  • Explore the new wave of Korean AI and tech at Daegu's Robotics Festival!

Over the years AI and computer science have become increasingly popular, and as a result, more people have gained an interest in studying the subject and developing products. Dojeon team member, Lewis, heads over this year's Daegu Robotics Expo and you won't believe what he found! I really had no idea what to expect before I went to the Expo, and I genuinely left feeling motivated for the changes in technology for the future since I believe that this is something that Korea does well! Daegu is known as "Powerful Daegu" and this is mainly because of its advances and focus on technology. Held on June 4 , this particular Robotics Expo was open to students to showcase their innovative designs! The scale of the Expo center was really much bigger than I had expected it to be, and when I arrived at the venue, I was welcomed by an English-speaking guide to show me around! The Mayor of Daegu was also in attendance at the event, and I got to meet him at the end. I found out that this event takes place each year, and as a result, students from local schools and universities participate in their projects to gain rewards and recognition for their innovative ideas! What I thought was remarkable, was the amount of insanely great ideas some of the kids and entries had for ways in which technology can help improve our day-to-day lives for the better. I remember when I was in middle school, and there was no option to study computer science, as this was back in the early 2000s. It is incredible how fast technology has changed in a short space of time. Without a doubt, I will be returning to the event next year, as I think it's great to experience many different things while I am in Korea, and I think it should be on your list of places to visit as well! If you're interested in going to the next expo, Daegu will be holding its 13th Robot Expo from Wednesday, October 23 - Saturday, October, 26 at the EXCO Center! Click here for more details! • K-Pop Audition Secrets Trainees Wish They Knew Earlier!

What the biggest companies REALLY look for — and why most applicants get it wrong. We have the details on how you can ace your K-pop audition! K-pop audition secrets - Credit: https://www.singingaudition.in/ The Secret Formula Have you ever wondered what really happens at a K-pop audition ? Here at Dojeon Media, we know that these auditions can feel like an impossible mystery. However, top companies actually follow clear patterns and formulas when scouting the next generation of stars. Here is what industry insiders say they really  look for—beyond talent alone! Raw Potential K-pop agencies these days tend to prioritize potential and youth over how polished an act currently is. This is a core part of their brand image; they want trainees who can pick up new skills and improve rapidly . Trainees are often put under immense pressure to adapt and accept agency feedback positively—without questioning it. All too often, a trainee walks into an audition with only basic dance or vocal skills. While many think this is a deal breaker, agencies are often less focused on "flashy" or "viral" moves and more interested in clean rhythm, good posture, and a solid foundation. Judges immediately notice if a trainee picks up choreography fast, maintains natural facial expressions, and adjusts their form the moment they are corrected. A Natural Voice Agencies might not say it explicitly, but they are always hunting for a distinctive vocal tone. They want voices that stand out from the get-go—in the industry, a unique "color" is the true money-maker! Clean Dance You don’t need advanced choreography to impress. Instead, clean lines, rhythm control, and confidence are essential. Showing a stable foundation tells trainers you are "moldable". After all, if you’ve ever watched survival shows, you’ve likely noticed that agencies often "make over" their talent to make them more marketable. Camera Awareness Since K-pop is built on content and digital engagement, companies want trainees who can connect through a lens. Being comfortable in front of the camera is key —this includes subtle expressions, eye contact, and emotional delivery. This is the “it factor” that agencies spot in seconds. Even a beginner can stand out if their energy fills the room; a charismatic trainee will always win over someone who feels awkward in front of a crowd or a camera. The Secret Metric: The First Ten Seconds Companies secretly watch how you walk into the room and how you behave between takes. Your attitude and professionalism matter just as much as the performance itself. It is said that the "pass/fail" decision often happens within the first ten seconds . Is that even enough time to take a step forward? Sadly, because big agencies have so many hopefuls, they can afford to be incredibly picky. Fan Responses Many hopeful trainees say they finally understand why they didn’t pass previous rounds after learning these hidden criteria. For a long time, fans have been sharing tips on social media regarding what might have saved them in past trials. This remains a trending topic that continues to gain massive traction online. Final Thoughts The Dojeon team believes that K-pop auditions aren’t just about talent—they’re about potential, personality, and presence. Once you understand what companies truly value, the preparation process becomes far less intimidating.
