- Legends Never Fade: The K-Pop Groups We Must Not Forget
Honoring the bands that paved the way, defied the charts, and built the global stage we love today. We cover the top groups that left a lasting legacy, and which ones might be forgotten. Did we leave any groups out? K-pops hottest groups! Credit: https://www.byeolkorea.com/ The Unsung Icons of K-Pop In this article, the Dojeon team is going to take a deep dive into some groups that continue to dominate the daily charts, while others have built a legacy through sheer talent and a global bond that transcends rankings. It’s time we give flowers to the bands that continue to define the genre’s depth and diversity. Understanding the 7 Tiers of K-Pop The K-pop industry is often ranked into seven levels of popularity, ranging from the world-dominating "S-Tier" (like BTS and Blackpink ) down to the "Nugu" groups fighting for a debut. Most of the artists that we have come to love and support, often for their unique concepts, like Dreamcatcher or WJSN, reside in the high "Mid-Tier," where they have huge talent but lack the "Big 4" company push. Defying the Genre Norms Dreamcatcher stands out thanks to their signature rock and metal-infused sounds! They are mainly known for having a bold, standout sound and image from the typical "bubbly" pop found on domestic charts. Dreamcatcher is often overlooked in Korea because their dark, supernatural concepts appeal more to Western rock fans than the mainstream domestic audience. Could 2026 and the shift of the K-pop industry welcome more mainstream music from this incredible band? The Cost of Complexity LOONA changed the game with an intricate "Loonaverse" lore and a high-budget pre-debut project that built a massive, cult-like international following. Ever since this mind-blowing success, legal battles and long gaps between releases have sadly caused them to lose momentum at home. This has unfortunately made it easy for casual listeners to lose track of their brilliance. What is your favorite track from LOONA? Navigating the Crowded Market Next up is WJSN (Cosmic Girls). The Dojeon team has spoken out about the crowded K-pop market and how difficult it is for bands to navigate and stand out. Sadly, this is the case for WJSN. In the past, they have been celebrated for their elegant, ethereal concepts and synchronized choreography that truly feels "out of this world." However, despite their high-quality discography, they often get lost in the shuffle of "Big 4" company debuts. This has proved how hard it is for mid-tier groups to maintain a permanent spot in the spotlight. Will you start streaming their music to get them more views and revenue? The Price of Independence Despite their massive global hits, NewJeans faced a turbulent period of hiatus and line-up shifts due to intense legal disputes with their label. The Dojeon team has followed this rollercoaster of a journey every step of the way. Sadly, they are at risk of being forgotten by the industry, not because of talent, but because corporate battles can often overshadow the music itself. With this scandal still ongoing, we wonder what 2026 will bring for them. The Power of Fandom For K-pop groups, having a strong fan base is key, especially when it comes to loyalty. Fan bases are known for keeping artists' music alive, and with social media, any news is simply good news, as it keeps artists relevant! Sadly, without this unwavering support, many of the industry's most creative moments would have gone unnoticed. Final thoughts We believe that popularity comes and goes; however, the impact from some of these K-pop acts is permanent. We want to continue to make sure that these talented artists remain part of the conversation when it comes to all things K-pop! Will 2026 bring more success for some of these incredible artists? - Why do Koreans always ask for your MBTI?
If you speak to any Korean from the younger generation, they will most likely ask for your MBTI. This is the modern way to categorize your personality into one of the 16 groups. Let's find out why this has become a phenomenon! Before we dive into this article, let's take a look at different MBTI types on the chart: Have you ever heard someone describe themselves as an INTJ or an ESTP and wondered what those cryptic-sounding letters could mean? What these people are referring to is their personality type based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Based on the answers to the questions on the inventory, people are identified as having one of 16 personality types. The goal of the MBTI is to allow respondents to further explore and understand their personalities including their likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, possible career preferences, and compatibility with other people. No one personality type is "best" or "better" than another. It isn't a tool designed to look for dysfunction or abnormality. Instead, its goal is simply to help you learn more about yourself. The questionnaire itself is made up of four different scales, so at the end of this article I have included one link that will take you to the MBTI test, where you can then let us know your MBTI results in the comments. Here's an oldie-but-goodie video of NCT revealing their MBTIs! During my time in Korea and especially over the past year, I have been asked my MBTI type at least once a week. After being hesitant, at first with doing the test, as since I am from the UK, I believe in star signs more. I took the test and discovered that I mainly fall under the INFP category. I was not surprised when I read the traits and characteristics that fall under this category, as they are very true to my behavior. I do, however, think that considering Koreans used to use blood types to determine personality, this chart can be more accurate and, of course, there are more options to choose from, which make it more interesting. Let's take a look at this video to get a better understanding: Why not take the test for yourself? https://www.thepersonalitylab.org/m2?gad_source=5&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItN73zcnnhwMVkGZBAh38lS6HEAAYAiAAEgI60_D_BwE Let us know what your MBTI is in the comments below. #MBTI #kpopidols #myersbriggs #personalitytest

KPop Demon Hunters : Limited Edition OST Additional Release - Unleash Your Inner Demon Hunter. Read on to find out more details on this shocking additional release! Image: Kpop Demon Hunters - Photo: NETFLIX Fan anticipation for a sequel Kpop Demon Hunters has taken over global cinemas, and the fan reaction to the show has been overwhelmingly positive, despite the creators' first thoughts. The news has sparked a massive wave of excitement on social media, with the hashtag #KpopDemonHunters2 trending globally within hours of the announcement! The anticipation for a sequel so soon after the first film's ending is mainly due to the unresolved fate of one of the characters, Jinu, who actually left fans of the show speculating about his potential return in the second film. Fans of the show are hoping that he will be brought back in the second film, with some fans even finding the time to point out subtle visual clues in the first film as possible evidence. If that's not all, the soundtracks in the first film have also dominated global music charts, with hits like "Soda Pop" and "Golden" being the forerunners. Some fans have also posted covers of themselves singing these on social media, alongside dance challenges and fan art, which have in turn created more hype around the movie. As a result, the film's directors noted that the success of the music and the viral nature of fan-created content contributed to the film’s overall popularity. This could also be due to the positive representation that was used in the film's storyline. Korean Culture has taken off in recent years globally, and this is seen as a culmination of the growing popularity of Korean pop culture, and fans are proud to see it being embraced in mainstream Western media. That, mixed with K-pop fandoms' prosperity and growth, it has become a mecca for content creation, showing fan dedication. Limited Edition theatrical event Following its success, Netflix has now added the new sing-along version of the animation to its library where it is now available to stream worldwide. In a limited theatrical event, a sing-along version of the movie was released on 23 August and 24 August, leading to 1,000 sold-out screenings across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. The Experience and Atmosphere Interactive aspects unlike a typical movie, the screenings included on-screen lyrics, turning the theatre into a concert-like experience. This allows fans to enjoy cheering and seeing a long to their favorite songs at the top of their lungs just like they would in a concert setting which is one of the main selling points for this brand new show!
