loyal fan of top idol Do Ra-ik. Everything changes when Do Ra-ik becomes the prime suspect in a shocking murder case. His career falls apart overnight, the internet turns against him, and even people around him start doubting his innocence. The only person who steps forward to help is Se-na, who chooses to defend him not just as a lawyer, but as someone who truly believes in him. As Se-na investigates, she discovers there’s much more to Ra-ik’s life than his pretty idol image. Hidden fights, broken relationships, industry pressure, and past secrets all come to light. Each episode pushes you to question whether he is a victim, a target, or someone caught in a much bigger game. I Dol I (Credits: ENA) Story Highlights: Love, Loyalty, and a Case Full of Twists The drama is not just about the crime. It focuses on the unique relationship between a fan and her idol. Se-na knows Ra-ik from afar, his music, his struggles, his stage presence. But this is the first time she sees him as a person, not a star. Ra-ik, who was always careful with his image, slowly opens up to her as she fights for him harder than anyone else ever has. Their bond grows as the case gets darker. Every clue she uncovers brings new surprises, and every step Ra-ik takes shows how lonely an idol’s life can be when the world turns against them. This mix of emotional moments and mystery keeps the story moving without feeling heavy. I Dol I (Credits: ENA) I Dol I Cast: Who’s Starring in the K-Drama? The cast lineup is strong and fits the tone of the story perfectly. Choi Soo-young  plays Maeng Se-na , the lawyer who hides her fangirl side but never loses her sense of justice. Soo-young is known for her confident yet warm acting style, so this role suits her well. Kim Jae-young  plays Do Ra-ik , the idol trapped in a murder investigation. He brings charm, pain, and vulnerability to the character, making viewers question the truth along with Se-na. Full cast of I Dol I at script reading (Credits: ENA) The supporting cast is as follows: Jeong Jae-kwang  as prosecutor Kwak Byung-gyun, a tough and cold character who wants Ra-ik behind bars. Choi Hee-jin  as Hong Hye-joo, Ra-ik’s ex-lover who may know more than she admits. Kim Hyun-jin  plays Se-na’s private investigator, adding clues, humor, and tension. Park Jung-woo  plays Ra-ik’s bandmate, showing the darker side of the idol industry and friendship under pressure. Each character pushes the story forward in their own way, making the drama more than just a crime case; it becomes a look into trust, fame, and the price of being in the spotlight.
