BREAKING news, with the recent NewJeans plea for former HYBE CEO to be reinstated, the new HYBE CEO breaks silence. Let's get into the details!
On the morning of September 12 KST, it was a bleak morning for HYBE members and stakeholders. Actually, this was the first extraordinary meeting of HYBE Labels shareholders in recent months following the outed former CEO Min. (See my previous article).
On this day, Lee Jae Sang, previously Chief Strategy Officer, was officially appointed CEO of HYBE, taking over after Park Ji Won.
After the HYBE signed band made an unannounced YouTube public plea, the newly appointment CEO, Lee Jae Sang, commented on the latest request made by the members of NewJeans, asking to have Min Hee Jin restored to her position as CEO of ADOR. Lee told reporters, "It will take some time, but we will stick to regulations and respond calmly. HYBE is a company which follows the rules and pursues precision management. Looking back, those who follow the rules always end up as the winners."
We at Dojeon Media agree with this statement. It was not so long ago that NewJeans and other public figures were trying to get the CEO replaced. Their public pleas seemed very unprofessional and inexperienced.
Some industry insiders understood Lee Jae Sang's comment to mean that HYBE Labels will not abide by the request of the NewJeans members, and will continue to separate management from creative production in the era of HYBE 2.0, which we believe will be a fresh era for the label.
Although this statement was short and sweet, we hope that it has an impact and stops all of the drama that has erupted over what should have been a simple replacement of the CEO.
