  • [EXCLUSIVE Interview] "Physical 100" Season 1 contestant Jeong Han Saem!

Physical 100 is coming back to our screens in March this year, and if you had as much fun watching the first series, you will be sure to tune in for the second season! We recently interviewed Jeong Han Saem who was a contestant on the Netflix show Physical 100 Season 1, to find out more about the show, as well as his successful career as a South Korean Actor & Model! Han Saem, tell me a few things about yourself. My name Han Saem, and I am 31 years old, however, you may know me by my stage name which is Jeong Han Saem , and I am a Korean actor and model, and I run a fitness center in Busan . You were a contestant on the latest Netflix show Physical 100 Season 1. What were the highlights of being on the show, and how did the role work? Many applicants wanted to appear on the show, and we were selected through several interviews. Actually. In the first team mission, "Moving Sand", I had organized the plan, as to how my team would compete in the challenge, and I had actually made the most important bridge as well in the game, as well as being confident and being able to run for a long time during the TOP20 game, but unfortunately, I was eliminated. Can you give me some insight into your workout routine with experience appearing on Netflix's Physical 100 Season 1? And what was the hardest part of the show? I think that the body function of every contestant had to be excellent as well as the balance being good, and of course, there were many national athletes and talented people who I was competing against, so, of course, I was worried at first. But once I had worked out the balance of using my strength and skills I learned how to play the game more effectively.  What do you think of Korea's entertainment industry compared to other countries?  I think that there are many interesting, cool, and pretty people in Korea, so I think it can be hard to succeed in the entertainment industry. However, if you are unique and have skills, then I believe that you will be successful someday, but the industry is good to work in and it faces challenges like most countries.  What made you want to enter the acting and modeling industry, and how did it happen? I liked to step up of the industry, and I used to get attention when I was young. After majoring in physical education, I started working as a fitness model first, and then I started to develop my dream of becoming an actor and model, from there I was lucky to appear on broadcasts. What skills are most valuable as an actor/model? For me, I would have to say that it's having a defined muscular body, which I always work hard to maintain, as well as having a powerful dance and acrobatic skills, and of course a good-looking charismatic face.   You performed on the TV Show Mr. Trot before, so could you share the details?   I was invited to audition for the show, and after doing so, I was chosen to sing in Mr.Trot. I sang trot with a body performance; I like to sing and with hard work, and I was able to appear on the show. You are a cast member and dancer of "Wild Wild". Can you tell us your role and what happened to it? Is there any difficulty? On the show Wild Wild I play the most important opening role, and then in each scene, I play an auxiliary role, who is also the main character of "Nanta's scene". It's a really good show, and of course it's a physical job, but I am having a great time! Han Saem in your career, what have been the highlights so far, and what have been the most challenging points? Right now, the highlight is working as an actor and model in my various roles as it always brings new opportunities, however, I plan to improve my skills and appear on other broadcasts to do various activities such as broadcasting and movies soon.  What can we expect from you in the near future? It's a secret, but I'm preparing for some broadcasting auditions, as well as preparing for a concert abroad.  Please can you say a few words for the readers at Dojeon Media? Thank you for your interest in me and your interview. I'll always show you my passionate growth. Please take good care of me. Let us know in the comments section who you would like us to interview! #physical100 #netflixactor #JeonHanSaem #koreanactor #interview #exclusiveinterview

  • 6 mouth-watering Korean snacks you must try!

Korean snacks are taking the world by storm, so in this article, we’ll tell you all about what’s out there so you can get your snack on! If you’re in Korea, most of these can be found at the local 편의점 (pyeonuijeom or convenience store). If you are living outside of Korea, you might be able to find them at a local Korean supermarket, or in the Korean aisle at a local supermarket or online. Korean snacks are like nothing you’ve experienced before – Koreans take snacking very seriously and have come up with some of the tastiest treats under the sun . Korean snacks you have to try immediately and try not to get too hungry as you’re reading! Korean Snack #1: Orion Choco Pie (오리온 초코파이 | Orion chokopai) Now this one is the most famous of all Korean snacks, and it is pretty much impossible to meet a Korean who does not know about Choco pies! In fact, they are an integral part of Korean society, and it is something that you definitely have to try! For me, I eat them fairly often and they are a very soft and chocolatey snack that can also be purchased pretty much anywhere in Korea. Korean Snack #2: Pepero (빼빼로 | Pepero) Have you ever loved a snack so much that you thought it deserved its own holiday ? Well, that’s how Koreans feel about Pepero, and it has its own holiday! Which is very popular in Korea. Most Koreans will give Pepero's to other people to express their gratitude. These delicious chocolate-covered sticks are a Korean favorite, and rightfully so. There are tons of varieties incorporating milk chocolate, white chocolate, sprinkles, and peanut butter – what more could you possibly ask for in a snack? Give Pepero a try the next time you’re in the mood for an easy-to-eat dessert, and you’ll see what all the fuss is about! Korean Snack #3: Lotte’s Kancho Choco Biscuits (칸쵸 초코 | kanchyo choko) Now, these are probably my favorite Korean snack ! These light and flaky chocolate-filled cookies are a dream come true for dessert lovers. There is a hint of milk chocolate inside so they are not super rich, but they still pack a punch. So the tiny snacks mean that you can pop one (or six...) in your mouth and eat them on the go. They also have adorable pictures printed on each cookie, so this snack serves as a great pick-me-up if you’re stress-eating and need to cheer yourself up. Pick up a box or container the next time you’re in the mood for a dessert that is quick, easy, and guaranteed to make you smile. Korean Snack #4: Dried Squid (해오징어 | haeojingeo) Alright, hear me out. Dried squid as a snack? I know it probably sounds a little outlandish, but this delicious seafood snack is similar to beef jerky in texture and is utterly delicious if you enjoy squid in its other variations. Like beef jerky, the texture takes a little getting used to, but this snack is perfect if you want to munch on something salty but need something more substantial (and full of protein) than chips and rice snacks. Take a walk on the wild side and pick up some dried squid – you’ll be converted after your first bite! You might also want to have this as a snack while watching Squid Game ! Korean Snack #5: Honey Butter Chips (허니버터칩 | heonibeoteochip) Honey butter chips have taken Korea by storm: since their release, the chips have been sold out nearly everywhere, and when they’re in stock people buy them by the box to make sure they don’t run out right away! If you do happen to stumble upon a bag of honey butter chips in the wild, be sure to snatch them up – these chips are insanely delicious and popular enough that celebrities have exclusive bags sent directly to them to advertise and post selfies with. Let the hunt begin! Korean Snack #9: Lotte Ghana Milk Chocolate (가나 밀크 초콜릿 | gana milkeu chokollit) As a chocolate lover, I’m a firm believer that sometimes, there’s no better snack than straight-up milk chocolate. If you’re also a believer in the magical properties of chocolate, look no further – Lotte Ghana is one of the most popular brands of chocolate in Korea, and for good reason! Chocolate didn’t become big in Korea until the mid-twentieth century when it was introduced via the Westerners who were posted up for the Korean War. Lotte introduced Ghana milk chocolate to the world in the mid-1970s, and the rest is history! The reason Ghana is so popular (aside from being delicious) is the love that is put into the chocolate-making technique – rather than just slapping together some subpar chocolate, Lotte developed a micro-grinding technique that breaks the particles in the chocolate down to tiny pieces, resulting in a smooth and delicious chocolate bar. Give it a try for yourself and see what all the fuss is about! You should definitely, try all of these Korean snacks, as you will not be disappointed. Let us know in the comments below which Korean snacks you enjoy or want to try! #koreansnacks #koreanfoodie #koreanfood #musttry #musteat

  • 5 K-pop songs to diversify your playlist in 2024!

K-pop has a huge platform of good music to choose from for any of your preferences. When becoming a K-pop fan, I easily found something I liked with groups taking risks in different sounds. I love taking new recommendations as a way to expand my Apple music playlists and want to do the same for you! Here are some picks you may have not heard of that you can dance, sing, or even cry along with! Enjoy! 1. "Faded In My Last Song" — NCT U Starting strong, NCT is the best example of finding anything you may like! The group has dabbled in so many genres of music, ranging from hip-hop to ballads. "Faded In My Last Song" is the one song I’d recommend that shows fans the top-notch vocals the group has. With a slow melody and a strong piano presence, the song is perfect for closing your eyes and escaping reality. 2. "Butterfly" — P1Harmony P1Harmony is another group that gives their fans, P1ece, a variety of sounds to love. "Butterfly" is another vocal-heavy song with a R&B sound that the group does so well. However, the rappers stand out with their verses that blend perfectly with the flow of the song. "Butterfly" is a great introduction to the group and will hook you into their fandom! "3. Like Crazy" — Jimin (BTS) My biggest goal for this list was to give fans songs that give a taste of the versatility of K-pop and how not all songs are cute and upbeat. “Like Crazy” is far from that. The song has a jazzy beat and depicts lyrics about letting the music take you away! This song is a perfect addition to the soundtrack for the club. Add this for a boost of energy to dance all night long in your room! 4. "Take Me Home" — Ateez Ateez’s usual strong title tracks often contrast with a few songs from their album, showing fans they are artists capable of many different colors. This track has a slower, retro sound that brings out the amazing vocals the members have along with smooth raps. The emotion conveyed in this song is captivating right along with the saxophone that ends the song. It gives a transcendent vibe that makes you feel like you’ve been teleported away!   5. "One Last Time" — Girls' Generation Last but certainly not least, the token girl group song for this list. The song is piano-forward, beautifully written, and sung with the emotions that pair so well with it. As a seasoned group, you feel the years of hard work and love in this song. Since its release in 2017, it still gives a nostalgically sad feeling that makes you feel at peace. Put in the earphones and let yourself feel and maybe even cry while you listen! Give us some good K-pop recommendations for our playlist in the comments and find more K-pop love here !  #P1Harmony #GirlsGeneration #Ateez #Jimin #NCTU #likecrazy #kpopplaylist

  • [Restaurant Review] KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot in Austin Texas! Korean fusion dining at its best!

Location: 5200 Brodie Ln, Sunset Valley, TX 78745 HOURS OF OPERATION: SUN – THURS: 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM  (Last seating is at 9:30 PM) FRI – SAT: 12:00 PM  – 11:30 PM (Last seating is at 10:30 PM) PHONE NUMBER: 512-356-9388 Hot Pot and KBBQ are the best ways to add a dinner plan when you can't decide. This newly opened, but part of a chain, restaurant in Austin is putting the two together. While Hot Pot is originally a Chinese dish, KPOT is putting a Korean spin on the versatile dish. When I visited for dinner, this spot cemented itself as a new favorite! KPOT has a nice interior that gives the perfect vibes for a night on the town. Neon signs, a bar, big televisions, and ample space create an ambiance that is in between fancy and low-budget. Upon entering in my blazer and heels, I didn't feel out of place, but I wouldn't have in jeans and a T-shirt either. It's easy to know how popular the place has already become with the wait being 35 minutes on a Tuesday night! The staff and food were the highlight of the night, as the hostess welcomed us with the sweetest smile and politely took our names and party numbers. Despite the wait, we were excited to start the night even more. Once seated our waiter was even better, giving us any time we needed to think and explaining the menu and the way things worked. Throughout the night he constantly changed our grill, refilled our drinks, and took more orders of food (and that he did a lot)! He never showed signs of being tired and always offered a big smile and any help we needed! We decided on just KBBQ that night, but the Hot Pot is an add-on for only $5 extra dollars! I caught myself wanting it as I saw how good it looked passing by me on the waiter's tray. The meat was absolutely amazing and perfectly marinated. We chose almost all of the all-you-can-eat meat, veggies, and seafood, as the portions are small and easy to stack up. You also have free access to a sauce bar with more veggies, fruit, and even a small desert! I had such a fun time there enjoying my food and the music played on the speakers. If you ever decide to come, make sure you work up an appetite and are ready for great service! Tell us your favorite KBBQ spot in the comments and check out another restaurant review here ! #KBBQ #HotPot #AustinTexas #KPOT #Dinner #restaurant

  • An off-the-grid getaway! Exploring the beautiful seaside town of Yeosu, Korea!

Korea is well known for its mega city and capital Seoul , however, most people don't realize, that Korea has many beautiful beaches and towns throughout the country, that international tourists don't usually visit. Recently, I went to Yeosu-si in the south of the country. Let me share my beautiful experience with you! I wanted to experience a different side of Korea. One where foreign tourists would tend not to travel, but rather those domesticated tourists, as well as trying to find both a location and accommodation which was dog friendly. After an extensive search, I discovered Yeosu-Si.  I booked this Pension for 3 nights (Link below), which was based on two people and two dogs (A Beagle and a Pug and a Jindo) at a really affordable price!   https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/19846688?check_out=2021-10-12&check_in=2021-10-09&adults=2&guests=2&s=13&unique_share_id=948716d1-5da6-4ad1-82c1-b61fc65ea608&fbclid=IwAR1QdV2w5Eh-SCZhEJ9rBZzYgSpFHAqhm3KxWjn8QLGf5zRlH7wzoAZ6fXY&_branch_match_id=859709027038428793&source_impression_id=p3_1633927258_A5vDGtBYCx%2Ff%2BMwY The contact from the host was good from the booking and during the stay. When we arrived at the pension (lodging facilities), we were given a tour of the accommodation and some help with our luggage which was welcomed after a 4.5-hour drive from Daegu. We opted to go for the pool to be filled, before our arrival and this was a great way to cool down.  Located at the top of a steep hill, and in the middle of the National Park (Hyangiram Hermitage) the accommodation offered great views over the bay and had a good selection of local kimchi stores and cafes just a stone's throw away. The pension was family owned and operated which was also a nice touch and enhanced the experience for us! The accommodation was spread over two floors, with the master bedroom and balcony upstairs, and the bathroom, sofa bed, and lounge area downstairs. You were able to open up the doors downstairs, and walk straight into the small pool, or sit out on a private area of the deck. Just ahead was a small enclosed area where the dogs were able to run around, which was great.  Just a short walk away was  Hyangiram Hermitage , which offered spectacular views but also held this off-the-grid tranquil ambiance which is hard to find these days, especially living in a city. On the walk up to the temple, there were a handful of friendly street vendors, where you could buy locally made crafts or food. So much detail had gone into the stonework on the way up to the temple, as well as offering a step back in time, through a small tunnel which was carved through the rocks.  After the visit to the temple, I stopped by a local Korean restaurant and ordered a local seafood pancake. This was served with a side of spring onion Kimchi which was made on-site. The pancake was superb, and the flavors were subtle, but succulent, leaving you feeling full afterward. This, with the accommodation and local vendors, offers a real sense of the saying "local community". Another great experience (and one that I would recommend) is a visit to Bangsukpo Beach .  Here, I was able to let my dogs off leash and enjoy their first trip to the beach. The smiles on their faces made it all worthwhile. The view over the bay was spectacular and the water was also very still. It reminded me a lot of the Riviera and not something that I would have expected in Korea. The water was warm, and it was a safe area to unleash the dogs. There were also a handful of local fishermen standing on the dock, catching small fish to big crabs.  Overall, the weekend trip was amazing, as it offered a dog-friendly stay, but also so many different and incredible experiences! If you are looking to step away from a stressful busy city lifestyle for a few days, I would thoroughly recommend visiting Yeosu-si. Likewise, if you are traveling around Korea, this really is a hidden gem and one not to miss! • BTS's "Dynamite" music video reaches 1.8 billion views! And what it means to ARMY!

"Dynamite" , the iconic song by global K-pop sensation BTS , has now become the fastest music video by a K-pop act to reach 1.8 billion views on YouTube! It was revealed earlier last week (February 23, 2024) The music video is also their most-watched, to date! Let's get into the details! Not only is this song catchy, and has incredible dance moves, but it is also relatable in both Korean and English with its bilingual lyrics. As for the single "Dynamite", BTS released this song at the peak of the pandemic. The intention behind the disco-pop song was to spread some cheer when the world was feeling down, and it certainly did for me! Though the song was released to spread some cheer, it quickly became a sensation, taking over several musical charts all over the world! Now, the members of BTS are doing their mandatory military service in Korea, but the boy band is set to make a comeback in 2025. I for one, cannot wait for this to happen! Let us know what the song Dynamite means to you, and if it helped you through the COVID-19 pandemic in the comments below! #BTS #dynamite #Dynamite1_8B
