- ADOR transparent with Hyein's recovery! She might return for adjusted group activities for NewJeans's upcoming Japan debut!
When you think everything bad about HYBE's ADOR , they do something that warms our hearts! In a statement released on June 20 regarding NewJeans's Hyein , we are proud to see the company's transparency with fans as they meticulously explained Hyein's current recovery. Let's take a look at the details! If you haven't noticed already, all of NewJeans's new promotional material, including their exquisite performance at Gyeonbukgung Palace , did not include Hyein. The youngest member of NewJeans has been placed on IR (injured reserve) for the past couple of months due to a hairline fracture on the top of her foot. The singer/dancer sustained the injury during practice and has been in recovery ever since. On June 30, ADOR released a detailed explanation of Hyein's recovery process and how she might be able to participate (limited) with the group for their upcoming Japan debut from June 26- 27 during their first two-day fan meeting "Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome"! "Hello, this is ADOR. We would like to update you on Hyein’s health and her upcoming schedule.Ever since a microfracture was discovered on the top of her foot in April, Hyein has been focusing on treatment and recovery.A recent examination confirmed that the fracture is healing well, and it has been recommended that she gradually increase her foot movement over the next month. Based on the medical team’s advice and after thorough discussions with the other members, Hyein is scheduled to participate in “Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome” on June 26 and 27. However, as she needs a sufficient rehabilitation period, ADOR is currently adjusting Hyein’s level of participation to avoid straining her injury during her interactions with fans. Consequently, she will be taking part in the performances to a limited extent. We appreciate your understanding on this matter. We also ask for your understanding that she will not be active or participating in the official “Supernatural” promotions in Japan, including music shows and other performances, for the same reasons. However, depending on Hyein’s condition and the medical team’s advice, she plans to engage as much as possible in activities other than music shows and performances. We are committed to ensuring that NewJeans can perform as a full group in upcoming music shows in South Korea. We express our sincere gratitude for your concerns about Hyein’s health. She will return to official activities once she receives medical clearance that she has fully recovered. We ask for your continued support. Thank you." This is amazing news and very good of ADOR to let fans know her current status! K-pop idols' health is in jeopardy! With all the clouds surrounding the health status of many K-pop idols, this is definitely a breath of fresh air! Wonhee of rookie girl group ILLIT also injured her foot during practice earlier in the week prompting their agency, Belift Lab , to state Wonhee's condition. But a day later, she was spotted performing while sitting on a chair during the Weverse Con Festival in Incheon. According to the Korean Herald, NingNing from Aespa also suffered dehydration and exhaustion. SM Entertainment released a statement saying, "Ning Ning was dehydrated and exhausted during a rehearsal and immediately went to the hospital, where she was told that she needed to rest and stabilize.” The Korean Herald also continued to explain that the main reason why K-pop idols suffer from these health issues is due to their intense schedules and strict diets. You can read more about it here . So what can companies do to satisfy both the fans' desire to see their favorite idols as well as the idols' health? What type of compromise are we as fans willing to give these companies so that our favorite idols have enough time to recover, but still be able to perform for millions around the world? Comment below! We want to hear from you! Source: 1 #kpopidols #healthissues #ADOR #HYEIN #AESPA #NINGNING #ILLIT #Wonhee
- This is the best way to cool off in South Korea during summertime! [First hand experience!]
Korean summers are notoriously known to be hot, especially in Daegu cordially nicknamed "Daefrica" (Daegu and Africa combined). We show you the best way to beat the heat during the upcoming sweltering months! There is nothing better than jumping into a refreshingly cold swimming pool on a hot and humid summer day. Recently, I went to Daegu's famous Spa Valley Waterpark to check out their half-price June special before schools are out for the summer break. A great thing I found about this waterpark compared to previous years that I have been is that they have recently spent the winter months renovating the park, changing rooms, and car park area, making it much more comfortable to visit! Upon entering the park, you can purchase your tickets and proceed to the shoe storage lockers before heading to the changing rooms. Inside the changing rooms are Korean-styled saunas and hot pools which were great after spending the day in the park, and both changing rooms are separate for men and women. The waterpark has a lazy river, a wave pool, a swimming pool, and water slides/rides including a children's pool. At certain times of the day one of the swimming pools had a foam party! Inside there were also different temperature-controlled saunas and steam rooms which were new this year. I was advised to wear a life jacket in the wave pool and lazy river, so the rental cost was 7,000 KRW (5.00 USD) for the day. Although I love water rides, my favorite has got to be floating around in the lazy river, since it has been so hot and humid recently! I do recommend arriving at the park early in the day. Yes, there will still be a line to enter the park, but it means that if you beat the rush you can get on some of the rides before it peaks to capacity towards mid-morning, and of course, beat the heat! Tickets & Parking: Can be purchased on-site. For more information, check out the website: https://english.visitkorea.or.kr/svc/contents/infoHtmlView.do?vcontsId=137272 Let us know in the comments below, if you will be heading to a water park to cool off this summer! #summertime #beattheheat #daegu #funthingstodo #swimming #pooltime

Why we're watching Team dynamics! Of course, we want to see the "real side" of these famous K-celebs! Who doesn't right? Yes, this is a little scripted but when the lights are off and there's no one else around, will these six show their true selves? Set designs The set designs in this show are truly a marvel to look at! Looking like they came straight out of a horror movie, brings fear and anxiety to the cast as they work together to solve the clues given to them. Karina There. We said it. Yes, she is the main reason we're watching since she's been in the headlines with her ex-boyfriend, Lee Jae Wook , we want to see how Aespa's main diva can handle herself in her first variety show! When asked during a press conference in Seoul for the show, Karina explained, " Since it's my first time doing a variety show, I think I can show my true tension from everyday life." She continued to explain her feelings while filming, "At first, I said I wasn't easily scared, but once filming started, I got so scared that I couldn't even speak." Amazing teamwork The stars of Agents of Mystery must use each other's skills to solve each case to move on. We loved the dynamics between the cast as they showed perseverance and bits of patience with each other followed by numerous funny occasions! Now with a 4th mini album just around the corner, on May 22, 2024, the K-idol released the track list, which fans have been getting understandably excited about. So, according to the latest teaser, the album will have a total of six tracks. - " Empty" , " Dandelion" , " PLAYLIST" , " Fall In Love Again" , " Starlight" , and " Remember" . Which promises a collection of captivating and moving songs. With his expressive voice and his evocative words, Chen is sure to delight her listeners once again. The singer also hosted a live countdown event through his official YouTube channel on May 28th, a day ahead of the alum release. I think that it is a cool way for fans to join the singer and also for his ratings to increase. Let's check out the highlight melody below! I really enjoyed this video especially the part when he removed a book from the shelf and the camera panned to a close-up of the singer, it just gave me a feeling of simplicity and also that of an alternative style. As many K-idols focus on fast dance moves and flashy outfits, I did not experience this in this refreshing video. It meant that I was able to connect with the artist in a more meaningful way. The concept also felt fairly cinematic which for me is perfect as I love that style. I also thought the ending was pretty cool with the pages of the book falling around him, as it left me wanting more as a viewer. Let us know your thoughts on his new music in the comments below! #첸 #CHEN #DOOR #빈집 #Empty
- Indie band SURL is a breath of fresh air with its new single "ringringring"! This is why you need to be listening!
Indie band SURL is taking a refreshing take on British rock and blues for their new single "ringringring" ! We explain why it should be part of your summer K-pop playlist! Now, for me, I think it's great that there is an Indie band in the center of the limelight for now, as it is a breath of fresh air from the usual K-pop genre. Their second release of the year, after their successful single " Hypnosis ," was released in March 2024. As I come from the UK, and Bristol is my hometown, I am very familiar with the Indie scene and style of music. However, in my four years in Korea, I have not heard the style of music on a mainstream platform as much, which is why this single got me excited! Let's check out their video on the link below! "Ringringring" for me, is very stereotypical Indie, from the backdrop, lyrics, and dress code. I liked that in the video, there was a mobile phone being used to make the viewers feel as if they were at the concert themselves. I thought it was a clever idea, as well as showing them setting up for their shows. I think it shows their fans their whole setup and behind the scenes which personally as a viewer is something that I love to see as it makes me feel as if I were there. The song was accompanied by a music video shot in the style of a home movie. The visual compiles shots of SURL performing throughout their recent tour, from prepping backstage to hitting major cities across the US, which I think appearing for a Western audience is good for his career and will perhaps give him an edge over his competitors in the K-music industry with more downloads and fans. I also feel that the single is light-hearted and the perfect song for chilling out in the hot Korean summer, so the release timing is great. Let us know in the comments below, your thoughts on this new summer single. #SURL #설 #밴드설 #ringringring

- Feel relaxed and rejuvenated with this Oriental medicine & tea tour in Seoul! Our experience & why you must try it!
For a long time, Oriental medicine has been a healing method for many Koreans, though what is making it a trend in Western culture today? Dojeon team member, Lewis, recently went on a tour to find out for himself. If you haven't read part 1 please do so first! South Korea is so much more than K-dramas and K-pop, and for a long time now, I have been interested in Oriental medicine and the role that it plays in the medicinal market. Especially since I moved to Korea close to four years ago. Of course, this interest was also sparked by the popular Korean drama The Third Hospital which aired in 2012. In the drama the doctors compared Western and Eastern medicine, and naturally, there was a rivalry between the two brothers. Oriental medicine is popular with Korean idols and actors these days, allowing them to maintain a healthy diet, body and mind. I believe that the celebrity influence on Oriental medicine in modern times, is what helps to keep the traditions alive. Dating back to the Joseon Dynasty oriental medicine has been popular due to the use of natural herbs and resources, unlike in Western medicine where chemicals are often used. While Koreans are notorious for pushing their kids to become doctors, it’s worth remembering that Koreans have cultivated their age-old approach to wellness for over 5,000 years. Hanbang – aka traditional Korean medicine – encompasses acupuncture, herbs and cupping and has lately attracted a surge of interest among both Korean Americans and Westerners. For my tour, I met my guide at Seoul K Medi Center before heading in side to the museum itself. While I was waiting for my guide, I was able to enjoy the beautiful tranquil garden setting in the basking Korean sun, Being so close to the subway station, I was surprised at how relaxing it was here. For me the wooden oriental building of the coffee shop took me away a little, as it was very different from the surrounding buildings. When my guide arrived, he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the building and local area which was great. Once we headed inside, we went to the second floor of the building and had the opportunity to look around the museum itself. I thought it was great that the information signs had English translations on and they helped a lot while I was looking around the exhibitions. I did not know too much about the different oriental medicines and their uses, however my guide was able to explain them to me in detail, and I thought it was great to learn about the herbs, and even animal parts, as if I visited the museum alone, I would not have got that information. I am a very interactive person, and among the exhibits, there were some interactive sections for me to enjoy, where I was able to put in some of my key diet foods, and the computer would tell me roughly how much of each one to use to have a healthy diet. In addition to this, I was able to find out which ingredients I was lacking based on the information that I put in, and then it displayed what ingredients my body needed. I also really liked that there were old-style medicine cabinets with Chinese characters as it made my visit feel more special seeing how these medicines used to be stored. Once we finished looking around the museum, we proceeded over to the outdoor foot bath area. Included in the tour was the admission for the footbath. My guide was able to translate the Korean and explain what I needed to do. Since the weather was so hot, the footbath was very welcome. The footbath area was outside on one of the roof areas, and it felt very tranquil with oriental music playing in the background, in the bustling city of Seoul, I was able to get some relaxation while soaking my feet. Of course, in the footbath itself were oriental salts to rejuvenate your feet. I found all of the information at the foot spa to be interesting, as the brochure talked about healing points on your feet, and how to use the foot bath correctly in order to get full benefits. To find out more information about the museum itself, visit the link below: https://kmedi.ddm.go.kr/eng/preview/experience3.php Now there are two ways to book the tour, either through "Trip advisor" or "Get your guide". Tripadvisor link: https://www.tripadvisor.co.kr/Attraction_Review-g294197-d27734455-Reviews-Heojunoppa-Seoul.html Get your guide link: https://www.getyourguide.com/seoul-l197/seoul-oriental-medicine-museum-tour-make-your-own-tea-t606905?preview=PU9I1RW253LN3JB9V3X1ZLVFM8TIBX78&lang=en&date_from=2024-06-20&_pc=1,1 Meeting Location for the tour: 26, Yangnyeongjungang-ro, Dongdaemun-gu Jegi-dong, Seoul 02570 South Korea How to get there: Jegi-dong • 5 min walk Cheongnyangni • 9 min walk After the much-needed footbath, we headed to the guide's office, which was about a ten-minute walk from the museum. On the way were were shown different restaurants, and it was explained that some of the restaurants, use herbal medicine as part of the food ingredients in the meals that are served. It was also said that even though oriental medicine is an integral part of the Korean medical market, sadly not many young Koreans are choosing to study oriental medicine these days. Once we arrived at the office, we were served a refreshing herbal drink to help hydrate and cool us down. Afterwards, we were given a sheet with different herbs which we were able to try as tea, and their benefits were explained to us. I had always been interested in trying the 'Reishi mushroom' as I had seen it many times in Korean markets, so I opted for this choice and the other choices for teas which we also tried were 'Wormwood', 'Peony root' and 'Angelica root'. The 'Reishi mushroom' tea was very nice, and although the flavor was a little strong I really enjoyed it, as I did with the other choices. I thought it was very interesting to be shown in detail how the teas were made, and the background behind them in terms of health benefits, origin and what they can help your body with. We were also given some of the herbs to take away with us at the end of the tour which was a really nice touch. If you are interested in oriental medicine, then why not take a look at the online store? Here you can find some fantastic gifts or items to treat yourself! https://smartstore.naver.com/1000hanbang When visiting Seoul, this Oriental medicine and tea tour is definitely, something that you should book yourself on to. For me, it offered an alternative side to Seoul which I had not seen before, and helped me to understand Korean culture a lot more. Not only that, but my guide was amazing and very informative, and he had really good English as well, which definitely helped. Let us know in the comments below if you have tried Oriental medicine & teas before! #orientalmedicine #koreanmedicine #herbaltea #seoultrip
- Chuu is making a sweet comeback in June! [2nd mini-album details!]
Loona's former member Chuu is back with a new album! Here are all the details for her upcoming second mini-album drop! June 2024 will see the comeback of Chuu, and I have to say that it could not have come soon enough! Chuu's second mini album "Strawberry Rush" which has been highly anticipated among her fans, will be released on June 25th at 6 PM KST , so make sure to mark your calendars! It was confirmed by her label in early May that “Chuu is currently filming a music video in Australia with the plan to release her new album next month. Please look forward to Chuu, who will return with new music and performances.” I also think that the title "Strawberry Rush" feels very playful and "summery". She could have got the timing just right, as June is the start of summer in Korea, and the release of her new music could see her star in many summer concerts, and shows and it could also take off as the 2024 summer tune if she is lucky. I also really like the logo which is in the picture above, I think the silique design showcases the singer's simplicity. Below is her last music video from seven months ago. Will her new music come close to the success she had before? June 25, 2024 , will see the release of her new album "Strawberry Rush" . I am excited to see the outcome of the 2024 summer comeback from Chuu. How about you? Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments below! #CHUU #츄 #Strawberry_Rush #스트로베리러쉬

One day, Lee Mi Jin wakes up and finds herself in the body of an ahjumma (middle-aged woman) in her 50s. She uses this opportunity to get herself a job under the name Im Soon ( Lee Jung Eun ), an intern at the Seohan District Public Prosecutor's Office, where Gye Ji Woong works. As night falls, Lee Mi Jin returns to her regular self. Why we're watching Stomach-grabbing laughter under ridiculous circumstances is why we're watching! If you want to just escape reality and dive into a light-hearted romcom, Miss Night and Day is for you! Here are three reasons why you should add it to your summer watchlist! 1. Amazing cast! The cast is wonderfully sprinkled with veteran actors along with fresh young faces! Although Jung Eun Ji and Choi Jin Hyuk alone could bring viewers, the support of amazing actors like Jung Young Joo , whom we've praised for her role as Im Sol's mother in Lovely Runner is another reason why this show will be a hit! Pure comedy We haven't laughed this hard in a long time! Miss Night and Day will bring you stomach-grabbing, shoulder-punching laughter (it's better to watch with friends!) even in the first episode! With hilarious everyday simple situations, it's easy to relate to and understand the characters! Amazing storyline! Although the storyline isn't the most original (body-switching) the writers of Miss Night and Day definitely understand the characters and their surroundings as each laugh-out-loud "haha" is truly the definition of pure comedy in its most "purist" form. From the ahjumma's and moms on the local bus staring at Lee Mi Jin as she curses out Gye Ji Woong to Lee Mi Jin rubbing her father's back in the morning as a 50-year-old ahjumma while her mom is spitting out the cucumber asking "Who the heck are you?", this drama is just pure fun! So what are you waiting for? Have we convinced you yet? Make sure to check out Miss Night and Day on JTBC and Netflix every S aturday and Sunday at 22:30 KST !
