"Golden" earns K-pop's first Grammy with EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami celebrating the award. At the 68th Grammy Awards, the trio behind the hit song “Golden” made history, winning Best Song Written for Visual Media-the first-ever Grammy for a K-pop act.
Audrey Nuna, one of the songwriters, shared her pride in her roots at the Grammys, calling herself a “proud daughter of an immigrant.” The trio turned heads on the red carpet, not just with their fashion but with the stories behind it. Audrey subtly tied her look to her family’s journey while keeping the focus on her heritage.
As she arrived at the 2026 Grammys with fellow HUNTR/X members EJAE and Rei Ami, Audrey explained the meaning behind her outfit. "I'm wearing Thom Browne couture tonight," she told. "It's a really meaningful look for me 'cause I'm obviously a proud daughter of immigrants."
She shared how her family’s history with the fashion industry influenced her choice, "Our story of survival is around clothing manufacturing," Audrey said. "And Thom Browne is one of the first brands that my grandpa ever fulfilled orders for, so it's a huge full-circle."
Her ensemble included a deconstructed oversized blazer with asymmetrical sleeves, layered over a white collared shirt and tie, paired with a ruffled skirt and white lace-up boots. She added, "Our story of survival was around clothing, manufacturing, and Thom Browne is one of the first brands that my grandpa ever fulfilled orders for. So it's a huge, full circle. Thank you to Thom Browne, Masika, and Alligator Jesus for the look."
Audrey, who voices Mira in K-pop Demon Hunters (portrayed on screen by May Hong), summed up her red carpet moment: "I'm wearing Thom Browne Couture tonight. It's a really meaningful look for me, because I'm obviously a proud daughter of immigrants."
The Grammy Win: Pride, Joy, and a Historic Moment
The trio also reflected on what winning a Grammy meant to them. EJAE described the moment as surreal, emotional, and historic. “Oh my god. This is a crazy moment. It's a historical moment. It's a glorious moment. We're very excited and just so honored,” she said, emphasizing the milestone for both the group and K-pop as a whole.
She also highlighted the global appeal of “Golden", noting how the song bridges cultures and genres: “It just goes to show that 'Golden' has Korean, K-pop, and pop influences as well. It goes to show that it doesn't matter what language it is, music is what connects everybody.”
Rei Ami admitted she was simply hoping for one award, but the win exceeded expectations. “Honestly, I was just rooting for one. I'm just glad we got one. We are honored to be here. I'm trying to get lit,” she said.
Audrey Nuna expressed great pride in the team and the journey leading to this historic moment: “I'm just really, really proud of everyone here, honestly. We have been working so hard for this moment, and I'm just beaming with joy,” she shared.
The Grammy also recognized the full songwriting team behind “Golden,” including EJAE, Park Hong-jun (Teddy), Joong Gyu-kwak, Lee Yu-han, Hee D.
