  • Labubu’s Dark Secret: Is K-Pop Fueling the Sweatshop Trend?

Unmasking the Korean market as the foremost contributor to grueling Labubu labor conditions. What is happening, and how can this issue be resolved? We uncover this story! Image: Labubu New Year Chinese New Year Snake Ancient Style Hanbok - Image: https://shopee.ph/ Labubu's Dark Secret: Is K-Pop Fueling the Sweatshop Trend? Underneath the glossy, playful worldwide trend of these cute but rather ugly figures Labubu , you will uncover a very troubling reality for many hands that craft them. Known as the "dark side" of their high mass production, it often takes place in what are known globally as "sweat factories" and not creative freedom, like their creators would like you to think. With K-pop celebrities like   Lisa from BLACKPINK  taking to TikTok with the slogan "Aahhh... my baby took the pink Labubu", is she helping feed the endless and underregulated fast fashion/trend machine? BLACKPINK's Lisa & Labubu: Unpacking the Dark Side of Viral Trends With Lisa's social media post, BLINKS worldwide rushed to stores to try and fight for a chance to buy their own plushie. We have previously written about how fights globally are kicking off in the UK, Korea, and the US as fans are desperate to get their hands on the latest toy, but what does this mean for the poor workers? Often in these factories, the workers or migrants are very vulnerable, and as a result have to endure long hours past legal limits, with no money left at the end of the month to cover their living expenses. With the retail prices of Labubu plushies ranging from USD 20 to over USD 400, these workers see not even close to the highest price after a month of working. Instead, the conditions are frequently grim: poorly ventilated spaces filled with the fumes of paints and plastics, inadequate safety measures, and crowded workstations that leave little room for comfort or dignity. It's a relentless cycle of repetition and exhaustion, stripping away the joy from what should be an artistic endeavor. The Korean Market: A Primary Driver of Collectible Sweatshops From the latest trend and strong yearning for the latest trend, the pressure from the Korean market demands new releases in strong volumes, and sadly, Korea has emerged as one of the worst culprits , putting pressure on this already unregulated industry. This drive for rapid turnover and cost efficiency forces manufacturers to cut corners, perpetuating sweatshop labour to meet fervent consumer demand. The K-Pop Effect: Navigating the Korean Re-Sale Market The competitive resale market in Korea is a very vibrant and ever-expanding space, which some say is shaped by the dynamic K-pop world. This is thanks to limited edition albums and concert merchandise often endorsed by idols, which has resulted in a demand that creates a rapid turnover of highly coveted goods. This frenetic activity means sought-after items often sell out instantly, pushing fans to dedicated online platforms and physical stores in the secondary market. The perceived scarcity and exclusivity, often amplified by K-pop's global reach, drive prices sky-high for rare collectibles. Understanding this unique interplay between K-pop's influence and consumer desire is key to navigating South Korea's booming resale landscape. However, at times, as seen on social media in China, many counterfeit goods are being produced, often with many yearning for the same retail price as the official merchandise. Do you have a Labubu plushie in your collection? We're eager to know: what's the story behind your decision to bring one home? Share your reasons and experiences with us in the comments below – we'd love to hear from you! #Labubu #PopMart #KPopResale #KoreanMarket #KPopCollectibles #FandomEconomy #ResaleTrends #LimitedEdition #KPopMerch #SecondaryMarket

  • Is “Trigger” on Netflix Worth Watching? Why Kim Young Kwang’s Villain Role Shocks Fans!

Trigger K-drama tops Netflix amid South Korea controversy (Credits: Netflix) Netflix’s new K-drama, Trigger , is creating waves globally, despite being ironically banned in South Korea. Released on July 25, 2025, the series quickly surged into Netflix’s Global Top 10 (non-English category), all while being on the verge of a ban in its own country. With a chilling question at its core, "What happens when everyone has access to guns?" the show is sparking debates and fan discussions like no other. But is Trigger  worth watching? Here’s what makes it so compelling. ALSO READ: “Trigger” on Netflix Hits Different—Because Guns Are Rare in South Korea The Premise: What Happens If Everyone Has a Gun? Set in a fictional South Korea, Trigger  opens with illegal guns mysteriously delivered to everyday people—no explanations, no warnings. Enter Lee Do ( Kim Nam-Gil ), a former military sniper turned detective tasked with uncovering the source of the weapons. Opposing him is Moon Baek ( Kim Young-Kwang ), a charming yet dangerous arms dealer with a personal vendetta. As violence spreads, each episode zooms in on ordinary citizens, bullied teens, exhausted workers, grieving parents pushed to the edge. The question quickly shifts from “who’s behind it” to “what are we all capable of?” Trigger (Credits: Netflix) The Real-World Backlash: A Drama Too Close to Home? While Trigger  dominated international charts, it faced backlash in South Korea, where it remains unavailable on local platforms. Following a real-life shooting in Incheon , the show’s promotional event was cancelled, and producers clarified that the storyline was fictional and unrelated. Still, the timing struck a nerve. In a culture where gun ownership is taboo, the premise didn’t just feel bold—it felt dangerous. Trigger (Credits: Netflix) Kim Young Kwang’s Villain Role Has Fans Shocked—and Kinda Obsessed Moon Baek isn’t your average K-drama villain. Kim Young Kwang brings him to life with a calm, almost soft-spoken charm that hides something much darker. His motives are personal, his actions cold, and yet... fans can’t  look away. On social media, people are loving the twist: “Why do I lowkey want the villain to win? I’ve never felt this conflicted watching a drama!” Another fan commented: “This is the first time I’ve watched a K-drama and felt the villain is just as compelling as the main character… I kind of just want to make them friends.” His revenge isn’t just evil, it’s emotional. That’s what makes his character so shocking and powerful. Kim Young Kwang plays him in a calm but scary way, and that mix is what stays with you long after watching. It’s rare for a villain to steal the spotlight, but Kim Young Kwang does it effortlessly. Trigger (Credits: Netflix) What Critics and Fans Are Saying Despite the controversy, Trigger  is being celebrated abroad for its daring storytelling. Here’s what audiences and critics are saying: What Worked: High-stakes drama : The psychological tension is relentless. Strong performances : Both Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang bring depth to complex roles. Bold themes : Gun culture, social decay, and trauma are explored with rare honesty. Trigger (Credits: Netflix) What Didn’t: Pacing issues : Critics noted that the middle episodes dragged. Shallow subplots : Some characters felt underused or stereotypical. No real resolution : The ending left many viewers unsatisfied, with no clear answers to the core moral question. On Reddit, fans called it a “necessary chaos”—a rare Korean drama that forces you to sit with discomfort. On Rotten Tomatoes, the show holds a rare 100% score, despite divided opinions on the writing. ALSO READ : Why Are These Underrated K-Dramas Back on Netflix and Climbing the Charts Again? Final Verdict: Is Trigger  Worth Your Time? If you’re looking for something different from your usual K-drama fare, Trigger  offers a unique blend of thriller, social commentary, and emotional suspense. It’s not perfect. But it dares to go where few Korean dramas do, asking what justice, morality, and survival look like when everyone’s armed. Some say it’s a wake-up call. Others think it’s an overreach. Either way, Trigger  refuses to be ignored. Image: BTS's Jin and BLACKPINK's Jisoo - Photo: koreaboo.com Caught in Checkers: Jin and Jisoo Spark Dating Frenzy! When it comes to dating, the K-pop world is not that big. We mean, who could keep up with such harsh and rigorous schedules than another K-pop star, right? This latest K-pop rumor started buzzing around fan sites on the internet and social media all thanks to a matching checker buttoned shirt. The rumors are that BTS's Jin and BLACKPINK's Jisoo are dating . Jin also had a viral concert moment, where he highlighted his "unexpected" stage outfit, combined with Jisoo's recent social media post featuring a near-identical top, has sent fans into a frenzy. While some celebrate the alleged couple, others dismiss it as a mere coincidence. Both idols remain busy with their respective group and solo activities amidst the online whirlwind. ARMYs & BLINKs Divided: The Great Shirt Debate! Since this rumor has spread around the internet, the dating rumors have exploded among K-pop fans. Of course, coming from two of K-pop's biggest groups, there is a big opinion divide among fans, with some in shock, disappointment, and sheer happiness and hope that these rumors are, in fact, true. Some fans are totally losing it, with comments like, "OMG, is this it?! My Jinsoo ship is SAILING!" It's so funny to see how a similar-looking shirt can send the entire fandom into detective mode. One user typed, "This is funny because Jin and Jisoo are wearing the same shirt, so now they are dating?" And honestly, some of the Dojeon team get it! We're always looking for connections, right? In contrast, some people are taking a different stance on these rumors with comments on social media like, "Hold up, people! Jisoo and Jin dating rumors in the big year 2025, knowing damn well they're best friends?" They're quick to point out that these shirts aren't  identical, just super similar in style. And yeah, they're probably right. It's totally a basic coincidence that gets blown out of proportion because it's our  idols! Final thoughts It's important to remember that neither Jin nor Jisoo, nor their companies have said anything official. So for now, it's just a fun (and sometimes chaotic) ride on the rumor train! But you can't deny, it's definitely kept things interesting! Of course, the Dojeon team thinks that this K-pop duo would make an absolutely adoring couple, and bring a powerhouse setup to the music industry, perhaps similar to Beyonce and Jay Z. • Why Are These Underrated K-Dramas Back on Netflix and Climbing the Charts Again?

Netflix viewers rediscover Underrated K-dramas on Netflix all of a sudden! Imagine catching a drama that ended years ago and suddenly seeing it rise back to the top of Netflix Korea’s Top 3. Does this sound unreal? It’s happening right now with several K-dramas making a stunning comeback on a global streaming platform. Here are the three dramas blazing back onto Netflix!  1. Delightfully Deceitful  (2023) Delightfully Deceitful (Credits: tvN) This revenge thriller went off-air in July 2023 and seemed to disappear… until July 25, 2025, when it shot into Netflix Korea’s Top 3. Starring Chun Woo-hee  and Kim Dong-wook , it follows a genius con artist, wrongfully imprisoned, who teams up with an empathetic lawyer to fight a corrupt institution through high-stakes deception. Fast-paced and twisty, it’s 16 episodes packed with emotional tension and intelligent plotting. 2. Reflection of You  (2021) Reflection of You (Credits: JTBC) First aired on JTBC in late 2021. It tells the story of a successful painter whose life unravels when she reconnects with a former art student turned complex antagonist. Leads Go Hyun-jung  ( Mask Girl , 2023) and Shin Hyun‑been  bring gritty, heartbreaking performances to a drama layered in regret, betrayal, and revenge. Though slow-burning and polarizing at release, it has since gathered a cult following on Netflix. 3. Nothing Uncovered  (2024) Nothing Uncovered (Credits: SBS) A 2024 mystery-romance-thriller starring Kim Ha‑neul , Yeon Woo-jin ( A Virtuous Business , 2024), and Jang Seung‑jo ( The Frog , 2024). The series revolves around a reporter suspected of a murder case who digs into the truth while navigating tangled relationships with a detective and a novelist husband. Despite modest initial ratings, its psychological intrigue and strong performances have earned it renewed interest on streaming platforms.  So Why Are They Returning to Netflix Now? If a drama returns to Netflix, whether it aired last year or five years ago, it often means: a) Streaming Algorithm + Viral Buzz When fans start posting clips and thread discussions, Netflix’s recommendation engine notices. Delightfully Deceitful  went viral on TikTok and Instagram, and Netflix’s algorithm rewarded it swiftly. Fans rediscovered and shared episodes, triggering the drama’s Top 3 surge. b) Licensing Cycles & New Regional Rollouts These dramas aren’t permanent fixtures. Netflix re-negotiates streaming rights regularly. Some titles only roll out internationally after a hiatus or return after rights renewals. c) Perfect Format for Binge-Watchers All three dramas offer a concise 16-episode arc with high emotional stakes, and that binge-friendly rhythm attracts new viewers quickly. Delightfully Deceitful  fits modern viewing habits: short, sharp, thrilling. d) Actor Popularity & Relevance Actors like Kim Dong-wook or Kim Jae Young might have gained attention from more recent projects. Fans then revisit their earlier shows, compounding streaming views. Kim Jae Young as the lead role in K-drama Reflection of You (Credits: JTBC) Viewer Reactions & Online Buzz Reddit threads buzz about Reflection of You ’s emotional impact: “an emergency therapy session needed” because fans found it intense and unforgettable. Many viewers praised Reflection of You  for its strong acting and unpredictable twists. Despite criticism for slow pacing, its cast's performances remained a standout. What This Trend Shows Netflix is proving that drama doesn’t expire; quality content can reemerge anytime. These shows teach an important lesson: ratings on broadcast don’t define a drama’s worth. S streaming platforms give them second chances, and fans reward them. Join the Conversation! Were you surprised to find Delightfully Deceitful  on Netflix’s Top 3 two years after it aired? • BLACKPINK's "Jump" Marks a Striking Departure from Their Signature Style

BLACKPINK's style in their music videos is famous for their consistent and fun formula of high-end sets, vibrant costumes, and glamorous camera-angled shots, which all play a part in the high-energy and hype experience when it comes to their music, as it creatively tells the story. Let's deep dive into their latest single, "Jump"! Image : JUMP - Rosé, Lisa, Jisoo, and Jennie kicked off their tour with a new song and music video.  jacarandafm.com BLACKPINK's style has been very successful, and it has led them to where they are today as musicians; however, with their latest high-energy single, "Jump", their reunion single showcases a surprising and significant departure from this established pattern! Let's take a look! Uncanny and Creative Visual Departure "Jump" opens with the five individual billboards, each introducing a member and the director of the video, Dave Myers . Before the official reveal of Lisa , Rosé , Jisoo , and Jennie in what can almost be described as camouflaged in front of the group billboard. The video then dives into the first verse, which shows the group being adored and celebrated by a very enthusiastic crowd, before turning quickly into an unfamiliar territory as the members are shown dancing in the crowd's mouth, between their heads, and even inside their ears. Yes, you did just read that right. This goes to show the fun, creative, and groundbreaking concepts that BLACKPINK are still striving to deliver. "Jump": BLACKPINK in Your Area and On the Dance Floor The first verse of "Jump" immediately asserts BLACKPINK's confident swagger with lines like "Bet you’re getting it now / Rock that DDU-DU DDU-DU now"  and "I walk it, yeah, I talk it / So come up with me, I’ll take you high."  The pre-chorus, "Watch me running up the place / I’m already starting and my girls are on the way,"  reinforces this dominant, take-charge attitude, but does it have a particular meaning? The second verse shifts to themes of sisterhood and liberation  on the dance floor: "I’m with all of my sisters, got ‘em going insane... Breaking out of the system, breaking out of this cage, yeah."  This could be viewed as the girls are back for this reunion, and going back to the top of the K-pop charts and re-taking their much-deserved reign. The repeated chorus then expands on women dancing and "jumping" their feelings out. The song famously concludes with BLACKPINK's signature phrase, “In your area, area.” Which screams everything BLACKPINK, we are sure as soon as you hear this, it will bring back special memories from the girls older music. BLACKPINK's "Jump": A Playful Summer Anthem Staying True to Form (Mostly) "Jump"   largely adheres to BLACKPINK's signature style: empowerment-lite lyrics, a powerful beat, and simple yet memorable melodies. Unlike the less impactful "Pink Venom" , it leans towards the infectious appeal of tracks like "Shut Down"   or "Lovesick Girl s" . While it features the "empty chorus", a -boosted production and strong vocal performances in the verses and pre-choruses help it out. Similar to "Shut Down", there's an appealing cheeky quality – potentially due to a classical sample in the former and a slight country twang in "Jump". This showcases BLACKPINK with a playful energy, almost as if they're winking at their own immense fame. We also think that it is about time for a new summer club anthem, and the girls have definitely delivered on that. Final thoughts This long awaited comeback by the queens of K-pop BLACKPINK has been nothing but powerful. BLINKS all around the world are raving about it, and that explains the 61 million views that it has got in just four days! Do we really need to wonder if that number will grow? It's practically guaranteed to explode exponentially  in the coming days, weeks, and months, isn't it? What are your thoughts on "JUMP"? We would love to hear in the comments below! #BLACKPINK_JUMP #JUMPComeback #BLACKPINK #BLINKS #KPOP #NewMusic

His passion for the sport combined with Park's legendary status is generating massive excitement about the team, their move and the backing behind them. Industry insiders are already buzzing about the marketing, content, and fan engagement synergies this investment in the MLB underdog will create. There's also growing speculation that the Athletics might start scouting Korean talent, which would be an incredible way to further build their fan base right here in Korea. This could truly open doors for more Korean players to shine on the MLB stage! With Korean baseball’s growing popularity and BTS’s worldwide influence, the part nership could help the franchise reach new audiences while honring the sport’s international connections. It is no secret that Suga is a fan of the Korean baseball team Samsung Lions . What do you think of Suga's latest move? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! #SugaMLBInvestor #ChanHoPark #KpopBaseballHistory #AthleticsNewEra #GlobalSportsImpact #FirstKpopMLB

  • Euphoria in Every Drop: Celebrating Jungkook’s Birthday with a Life-Giving Tradition

“You are the cause of my euphoria.” …and this August, that Euphoria comes in the form of blood bags, compassion, and community love. Join the Dojeon Media team, the Filipino ARMY, and the Philippine Red Cross, as we continue our annual life-saving tradition in the name of BTS! 2025 Blood Letting poster. (Credits: BFM Jungkookies) As Golden Maknae Jeon Jungkook of BTS turns a year older, Filipino ARMYs are once again proving that purple blood runs deep— and it gives, too. Marking its fourth year, the annual blood-letting drive organized by BFM Jungkookies (an OT7 Jungkook-biased PH ARMYs) is back with the same mission: save lives, one drop at a time. Four Years, Countless Lives Back in 2022, what started as a humble effort born from pandemic urgency collected around 80 bags of blood— a number that doubled the following year to 169, proving that ARMYs don’t just stream songs— they show up. 2025 Blood Letting poster. (Credits: BFM Jungkookies) In 2024, despite the long weekend (and some chaotic vacation plans), the event still pulled in 143 generous donations. 2024 Blood Letting event (Credits: BFM Jungkookies) As if that wasn’t enough to make our hearts swell like Jungkook hitting a high note, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) awarded this purple-blooded initiative with a Diploma of Service last July 2024. This recognition is granted to partners who’ve donated an accumulated 200 bags of blood— and yep, we hit that milestone thanks to your steady, loving pulse. More Than Just a Celebration 2024 Blood Letting event (Credits: BFM Jungkookies) This year’s theme, “Euphoria in Every Drop" , echoes the joyful giving spirit that ARMYs carry— because what better way to celebrate Jungkook than by honoring the life-loving, heart-first values he (and BTS) live by? After all, this is the guy who co-wrote ‘My You’ and made us all cry over every lyric. Of course, we'd bleed purple for him. Inspired by Jungkook’s quiet generosity and BTS's legacy of kindness, the blood drive doesn’t just celebrate a birthday— it saves lives. In 2024 alone, just days after the event, three patients received blood from this very drive. That's three families given a little more time, a little more hope— all because YOU showed up. United by Heart, Fueled by Kindness 2024 Blood Letting event (Credits: BFM Jungkookies) This event is led by the ever-growing family of Borahae From Manila (BFM) members and volunteers— yes, including our amazing doctor ARMYs, nurses, med students, and even a few non-medical members who just wanted to help out because that’s what Jungkook would do. The group continues to grow, echoing the message that fandom doesn’t end at stanning— it extends to service. And if Jungkook taught us anything, it’s that it’s cool to be kind, strong to be soft, and powerful to care. So, what’s next for “Euphoria in Every Drop”? Simple: more blood, more love, and more ARMYs stepping forward with rolled-up sleeves, hearts full of purpose, and playlists blasting ‘Still With You’ as they save lives. Because we don’t just stream. We serve. Want to Join? 2024 Blood Letting event (Credits: BFM Jungkookies) Whether you’re Jungkook-biased, OT7, or simply someone who believes in doing good, you’re welcome to take part— because sometimes, YOU are the real key to someone’s YOU-phoria, whether you're an ARMY or just someone with a kind heart and a generous vein. ✨ Sign up today: https://bit.ly/blooddonationform2025 Let’s make 2025 another year of life, love, and Euphoria. 〜 Happy birthday, Jungkook. You inspire a nation of dreamers and doers— and we’ll keep giving, loving, and living with you, one blood bag at a time.

  • K-Drama "The Defects" Is Giving "The Glory" Vibes — But With a Twist!

The Defects (Credits: ENA) K-drama fans who loved The Glory  or Mask Girl should watch The Defects . This new revenge thriller doesn’t just talk about bullying . It dives into a horrifying system where children are bought, judged , and sometimes even “returned” if considered unworthy. Yes, you read that right. This drama goes deeper than schoolyard cruelty . It exposes a disturbing world of illegal adoptions and deadly secrets. The Defects (Credits: ENA) A Twisted System That Sends Chills Unlike The Glory , where the villain was a school bully, The Defects  explores something even scarier: adults and society acting as monsters. Kids are raised as products, and if they don’t fit the ideal mold, they’re "refunded" or eliminated. This shocking concept adds layers of psychological trauma, making the drama much darker than expected. A New Kind of Heroine Actress Won Jin-ah  ( Hellbound , 2021) plays the lead, a woman who survived this horrifying system. She teams up with other "returned" children to fight back. Together, they go up against the cold and calculating doctor, Kim Se-hee ( Yum Jung-ah , SKY Castle , 2018-2019), who runs the child trafficking ring. This isn’t just a personal revenge story. It’s a war for justice. The Defects (Credits: ENA) Based on a Popular Webtoon The drama is adapted from the webtoon Child Shopping , which already has a loyal fanbase. That means the story comes with depth, emotional tension, and a clear direction. Webtoon fans are excited to see the intense scenes brought to life on screen. Strong Creative Team Behind the Drama The Defects  is directed by Oh Ki-hwan, known for Love Virtually  in the SF8  series. The script is written by Ahn So-jung, who builds tension with every episode. The pacing is tight, and the characters are complex. Viewers say the drama feels raw, real, and terrifyingly possible. The Defects (Credits: ENA) How It Compares to The Glory The Glory  showed one woman’s revenge. The Defects  features a team of survivors fighting an entire system. It isn’t just about bullying—it’s about how society itself can be cruel. There’s no glamorization. Every scene is gritty and powerful. If you thought The Glory  was dark, wait until you see what The Defects  brings to the table. When and Where to Watch The Defects premiered on July 21  on ENA , airing Mondays and Tuesdays . You can also stream it globally with subtitles on KOCOWA+. Fans are already calling it one of the most intense dramas of 2025 . Are You Ready for the Darkest K-Drama of the Year? • August 2025 in South Korea: Your Guide to Weather & Unforgettable Festivals and Beyond!

Image: Child playing in the water fountains in Seoul - Photo by ANTHONY WALLACE / Agence France-Presse) August Weather: Hot but Hopeful! The floods of the monsoon rains have usually past by this time, and August in Korea showcases what can only be described as blistering hot weather! That said, during 2025 Malbok (말복), the last of the three "dog days of summer," falls on August 9th. From this day forward, you can expect the weather across South Korea to become progressively more comfortable, offering some welcome relief from the intense summer heat. Temperatures however have day time highs of around 29 (84 Fahrenheit) degrees, with night time temperatures usually settling at around 22 (72 Fahrenheit) degrees. However, the humidity is another level, and throughout August you won't want to stray too far from air conditioning. Your Ultimate Fun-in-the-Sun Packing Guide This is something that the Dojeon team often get asked from our readers. What should I pack to visit Korea? Image: Packing to visit Korea - Photo: Pintrest If you really want to experience Korea like a local this August, as well as staying cool while you explore, then packing is key! Here's your must-have checklist to conquer the heat in style! Feather-Light & Fabulous Clothing:  Ditch the heavy stuff! We're talking flowy fabrics, moisture-wicking wonders, and anything that lets your skin breathe. Think linen shirts, breezy dresses, and athletic wear that keeps you cool as you hop from temple to trendy café, which are both plentiful throughout Korea! Sunscreen:  This is non-negotiable! Protect that precious skin from the powerful Korean sun. Pro tip: Once you land, make a beeline for Olive Young – they have an incredible selection of innovative Korean sunscreens that are lightweight and feel amazing! Shades & Style Savers:  A chic pair of sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat aren't just fashion statements; they're your best friends against the glare. Look cool, stay cool! Mosquito Repellent:  Those little buzzing villains can be a nuisance! Pack your favorite repellent to keep them at bay. Don't sweat it if you forget; you can easily grab effective sprays and patches at local Daiso or Olive Young stores. Your Personal Breeze Machine (aka Portable Fan):  Trust us on this one – every local has one, and you'll quickly see why! These little gadgets are absolute lifesavers for instant relief. Embrace the practicality; you'll blend right in! Hydration Hero (Reusable Water Bottle):  Exploring under the summer sun means staying hydrated. Fill up your reusable bottle often and keep that refreshing H2O close at hand! Rain-Ready Gear:  While the heavy monsoon rains usually pass, sudden summer showers can still pop up. A lightweight rain jacket or a compact umbrella will keep you dry and ready to continue your adventures, come rain or shine! Banpo Bridge light show Image: Banpo Bridge Seoul - Photo: Lewis Hooper If you have not checked this show out on YouTube, then do it now! This show is spectacular, and you will be able to enjoy a whopping 380 rainbow colored jets which set the water alight, while enjoying a local experience along the famous Han River , and listening to synchronized K-pop music. Not enough? Well, this show has even been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s longest bridge fountain. Here are the show times, and it lasts for 20 minutes: July & August weekdays: 7:30 pm, 8:00 pm, 8:30 pm, 9:00 pm July & August weekends: 7:30 pm, 8:00 pm, 8:30 pm, 9:00 pm, 9:30 pm Go to a baseball game We have previously written about how much Koreans love baseball, and watching a baseball game in Korea is like no other experience. Here, the fans go wild, and instead of the laid-back energy that you may be used to from Koreans, be prepared for that mindset to change. Samsung Lions, Daegu - Photo: Lewis Hooper Most people choose to stand the entire time, and everyone participates in singing and cheering for their team. There is even a hype team for each team, including a centre hype man and dancers. While you’re there, don’t forget to try the iconic stadium food, including the beer and chicken cup. This ingenious invention includes a cup of beer at the base and a circular food holder for fried chicken and fries around the straw. Baseball season in Korea runs from April to October. You can buy Korean baseball tickets from  Interpark  or specific team websites. You can also buy tickets at the stadium before the game, which I recommend if you don’t speak any Korean. Just be sure to show up early to make sure they aren’t sold out. Make sure you're insured everywhere you go! Visit SafteyWing  for more details on how you can protect yourself and your loved ones whenever you travel! (Click the photo for your discounted plan!)
