From witch trials to vampires, your next thrilling adventure awaits in South Korea! We highlight some of the hottest events during this Halloween season! Which event are you going to this Halloween? Halloween in Korea has been a holiday that has been growing each year, and even after the tragic Itaewon crowd stampede in 2022 , many Koreans are still celebrating Halloween in a slightly more laid-back atmosphere. In this article, we will focus on the best places in Korea to celebrate this spooky holiday!   Lotte World Halloween Festival Lotte World in the center of Seoul, offers visitors a spooky experience featuring haunted houses, and themed spaces which are fun for all of the family. If that isn't enough, guests will also be able to enjoy parades and performances throughout the holidays. The park has also introduced new attractions and extended the festival duration for the 2025 celebrations, in a bid to enhance the Halloween experience for it's guests. Daegu Perhaps some of the Dojeon team are biased; however, Daegu is a great place to experience and enjoy Halloween this year. E-World will be hosting its annual family-friendly event called "Happy Halloween " , which will showcase some very special fireworks and parades throughout the holidays. Jeonju If you are after a Halloween that is perhaps a little more cultural and laid back, then Jeonju’s Halloween vibe is a more low-key option for you, thanks to its social events. In Jeonju you will be able to experience costume parties at local pubs, which is a great way of meeting people. It’s not a huge festival, but it offers a casual, fun Halloween atmosphere, and it is one that we would recommend! Starry Sea Busan Night Festa If you are looking for a coastal Halloween experience this year, then Busan is a great place to be during the festivities. Busan is a city with a great nightlife, and this year Busan will host different events for different ages. There will be themed programs like "Science & Magic Kids Night Playground" and the "Night Music Campnic & Travel Show." • Park Ji Hoon Delivers an Emotionally Adrenaline Charged Performance in "Weak Hero Class 1"

Ex-Produce 101 and Wanna One's Park Ji Hoon does it again with superb acting in his new fall drama Weak Hero Class 1 ! The eight-episode webtoon-based series surprised many with themes of school bullying and child abandonment violently displayed on the screen as the drama is rated 19+. Park Ji Hoon commands the camera with his superb acting skills as a depressed high school student that just wants to finish high school and move on with his life. We give you three reasons why Park Ji Hoon's acting is worth watching! 1. Dark and menacing demeanor What sets this role from other past roles that he's done is the dark and menacing demeanor Yeon Shi Eun (his character) displays throughout the series. His "don't mess with me" look he gives to fellow his classmate and class bully, Jeon Young Bin ( Kim Su Gyeom Juvenile Justice 2021), is authentic! The anger we feel while watching this drama is unreal! We can really relate to what Ji Hoon's character is feeling! Every scene is a buildup of angst and anxiety until there is a fight. The fighting scenes had us cheering for the "good guys" as they take on the local thugs hired by Young Bin. 2. When can I graduate? We've all been there! Some of us had a great time in high school, others not so much. Ji Hoon's character, Shi Eun, is the epitome of the latter. Constantly getting bullied with no friends and only focusing on studying, he can't wait to get out of high school! Park Ji Hoon's deliverance of his disgust for his fellow classmates and the situation at school can only be elevated by the fact that his father is constantly away for work and has no idea his son is emotionally distressed. 3. Amazing supporting cast Although Park Ji Hoon's acting is superb, we can't discount the fact that the support roles in this drama are equally impressive. Many of the scenes that Ji Hoon's character actually show emotion when he is provoked by those around him. One of the scenes is when Shi Eun is getting bullied by a local gangster, Jeon Seok Dae ( Shin Seung Ho Alchemy of Souls 2022), but Seok Dae shows compassion stating, "This is just business." while controlling his emotions during the fight, makes us, the audience, really feel bad for his situation. He is being paid to beat up another kid unfairly, so his conscious is eating away at him since he takes pride in being a fighter. So what do you think about Park Ji Hoon's acting? Are you impressed? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

  • New trending dramas "Welcome to Samdal-ri" & "Like Flowers in Sand" breathe life into Korea's small-town extinction

With a breath of fresh air as with the new year, the new trending dramas Welcome to Samdal-ri and Like Flowers in Sand are both forerunners for the best feel-good dramas at the beginning of this year! We break down how both of these dramas have us feeling great about rural Korean communities and what it means for you! If you don't know about South Korean rural towns, Korea is now facing a demographic crisis outside of its city centers. Small towns are on the verge of "disappearing" and residents are migrating to larger cities like Seoul and Incheon. Young people in search of a better life, Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Provence have surpassed 50 percent of the country's population. The government recently designated 89 out of the 228 cities, counties, and districts around the country as facing "extinction". (The Korea Times) So when we hear terrible news like this, living in South Korea faces harsh realities every day so we turn to K-dramas to take our minds off of it. If you haven't followed our K-drama reviews for both Welcome to Samdal-ri and Like Flowers in Sand , what are you waiting for? Both of these dramas embody the sense of a small-town Korean community that will take your breath away and give you positive vibes! *Spoiler Alert! In the latest episode of Welcome to Samdal-ri , Sam Dal's ( Shin Hae Sun ) mother, Ko Mi Ja, suffers from heart arrhythmia (her heartbeat is faster than normal). She goes unconscious while diving as a haenyeo (Korean female diver on Jeju Island). As soon as the news travels that she has collapsed and goes to the hospital, the whole town rallies around her family to give their support! The community vibes are just too good in this one! As for our next drama Like Flowers in Sand , Kim Baek Du ( Jang Dong Yoon ) is accused of being a suspect in the town's case of a dead body and is taken to the police station for questioning. While he is there, the whole town of Geosan comes together to support his family by asking around if anyone knows of a lawyer to protect him. By watching and following the characters and their communities in these amazing dramas, we feel that there is still community and hope in Korea's rural communities! Not to mention some of our staff members themselves also live in rural Korean towns and can confirm that Koreans are amazing and so hospitable in these areas that these dramas are just a small reflection of reality! • Choi Woo Sik is a master class on capturing emotional detail in new serial killer drama "A Killer Paradox"! Here's why!

Award-winning actor Choi Woo Sik displays his versatility in playing a confused serial killer in Netflix's new black comedy crime/thriller A Killer Paradox ! We break down all the details on why we think he is in a league of his own when it comes to attention to emotional detail! Spoilers! Plagued by the victims he killed, Lee Tang ( Choi Woo Sik Train to Busan 2016) struggles with his conscious concerning whether he should turn himself in. But the very thought scares him. But blackmailing him isn't the right answer either. Take a look at what he does to blackmailers. In a league of his own Choi Woo Sik displays a unique combination of victim and predator in his latest role as Lee Tang, a typical college guy who likes working out and talking about girls. Little did he know he could attract vile people who deserved to die from their previous crimes. Throughout the series, Lee Tang displays passive-aggressive behavior, depending on who he comes into contact with. He fights with his inner demons and moral beliefs on whether he should turn himself in, suicide, or continue with what he is doing. He even compares his newfound "skill" to a lottery ticket and considers continuing with his serial killer ways. Mind games, with himself It is an absolute pleasure to watch Lee Tang go back and forth in his thoughts, in his tiny one-room apartment playing scenarios in his head. Amusing as well as dark. The emotion shown on Choi Woo Sik's face is very clear to the audience about what he is thinking. We can actually sympathize with him as he takes us through his logic. Is Lee Tang right? A Killer Paradox makes us question whether Lee Tang's actions, killing evil human beings, is an act of justice. Since the law wasn't able to prosecute these ex-convicts properly, is it okay for Lee Tang to "take out the trash" one by one? Each episode introduces new characters that are equally, if not worse, than the previous ones that Lee Tang kills; a woman who kills her parents, a man who tries to take over his friend's family and sleeps with his wife, or two violent teenagers who stab a detective because their egos were hurt? Each episode makes the audience question their morals and that's what makes this series so much fun to watch!
