* Spoilers!
Bloody, foul-mouthed, and full of ass-kicking, The Worst of Evil will bring emotions of anger, resentment, and an element of surprise as Park Jun Mo (Ji Chang Wook If You Wish Upon Me 2022), a low-ranking police officer takes on a case to infiltrate a new drug trafficking gang headed by its new charismatic leader Jung Gi Cheol (Wi Ha Joon Little Women 2022). The story of a young Gangnam DJ, Jung Gi Cheol, who rises to the top of Korea's most wealthy neighborhood as he topples older, more experienced crime lords this drama is definitely a must-watch! Here are three reasons why we're watching!
1. The storyline has us hooked!
Born out of necessity, "Not everyone in Gangnam is rich" says Jung Gi Cheol as he is offered to own the club that he is currently DJing by a local crime boss. His tenacity to make money fast by any means and his loyalty to his friends/subordinates are what got us hooked! Even when his good friend's "cousin", Park Jun Mo, suddenly appears, Gi Cheol is willing to take his word and accept him into his gang.
2. Ji Chang Wook is badass!
Unwilling to take "no" for an answer, Park Jun Mo barges his way into Jung Gi Cheol's operation demanding to take revenge on his recently murdered "cousin". His tenacity and sheer will to bring down this crime syndicate is fueled by his real family's condescending remarks as a low-ranking public official. In combination with his awesome fighting skills, its hard not to like the good-looking hero!
3. An unexpected love triangle!
Testosterone-driven in the first two episodes and we are blindsided by a sudden love triangle between Park Jun Mo's wife, Yoo Eui Jung (LIm Se Mi Duty After School 2023), Jung Gi Cheol, and Park Jun Mo! Apparently, the three went to the same school when they were younger and met each other through church! Haha! What a weird connection! But hey, it's a drama! Pouring more fuel to the fire, Park Jun Mo has more motivation to take down Jung Gi Cheol as we can feel his anger!
