  • The Real Rosé: Toxic Love, Healing, and Self-Acceptance

Blackpink's Rosé opens up about heartbreak , toxic love , and finding herself , showing us that even the brightest stars have their darkest moments. Read on to find out more! Rosé , the talented singer from BLACKPINK , has always amazed us with her voice and performance. But behind the bright lights and fame, her journey has been filled with struggles. In her new solo album Rosie , she opens up about her past, her emotions, and how she learned to heal from a toxic relationship , and that's what she shared with the PAPER magazine . Her story is real and something everyone can relate to. But what happened? 1) A Relationship That Hurt Rosé describes her 20s as a confusing and vulnerable time. Like many people, she had a toxic relationship with ups and downs, misunderstandings, and pain. She admits she didn’t notice the red flags and ended up hurt. She says, "Your 20s are not an easy time," and this relationship was part of her struggle. Through her music, Rosé expresses the emotional scars from that time. She sings about wanting love, feeling enough, and dealing with loneliness and doubt, things many people can relate to, whether in relationships or life. 2) The Strength to Be Honest One of the most powerful things about Rosé 's album Rosie is how she embraces her vulnerability. Instead of hiding her struggles, she chose to be honest. "I wanted to sing about being vulnerable and confused," she says. For Rosé, it was important for people to see her as just another young woman trying to figure out life. In a world where stars are expected to be perfect, Rosé ’s openness about her pain makes her more relatable. She shows that it’s okay not to have everything figured out and okay to admit when things are tough. 3) The Pressure of Social Media In her album, Rosé also talks about the pressure of living in the digital world. With millions of followers, she feels the weight of constant judgment. She admits that sometimes she reads comments late at night and gets hurt by what people say. "Every word, every comment, it crushes me," she shares. Many people can relate to this feeling. The need for approval , especially online, can make us feel small and insecure. Rosé’s song about this experience speaks to anyone who has ever felt judged or misunderstood on the internet. 4) Learning to Be Herself While making Rosie , Rosé spent long hours in the studio, which made her feel disconnected from herself. Over time, she realized she needed balance and to take care of herself. She stopped going to public events and focused on being herself. "I pulled back from attending public events. I wanted to access the ' Rosie ' inside me, not the ' Rosé ' people see," she explains. This period of self-reflection helped her grow and understand that she didn’t need to be perfect. She learned that flaws and mistakes are part of what makes her real. 5) A Message of Hope Rosie is not just about pain, it’s also about healing and finding strength. Rosé has learned from her past and now wants to help others who feel the same. "At the end of the day, I want people to understand me," she says. By sharing her story, she hopes others will feel less alone in their struggles. Rosé ’s journey shows that even in tough times, we can grow, learn, and heal. Her music reminds us that we don’t need to be perfect, we just need to be ourselves .

  • Korean Media Reports BTS Suga Can Do Military Service As A Civil Servant

#bts #suga #military #service Several South Korean portals reported on Tuesday December 13, that BTS Suga could complete his military service as a civil servant. The rapper is the second oldest member of BTS and is set to join next year. Suga was born in 1993 and will be 30 years old in March 2023. Jin, the oldest member of BTS , just turned 30 years old and officially started his military service on Tuesday December 13. In 2019, the star was diagnosed with "left shoulder posterior labial tear" , which means that his cartilage around his left shoulder joint was torn. The increase in pain and the inability to perform some movements led the idol to decide to undergo surgery to improve his quality of life and take care of his health. Through a message to fans in 2020 via WeVerse, Suga said: “Since performing is part of my job, I tried to avoid surgery as much as I could and endured with rehabilitation and injections. However, I was scared because it got worse and worse every time I performed.” According to the Edaily report, military authorities used Suga's shoulder surgery in 2020 as a justification. In some cases, depending on the complexity of the surgery and the severity of the injury, recruits may be discharged from full military service. Despite this, the agency reported, “ Even if they are assigned to public service, conscripts can go on active duty if they wish to serve in that way .” Big Hit Music said in response to the news, " BTS members will do their military service according to their own plans. It is difficult to confirm the artist's personal information." Among terms of work, civil servants have the longest years of work. Active duty soldiers serve 18 months, while soldiers assigned to government offices must complete 24 months of service. And what do you think about the enlistment of BTS members ? Do you think they returned as a full group in 2025? Let us know what you think about it in the comments! Source: KoreaIN, Recreio

  • K-pop: Dominating global charts, yet ABSENT from the 2025 Grammy's?

Could the lack of global groups be to blame for K-pop being absent from the 2025 Grammys? We explain why this might be. Image: BTS Grammys 2022 - pop magazine What are the Grammy Awards? Arguably one of the / if not the hottest night in music, the Grammy Awards celebrate the past years global music releases including upcoming artists. Entries are submitted by record companies as well as members of the academy and are reviewed to determine eligibility and category placement. The voting members go through a series of ballots, select five nominees for each award, and ultimately the winner; the voters cast ballots only in their areas of expertise. The winners are announced during a televised ceremony, which has gained global attention in more recent years, due to the intense performances that often take place. Why isn’t K-pop taken seriously at the Grammys? Image: BTS Grammys 2022 - rukita.com Another spectacular year of Grammy nominations, and another year of K-pop fans having to deal with the fact that none of their favorite K-pop performers made it into the nominations list. This is surprising as solo artists like Jungkook , RM and Jimin who are all members of the global K-pop band BTS were all eligible to be nominated at the 2025 Grammys, but instead they were ignored when the nominations were announced back in November 2024. So this leads to the question, why isn't K-pop taken seriously at the Grammys? One of the possible reasons why there were no K-pop nominations this year, is due to the lack of K-pop groups with the same scale of global dominance as BTS once had. K-pop has become a vast machine with many groups debuting weekly, so this could be one of the r easons why there were no K-pop performers this year. The Billboard charts, also included BLACKPINK’s Lisa on the snub list, stating that had she been nominated for Best New Artist , she would have been the first K-pop artist in that category. Despite BLACKPINK’s massive global success, they have yet to receive a Grammy nomination, which is surprising to say the least. K-pop performers have been nominated before Image: News18 - BTS & Coldplay In the past artists including Jungkook , RM , and Jimin are all prior Grammy nominees as members of the aforementioned world-renowned group BTS. But that is the only K-Pop contender to ever be recognized for music’s biggest honor. The boy band earned bids for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance ( “Dynamite” ) in 2021, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance ( “Butter” ) in 2022, and Best Music Video ( “Yet To Come” ), Best Pop Duo/Group Performance ( “My Universe” with Coldplay ), and Album Of The Year ( “Music Of The Spheres” with Coldplay ) in 2023. Since K-pop has been snubbed from the 2025 Grammys, do you think this will shake the K-pop industry into focusing on more global exports? Let us know your reasons as to why you think K-pop was absent from this years Grammy's in the comments below. #kpop #grammys #grammyawards #kmusic #2025grammys #musicawards
