Jihyo who is part of the K-pop group, TWICE, recently spoke out about her time as a trainee for the entertainment industry, where she spent many years training before being officially signed and joined with a group. Jihyo talked about her childhood experience at the Junior Naver Child Star Contest , referring to her 10-year trainee life at JYP . She revealed for the first time, "A JYP official saw it and cast it," and "I was at SM for a year before I was a 10-year trainee at JYP." Jihyo recalled her memory of meeting Yoona and Suyeong of Girls' Generation at SM at the time and told an episode in which members of Girls' Generation praised her for being cute. "If you were in SM, you would have been in Girls' Generation. If I had known, I would have held it" — Hyeyeon on Jihyo's skill as a trainee Also, Hyoyeon expressed surprise about Jihyo's confession, saying, "If you were in SM, you would have been in Girls' Generation. If I had known, I would have held it", she expressed regret. She continued, "We're all trainees, preparing for our debut only before our debut. The feel of the abandoned warehouse gives me Halloween vibes , and the backing track tempo also helps to create that haunted feeling. I think compared to other artists who have released music recently, this vibe is definitely something that is outside of the box, and for me, it is really interesting and refreshing. I also feel that I have been able to get to see a different side of the star which is fantastic. Netflix unveiled its first influencer survival show The Influencer , following the success of similar shows such as Physical 100 . In today's world of social media stars, is it too much? We give our opinion on this new hot reality series! As I am sure you already know, the influencer market in Korea has grown to an unimaginable scale over the past couple of years, and thanks to the help of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has accelerated influencers to new heights. When I heard about the new Netflix show, I was really excited. Why? Because I think it will be a great opportunity for many people to experience new opportunities, but on top of that showcase their skills and talents and I love reality TV, of course the drama that comes with it. Producer Lee Jae Seok, the mastermind behind the show, shares his vision: “I thought it would be interesting to gather influencers, divided by algorithms, in one place. You’ll see the top influencers in Korea and experience unique entertainment through the large scale and visuals that only Netflix can deliver, along with never-before-seen social survival missions.” Also, according to the official Netflix website: Fans are treated to a teaser trailer featuring powerful influencers like TikToker Xiajiu, who boasts 27.5 million followers, Jang Geun Seok, Risabae, Pani Bottle, Jin Yong Jin, Shim Euddeum and Daedo Library. Their reactions give a taste of the intense and shocking challenges that await. So what is the show about? The Influencer features 77 South Korean influencers across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and other social media platforms, each of them with their own special content. Korean record label SM Entertainment have recently announced that they have signed their first ever British boy group Dear Alice! Here are all the details you need to know! So here is the deal, Dear Alice is a five-member group co-produced by SM, SM & Kakao Entertainment America and Moon & Back Media, a British entertainment company. To go back in the time line, to begin with the British company was responsible for casting the members, while SM Entertainment provided expertise in music, choreography and vocal training from the K-pop industry, which recently has been a global trend which continues to gain popularity and take off in Western countries such as a the UK. The boy group consists of Blaise Noon, Dexter Greenwood, James Sharp, Olly Quinn and Reese Carter, aged between 19 and 23, all from diverse British backgrounds, which these days UK culture has tried to become more inclusive so this makes sense to me, as I am from the UK myself. Dear Alice will debut with the TV series "Made in Korea: The K-pop Experience" , a six-part series set to air on BBC One and iPlayer later this month, which I have previously written about, and I am also very excited to watch, and as the show unfolds, I will write further articles about. Of course UK media has also reported on this historic collaboration between the UK and Korea, rightly so as ties between the country have become close thanks to Brexit and with the rise in K-Culture. One of the members SAM has recently posted on Social Media: The series will follow the five members as they are put through the K-pop training process for 100 days in Seoul with the goal of launching Dear Alice. Coming from the UK, I think it is interesting how Korean music has taken off in recent years, and I have to say that before this many people in the UK did not really know to much about Korea, as it has never been a popular travel destination like other Asian countries such as Thailand or Japan until now. I really hope the boys do well! I am certain the UK public especially the younger generation will get behind the band, as really since One Direction there has not been a global boy band. I am sure with their UK routes and K-pop training their style will be unique. Also at Dojeon Media we have previously written about this new British boy band . RED ISSUE was formed in 2016. We started as a dance group from our school and decided to create a reverse cover group of BLACKPINK , as we are all avid fans of the group. We have been competing since 2016 and have won some contests. Our name, RED ISSUE, combines the names of two different dance groups from Thailand that we admire greatly. We chose this name to honor their talent and influence on our dancing. In addition to BLACKPINK, RED ISSUE also performs dance covers of other girl groups. Here's our exclusive interview with the team! How has your passion for dance influenced your personal lives? We feel so much more confident, happy, and outgoing. It truly has been life-changing for us. What is your favorite song to perform and why? "DDU-DU DDU-DU" by Blackpink. We always remember our first-ever win in a competition as a group. What are some of the challenges you've faced as a dance group, especially in the early days? Some of the challenges we faced as a dance group in the early days were that, way back in 2016, when we were only students, we couldn't buy some stuff or rent a studio to fill our basic needs, most importantly the costumes. At that time, we were so financially unstable.  What is your typical performance preparation process like? We practice during our free time, typically on weekends when we're available. We spend at least 4–6 hours practicing. We also listen carefully to our music, so we can nail every beat. Give every move all you have. Be fearless, but it’s very important that you know your limits if you think something is too difficult for you to try out. With the concept photos, that have been released we have found "ALIVE" to be a cool concept for summer, and with some of the members posing at a surf shop, and lounging around at the beach it has made me feel relaxed, excited & happy. We really love the dress code and styling of the girls, we feel that their cute smiles, all-pink backdrop, and outfits make it come across that the video is going to be a dance, energetic, and, fun, which of course is what we look for with a summer hit. The Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) successfully concluded the first-ever K-Pop Academy, a groundbreaking event that captivated K-Pop enthusiasts in the country. The Academy, which ran from July 5 to August 2, culminated in a dazzling recital on August 3, showcasing the talent and hard work of its participants. The K-Pop Academy featured a comprehensive program designed to immerse students in the vibrant world of K-Pop, with classes led by renowned mentors including AUSPICIOUS from Korea, P-pop girl group KAIA , and Ace Dance Studio's esteemed Ciel Go. These industry experts provided invaluable insights and training, helping students hone their skills in dance, performance, and stage presence. During the final recital, the BOY GROUP DANCE class delivered a high-energy performance of The Boyz' "Thrill Ride," while the GIRL GROUP DANCE class captivated the audience with their rendition of Twice's "Yes or Yes." Both performances demonstrated the dedication and progress of the students over the course of the Academy. “Congratulations once again, and we hope you continue to shine and pursue your dreams and goals with the same passion and determination that brought you here today,” said Kim Myeongjin, Director of the KCC during his opening remarks.
