- BTS Global Impact Lifts HYBE to $468 Million First Quarter Milestone
HYBE is off to a strong start this year, pulling in a big revenue jump thanks to BTS returning to the spotlight. The company reported first-quarter revenue of 698.3 billion won, about $468 million, marking its best-ever Q1 performance. The surge was largely driven by BTS-related activity and steady growth across HYBE’s artist roster, according to Koreatimes. BTS (BigHit music) Even with the revenue spike, profits took a hit. HYBE posted an operating loss of 196.6 billion won, compared to a 21.6 billion won profit a year earlier. The company also missed market expectations, which had projected a profit for the quarter. HYBE said the loss was mainly due to a one-time accounting expense of about 255 billion won tied to employee stock-based compensation. The charge came after chairman Bang Si-hyuk awarded shares from his personal holdings as staff incentives. The company noted this was a non-cash cost, so it did not affect cash flow. Without that one-off item, HYBE said its adjusted operating profit would have been 58.5 billion won, showing underlying strength in its core business. BTS (Getty Images, Tenasia) A major driver of growth came from direct artist activity, including albums, music, concerts, and advertising, which rose 25.2 per cent to 403.7 billion won. Album and music sales nearly doubled to 271.5 billion won, powered heavily by BTS's fifth studio album ARIRANG. Get ARIRANG today! The album made a massive impact at launch, selling nearly 4 million copies on its first day. It also recorded 208,000 first-week sales in the United States, the highest weekly figure for any group since tracking began in 1991. Other HYBE acts, including ENHYPEN, KATSEYE, and CORTIS, also helped drive results. KATSEYE performing at Coachella 2026 (Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Coachella) Revenue from indirect artist activities such as merchandise, licensing, fan memberships, and content rose 65.5 per cent to 294.7 billion won, supported by strong tour-related sales and presales for BTS's ongoing world tour. Looking ahead, HYBE expects stronger performance in the next quarter, with new releases from TOMORROW X TOGETHER, TWS, and ILLIT, as well as continued impact from the BTS touring schedule. CEO Lee Jae-sang said BTS continues to show global pull, pointing to sold-out stadium shows with more than 50,000 seats and strong turnout across North America, Europe, and Asia. #HYBE #BTS #BTSComeback #Kpop #KpopNews #MusicIndustry #EntertainmentNews #ARIRANG #Billboard200 #Hot100 #ENHYPEN #KATSEYE #CORTIS #TOMORROW_X_TOGETHER #TWS #ILLIT #BangSiHyuk #LeeJaeSang #KpopGlobal #BTSWorldTour #HYBEReports #QuarterlyEarnings

- Korean Media Reports BTS Suga Can Do Military Service As A Civil Servant
#bts #suga #military #service Several South Korean portals reported on Tuesday December 13, that BTS Suga could complete his military service as a civil servant. The rapper is the second oldest member of BTS and is set to join next year. Suga was born in 1993 and will be 30 years old in March 2023. Jin, the oldest member of BTS , just turned 30 years old and officially started his military service on Tuesday December 13. In 2019, the star was diagnosed with "left shoulder posterior labial tear" , which means that his cartilage around his left shoulder joint was torn. The increase in pain and the inability to perform some movements led the idol to decide to undergo surgery to improve his quality of life and take care of his health. Through a message to fans in 2020 via WeVerse, Suga said: “Since performing is part of my job, I tried to avoid surgery as much as I could and endured with rehabilitation and injections. However, I was scared because it got worse and worse every time I performed.” According to the Edaily report, military authorities used Suga's shoulder surgery in 2020 as a justification. In some cases, depending on the complexity of the surgery and the severity of the injury, recruits may be discharged from full military service. Despite this, the agency reported, “ Even if they are assigned to public service, conscripts can go on active duty if they wish to serve in that way .” Big Hit Music said in response to the news, " BTS members will do their military service according to their own plans. It is difficult to confirm the artist's personal information." Among terms of work, civil servants have the longest years of work. Active duty soldiers serve 18 months, while soldiers assigned to government offices must complete 24 months of service. And what do you think about the enlistment of BTS members ? Do you think they returned as a full group in 2025? Let us know what you think about it in the comments! Source: KoreaIN, Recreio

- The Real Rosé: Toxic Love, Healing, and Self-Acceptance
Blackpink's Rosé opens up about heartbreak , toxic love , and finding herself , showing us that even the brightest stars have their darkest moments. Read on to find out more! Rosé , the talented singer from BLACKPINK , has always amazed us with her voice and performance. But behind the bright lights and fame, her journey has been filled with struggles. In her new solo album Rosie , she opens up about her past, her emotions, and how she learned to heal from a toxic relationship , and that's what she shared with the PAPER magazine . Her story is real and something everyone can relate to. But what happened? 1) A Relationship That Hurt Rosé describes her 20s as a confusing and vulnerable time. Like many people, she had a toxic relationship with ups and downs, misunderstandings, and pain. She admits she didn’t notice the red flags and ended up hurt. She says, "Your 20s are not an easy time," and this relationship was part of her struggle. Through her music, Rosé expresses the emotional scars from that time. She sings about wanting love, feeling enough, and dealing with loneliness and doubt, things many people can relate to, whether in relationships or life. 2) The Strength to Be Honest One of the most powerful things about Rosé 's album Rosie is how she embraces her vulnerability. Instead of hiding her struggles, she chose to be honest. "I wanted to sing about being vulnerable and confused," she says. For Rosé, it was important for people to see her as just another young woman trying to figure out life. In a world where stars are expected to be perfect, Rosé ’s openness about her pain makes her more relatable. She shows that it’s okay not to have everything figured out and okay to admit when things are tough. 3) The Pressure of Social Media In her album, Rosé also talks about the pressure of living in the digital world. With millions of followers, she feels the weight of constant judgment. She admits that sometimes she reads comments late at night and gets hurt by what people say. "Every word, every comment, it crushes me," she shares. Many people can relate to this feeling. The need for approval , especially online, can make us feel small and insecure. Rosé’s song about this experience speaks to anyone who has ever felt judged or misunderstood on the internet. 4) Learning to Be Herself While making Rosie , Rosé spent long hours in the studio, which made her feel disconnected from herself. Over time, she realized she needed balance and to take care of herself. She stopped going to public events and focused on being herself. "I pulled back from attending public events. I wanted to access the ' Rosie ' inside me, not the ' Rosé ' people see," she explains. This period of self-reflection helped her grow and understand that she didn’t need to be perfect. She learned that flaws and mistakes are part of what makes her real. 5) A Message of Hope Rosie is not just about pain, it’s also about healing and finding strength. Rosé has learned from her past and now wants to help others who feel the same. "At the end of the day, I want people to understand me," she says. By sharing her story, she hopes others will feel less alone in their struggles. Rosé ’s journey shows that even in tough times, we can grow, learn, and heal. Her music reminds us that we don’t need to be perfect, we just need to be ourselves .
