- Why is celebrity segregation about to begin at Incheon Airport?
Have you always loved waiting for your favorite celebrity to arrive at an airport? Well, as many of us have at one point in our lives, it won't be happening at Incheon Airport anymore. Read on to find out why! It has been announced that Incheon Airport plans to segregate and install separate entrances and exits for celebrities in the very near future. This new procedure will allow celebrities to use the airport more discretely when traveling from Incheon. This of course was not a decision that was taken lightly, and in fact, it has been found out that Incheon International Airport Corporation sent an official notice titled "Request for Cooperation in Compliance with the Procedure for Using Incheon Airport’s Dedicated Gate for Artist Departures" to entertainment agencies. This has stemmed from a number of incidents from both fans, private security and stars themselves over the past year or so. A document was later shared online which we are able to see below: This official document states: “To minimize situations that may lead to crowded gatherings, we have established a new procedure allowing celebrities and other public figures to use a dedicated entry and exit door at Incheon Airport. This will be implemented starting October 28, 2024.” This legislation seems to have been pushed through the right channels, in order to implement it without any delay. Recently, actor Byeon Woo Seok sparked controversy during his solo fan meeting tour in Hong Kong. He was reported to have flashed a camera at ordinary passengers, inspected the business rights of lounge users on the second floor, and attempted to control the gate for the general public, raising concerns about what has been dubbed "Emperor's Security". Let's check out some social media posts about this incident which recently made headlines. In response to such incidents, Incheon International Airport Corporation held a meeting with officials from major domestic entertainment agencies on the 20th to discuss a Celebrity Manual. The corporation requested that celebrities inform them of their personnel arrangements for security, aiming to reduce their time spent in the terminal and maintain order to prevent excessive crowding due to celebrities’ immigration activities. Incheon airport is Korea's main airport, and as the leading airport and the gateway to Korea, many celebrities will need to pass through this airport daily. Should they be treatet differently because of their job? Let's check out one of the changing moments when Byeon Woo Seok arrived at Incheon Airport! The Airport Corporation sent official letters to entertainment companies on July 29 urging them to refrain from exploiting their artists' popularity by leaking travel schedules in advance and to promote a culture of quiet arrivals and departures. This is because many agents, people who work close to the stars, or sometimes the stars themselves post on social media that they will be 'coming to Korea on X date', for example, which leads fans to head to the airport to try and catch a glimpse of their favorite star, or the chance to get a selfie with them. Although this is good publicity for the star and entertainment company, it can negatively affect other passengers, staff, and people trying to do their jobs at the airport. During the incident with Byeon, Byeon’s private security guards came under fire in July for blocking the airport gates, flashing lights at passengers in the airport lounge, and arbitrarily checking some passengers' tickets and passports without proper authorization from the airport, citing a need to protect the actor. He is not the only celebrity to be swarmed with adoring fans on arrival or departure at the Incheon airport. Let's take a look at a few more: Will this new segregation have any effect on lessening incidents at Incheon airport, or will they find a way to continue? Let us know your thoughts on this new procedure in the comments below. #bts #conan #incheon #incheonairport #celebrity #seoul #korea #koreatravel #policy #papped #paparazi #jungkook #byeon
- « I'm Scared » : Jimin Shocks Fans with His Latest Update
In this new year , a lot of things became different with BTS members , even the way they talk to their fans! What's new? At the beginning of 2025, BTS's Jimin shared an update with his fans on Weverse . But this wasn’t just any message, it was a heartfelt reflection on his fears, thoughts about the future, his bond with Jungkook , what he’s certain about, and what makes him sad. Jimin’s words offered a deep look into his emotions and mindset while serving in the military. So, what exactly did he reveal? Let’s break it down. What is he scared of? An unforgettable stage moment (pinned from Pinterest) Jimin openly admits that he’s a little scared about returning to the stage. It’s been a while since he performed, and the thought of getting back into it makes him nervous. He shares, “It’s been quite a while since we performed together… I’m a bit scared.” This isn’t just about performing, it’s about the uncertainty of returning to something that’s been such a big part of his life. He’s been away from the stage and the fans, and, naturally, he’d feel unsure about how it will all come together when they finally do come back. What does he think about the future? An iconic music video moment (sourced from Pinterest) When Jimin talks about the future, he and Jungkook are having deep conversations about what’s to come. They’re excited, but also thinking ahead to everything they need to do to be ready when they return to ARMY . “We’re talking about what we need to prepare for before we meet again, what we’ll show in the future, and what kind of life we’ll live.” It’s clear that Jimin’s been reflecting a lot on not just BTS’s comeback , but his own life moving forward. He’s imagining what kind of life he wants to live, beyond just being an idol, and is planning for what’s next. How has his perspective changed? A rare military-era snapshot of Jimin (sourced from Pinterest) Jimin is now 29, and you can really feel how much he’s grown over time. He’s in a different place in life now, and the military has been a big factor in shaping how he sees the world. The way he talks about his daily routine, training, working, and exercising, shows how much he’s had to step away from the fast-paced, glamorous idol life and embrace something much more structured. He’s been away from the stage for a while, and it’s given him space to think about what matters to him. He and Jungkook’s late-night chats are no longer just about their music, but also about their future as people, and what kind of lives they want to build when they return. This new perspective is part of Jimin’s maturity as he’s getting older and facing different challenges in life. What’s common between him and Jungkook? A military service memory of Jimin & Jungkook One thing that stands out is how closely Jimin and Jungkook are going through this phase together. They’re both dealing with similar thoughts about their future and their return to ARMY . They’re having long conversations about what they need to prepare, and it’s clear they’re in sync about what’s ahead. They’re both looking forward to performing again and are determined to come back stronger than ever. What is he sure about? A captivating scene from BTS’s MV (pinned from Pinterest) Even though Jimin has these fears, there’s one thing he’s certain about: when he does return, he’s going to give ARMY everything he has. He says, “I don’t change my mind that we will give you the performance for all of you who have waited so long.” No matter how scared or uncertain he feels, Jimin is committed to working hard to make sure that when they return, it’s everything fans have been waiting for. What is he sad about? A captivating shot of Jimin from BTS' "ON" While Jimin doesn’t directly say he’s sad, it’s easy to see that he’s feeling the distance from ARMY. He misses them deeply, and the time away from performing has made him nostalgic and emotional. He says, “ARMY, who we miss and are just thankful for.” You can see that he really wants to be with them again. Being apart makes him feel a little distant, but he is also thankful for ARMY’s love and support. Jimin’s message shows both worry and growth. He feels nervous about going back on stage, but he is also determined to do well. His talks with Jungkook show that he is thinking in a new way about his future, not just as a singer, but as a person. Now, at 29, he looks back on his journey and thinks about what comes next. Through everything, he really misses ARMY and can't wait to see them again. What do you think about all of that? - How to become an influencer in South Korea in 3 simple steps!
With the ever-growing trends of Social Media and pop culture influences, more people have wanted to become influencers online. This article will give you three simple tips on how YOU can become an influencer yourself in South Korea! Now the influencer and entertainment market in Korea is booming right now, which means that mostly anyone can become an influencer if the work is put into it. For me, promoting brands and Korea/Korean Culture has become the norm in recent years, however before moving to Korea I had found it a lot harder to do. So let's look at these three simple steps on how you can become an influencer yourself! So how can you become an influencer? Step 1: Well, as you may have guessed it is not going to happen over night, however I strongly recommend making a new social media account which is public, as the growth will later talk for itself, and also open you up to more followers and brands. Make sure to you write your bio in English and Korean as this will also help you to gain more attraction an ensure that you use relevant hash tags when you post, both to the product or place, but also in both languages. Step 2: Here is where you need to be persistent in contacting brands or companies. This may seem like the hard part, but maintaining a relationship is key to your success and will open you up to more opportunities later on. Also be sure to follow these companies on social media, for any updates on opportunities. Many Korean beauty brands and food companies are always looking for people from overseas to try their products and review them, in exchange for making a post about the product on social media to encourage more people to buy the product, some of which are also paid opportunities which is what you want to be aiming for. Step 3: Making content, is really important and it's recommended to post regularly to keep your following and growth. For me, I tend to make a post once a week, however it's sometimes more depending on the amount of products I have to review. In terms of stories, they can be fun and engaging to keep the audiences attention, however when you are working with a brand on a post, reel or story, be sure to follow their guidelines but for the most part you are encourages to be creative, which means coming up with fresh ideas all of the time. For me, that is one of the most. Of course, the travel market in Korea and with Korea named the destination to visit in 2024 (see my other article) there are many opportunities to promote regional Korea, festivals in Korea and the Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism, also run programs which have kicked off for 2024 known as Honorary Reporters and K-Influencers. Which I have been part of since 2020, and Honorary Reporters have allowed me to travel around Korea to some amazing places and offer monetary incentives for outstanding work. The Social Media market is huge and ever growing, which means that there is always new opportunities for different nationalities too. The influencer marketing sector which involves brand endorsements and collaborations is a great way to expose yourself to the market and Korean companies. Though it's good to start this will smaller companies who are looking to expand their presence online. So what are you waiting for? Let us know in the comments below about your journey! #socialmediainfluencer #southkorea #beautyinfluencer
- Unveiling the Timeless Charm of Jeonju Hanok Village! [Where to stay, eat, and play!]
Image: Jeonju Hanok Village - Photo: Lewis Hooper Forget the dazzling skylines and neon glow of the bustling cities like Seoul or Daegu for a moment, and take a journey with Dojeon Media's Lewis to Jeonju! This is a place that playfully dances with the definition of "city," although instead of steel and glass, you'll discover the gentle curves of modest Hanok homes and the comforting promise of time-honored local cuisine. Trust me, a visit to Jeonju is a breath of fresh air on any South Korea adventure, offering a captivating glimpse into a Korea unlike any other. Jeonju also offers that authentic cultural experience, allowing visitors to enjoy traditional customs and food, and if that is not enough, Jeonju snagged the title of a UNESCO City in 2012! Where is Jeonju? Nestled in the heart of West Korea, Jeonju offers a delightful pause on the journey between the bustling metropolis of Seoul to the north and the vibrant port city of Busan to the south. If your Korean adventure is a week-long affair, consider Jeonju your perfect midpoint escape, a chance to savor a different rhythm before diving back into the energy of the country's major hubs, not to mention this is the perfect chance to switch off and enjoy a more traditional side of Korea! Seoul to Jeonju: Is a Day Trip Doable? Absolutely! Even with a tight schedule, experiencing the charm of Jeonju Hanok Village on a day trip from Seoul is feasible. However, there's a unique joy in truly settling into a place, allowing yourself the unhurried pleasure of discovery. Jeonju boasts several captivating sights, and having an overnight stay provided the perfect opportunity to explore them at a relaxed pace. Getting there When it comes to getting around South Korea, prepare for impressive efficiency! Forget the long, arduous journeys often associated with Southeast Asian travel; here, public transport is a breeze. Both buses and trains offer swift and comfortable options for exploring the country. By Train (2025 KTX): Zoom between cities in under 2 hours on the KTX high-speed train . Expect to pay around ₩35,000 (approximately USD 28) for a ticket, which often includes a complimentary drink and a small cake. Booking is convenient: simply head to the train station or use Trip.com , an official partner of Korail, Korea's railway network. Unlike some local Korean sites, Trip.com readily accepts international payment methods. Just look for the three horizontal lines in the top right corner and then the flag icon to switch the language to English. By Bus: For the budget-conscious traveler, buses are a fantastic choice. While the journey to Jeonju takes approximately 3 hours from major cities, it's a cost-effective way to travel. Buses depart regularly from the Jeonju Express Bus Terminal. Online booking can be a bit cumbersome, so the easiest approach is usually to purchase your ticket directly at the terminal on the day of travel. With frequent departures, you're unlikely to encounter any issues. Find out more information about this in my YouTube video and Reel! Finding Your Perfect Hanok Stay in Jeonju A stay in a traditional hanok was a must-do on my Korean adventure! Image: Setting up my Hanok room at the IGA Hanok Hotel - Photo: Lewis Hooper More than just 'a Korean house', a hanok embodies the beauty of traditional Korean architecture. Picture modest structures crafted from rich, dark wood, crowned with gracefully sloping roofs, all centered around tranquil courtyards. Korean architecture embraces a profound connection between people and their environment, reflecting a spiritual harmony. Traditionally, hanoks were thoughtfully positioned with a mountain as a backdrop and a flowing river nearby, which offers the most beautiful picture opportunities! While Jeonju offers numerous hanok experiences, I was drawn to the award-winning architectural design of the Iga Hanok. The lovely owner, though not speaking English, made communication effortless with her warm smiles, a welcoming cup of tea, helpful maps and also the chance to learn about the inspiration for the design of their hanok. Savoring Jeonju's Legendary Bibimbap: A Culinary Pilgrimage My Jeonju exploration kicked off with a steaming bowl of bibimbap – a tradition I wholeheartedly wish to carry into all my travel adventures! Image: Jeonju Bimimbap - Photo: Lewis Hooper Prepare to be amazed: the image below showcases just the array of side dishes that accompanied my main course! As the undisputed birthplace of bibimbap, leaving Jeonju without indulging in at least one bowl of this iconic dish would simply be sacrilegious. For the uninitiated, bibimbap, meaning 'mixed rice', is a delightful and vibrant medley of egg, an assortment of fresh vegetables, crisp bean sprouts, tangy kimchi, and a flavorful pepper sauce, all artfully combined with rice. If you're navigating Korea on a budget, this satisfying and affordable dish is your steadfast ally in keeping expenses down. My generous serving of bibimbap, accompanied by an astounding twelve side dishes, came to the incredibly reasonable price of ₩12,000. Talk about a steal! These AMAZING sides included various types of kimchi, tender asparagus, a refreshing glass noodle salad, unique pickled jelly, sweet and tart gooseberries, syrup-glazed sweet potato, and so much more. Not to mention the Beef patty, which is a traditional way to eat bibimbap in Jeonju! Step Back in Time: Exploring the Enchanting Jeonju Hanok Village Jeongju Hanok Village offers a step back into history with modern amenities (Credits: Wanderboat.ai ) Whether you're nestled within the walls of a traditional hanok or not, a visit to the renowned Hanok Village is an absolute must. Trust me, this place lives up to the hype! It's a beautifully preserved traditional village brimming with cultural discoveries at every turn. Immerse yourself in the charm of Jeonju Hanok Village by exploring its calligraphy and sake museums, wandering along its tranquil lanes, sampling delicious Korean street snacks, or even embracing the local spirit by renting a vibrant hanbok , a traditional Korean outfit. Strike a Pose: Capturing Memories in a Jeonju Photobooth While Jeonju whispers tales of ancient traditions, it also embraces playful modern touches – and who can resist a fun selfie? Scattered throughout the Hanok Village, you'll stumble upon these delightful photo booths, offering the quintessential millennial memento! A Culinary Adventure Awaits: Exploring the Delights of Nambu Market For an authentic taste of Jeonju's local life and a deep dive into Korean cuisine, make your way to Nambu Market , the city's largest traditional market. For over two centuries, this vibrant hub has been a treasure trove of fresh produce, colorful fruits and vegetables, and an array of tempting hot dishes. While Google might suggest Nambu Market buzzes all day and evening, my experience differed. During my 6 PM visit, the stalls were mostly shuttered. However, I learned that the market truly comes alive on Friday and Saturday nights. It seems the prime time to soak in the full atmosphere and culinary offerings is during breakfast or lunch. Although the selection of hot food wasn't as extensive as I'd anticipated, my taste buds were certainly not disappointed. I stumbled upon some incredibly delicious Korean fried chicken . Perhaps not a traditional old-school Korean dish, but undeniably satisfying! A Hike to the Scenic Omodae Viewpoint Omodae Viewpoint during sunset is breathtaking! (Credit: Shutterstock) Given Jeonju's charmingly low skyline, panoramic views are surprisingly accessible. A short and sweet 5-minute walk up a few flights of wooden steps leads you to the delightful Omodae Viewpoint. From this vantage point, you can capture stunning photos of the picturesque Hanok Village spread out below. Once you've soaked in the scenery, it's an easy stroll back down to ground level – perhaps the perfect excuse to treat yourself to another delicious bowl of Jeonju's famed bibimbap after that invigorating climb! Discovering the Artistry of Jaman Mural Village Image: Beautiful art work at Jaman Mural Village - Photo: Lewis Hooper The beautiful duality of Korea never ceases to amaze me! Who would have guessed that the vibrant and contemporary Jaman Mural Village is nestled within this bastion of tradition? South Korea possesses a remarkable knack for seamlessly blending the old and the new – a delightful discovery for a street art enthusiast like myself. For the most visually stunning experience in Jeonju, a short stroll from the city center will lead you to Jaman Mural Village. Here, the walls and homes of this colorful residential area explode with whimsical, cartoon-inspired depictions of people and animals. - Jennie in Talks for "K-Pop Demon Hunters 2"? Here’s What We Know!
BLACKPINK's Jennie is rumored for the lead role in Netflix's smash hit animated film Kpop Demon Hunters ! Is this true or just speculation? We have all the details! Image: Kpop Demon Hunters and BLACKPINKS Jennie - Photo: Netflixtalks Jennie from BLACKPINK not only has a very successful career and portfolio, but she is also in high demand for roles outside of singing, thanks to the ever-growing K-culture industry at home and abroad. Kpop Demon Hunters has also helped to elevate K-culture and entertainment and the sequel Kpop Demon Hunters 2 will also have a star-studded cast. Now, there have been fan rumors, that Jennie might either voice the lead character Rumi, or perhaps star as a major inspiration behind her. If these fan rumors are to be true, then this would be another impressive milestone for Jennie! Why would Jennie be a good match? Fans have noticed strong visual and stylistic similarities between Jennie and Rumi, such as their fashion, attitude, and stage presence. Some interviews with the creators added fuel to the rumors when Jennie was mentioned as one of several inspirations for the character. However, director Maggie Kang later clarified that Rumi is not based solely on Jennie, but on a wide range of female artists, both within and outside of K-pop. The Dojeon team however, believe that these comments might have been a cover up, due to strong copyright laws if the character was perhaps based on Jennie. Despite this, some fans however believe Jennie’s image was used to promote the film without her actual involvement, sparking backlash and debate online. As of now, there is no official confirmation that Jennie has been cast in KPop Demon Hunters 2 or that the sequel is even fully in production. The creators maintain that Rumi is a mix of many influences, and Jennie is just one of many artists referenced during the design process. Too Booked for Demon Hunting? Fans, of course, are dubious about whether or not Jennie will become involved in the global hit show, as she might have turned it down, or whether she was never approached in the first place. As of now, Jennie has a packed schedule with music, fashion, and acting, so the US animated film might not bring much more to her career. Other fans have also mentioned that YG Entertainment would be cautious about letting her take on an international voice role without full creative control, which is, of course, common with K-pop labels. On the other hand, some fans have speculated that Jennie may be unaware of the new project, which could lead to this just being a rumor. We at Dojeon believe that Jennie would be a great fit for the role and that it will enhance her career with minimal work. Jennie Cameo Theories Are Running Wild Fans are buzzing with unconfirmed theories about Jennie’s potential role in KPop Demon Hunters 2 . Some imagine her as a “demon idol” antagonist or the idol Rumi looks up to. Others hope she’ll perform an original OST or appear in a post-credits teaser setting up the next generation. While none of this is confirmed, the speculation continues to fuel hype.
