For a long time now, Hongdae has been a popular destination for locals and tourists alike when they visit Seoul. This article will focus on why Hongdae should be on your MUST-do list for places to visit in Seoul this year! What can I say, Hongdae is a cultural and culinary destination that is not to be missed on your trip to Seoul. Many Korean celebrities can also be spotted here occasionally, and the area has also been featured in many travel series, dramas, and music videos! Hongdae has so much going for it, not only is it located in central Seoul, it has a variety of clubs, bars, restaurants, and street performances, not to mention the thrift stores and photoshops! In the afternoon on weekends, and during the evenings, you will also notice lots of buskers and street performers playing to crowds, which for me makes the atmosphere feel alive! I recently discovered a rooftop bar that boasted a large cocktail menu and offered a fantastic view of the city. If you are like me, and you like people watching, then you will be in for a treat! At the end of the night, it is obligatory to visit one of the areas many photo studios. For me this concept is strange as these days everybody has a smart phone. however the fun loving feel good concept is a great factor, and I think it's great to try on all of the different costumes and accessories and not to mention the price is cheap as well.
