September 2026 is bringing another fresh lineup of Korean dramas, with major stars returning to the small screen and several very different stories arriving across Netflix, Disney+, TVING, and Korean television.


This month's lineup includes everything from a political thriller and an unusual office comedy to a realistic romance about a couple who have been together for a decade. Son Ye-jin will also return with the highly anticipated historical romance The Scandal, while Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung are back for the second and final season of Made in Korea.

However, his old enemy Jang Geon-young (Jung Woo-sung) has not forgotten their past conflict and continues preparing to bring him down. Baek Ki-hyun (Woo Do-hwan), Ki-tae's younger brother, also follows his own path towards power, adding another layer to the conflict.


The second season follows these three characters as their ambitions and personal interests collide once again. Their struggle unfolds against a period of political change, with old rivalries returning and new battles beginning.

Gong Eun-tae is the head of Sales Team 5 at Hongseong International. He has spent years working hard because he wants a stable and ordinary life, but eventually becomes frustrated after realizing that all his effort may only lead to a repetitive future.


His situation changes when he wins the lottery jackpot. However, the 1.3 billion won prize is not quite enough to completely transform his life, so Eun-tae decides to continue working. His colleagues Yang Jun-ho (Seo Hyun-woo) and Jung Seon-hyuk (Oh Dae-hwan) remain part of his everyday office life, but winning the lottery gradually changes the way he looks at his work and his own future.





3. A Love Other Than Yours

A Love Other Than Yours follows a couple whose relationship has reached a difficult point after spending 10 years together. Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin take the lead roles in this romance drama, which focuses on what happens when a relationship that once felt passionate becomes filled with familiarity, trust, and uncertainty.


Namgung Ho (Seo Kang-joon) works as an assistant manager on the TF team at Hunmin Confectionery. He is friendly and easily gets along with people, but his seemingly comfortable life hides difficulties caused by his troubled mother. Throughout those difficult periods, his longtime girlfriend Lee Mi-do (Ahn Eun-jin) has remained by his side.


Mi-do is a film director who was once considered a promising newcomer after receiving international attention for her university graduation film. However, the projects she wants to make repeatedly fall apart, leaving her career at a low point. Meanwhile, her relationship with Ho has changed after 10 years together, and the couple begins facing the question of whether they should get married or separate.




4. The Scandal

The Scandal is one of September's biggest new K-dramas, particularly because it marks Son Ye-jin's return in a daring historical romance alongside Ji Chang-wook and Nana. Set in Joseon, the story centers on a dangerous game of seduction that begins among members of the upper class. Netflix has confirmed its global premiere for September 18.


Lady Cho (Son Ye-jin) is a talented and intelligent noblewoman who is frustrated by the restrictions placed on women in Joseon society. She proposes a dangerous temptation game to her admirer Jo Won (Ji Chang-wook), a handsome nobleman known for his romantic relationships and his lack of belief in lasting love.


Jo Won accepts the wager and approaches Hui Yeon (Nana), a young widow who has promised to remain faithful to her late husband. Although Hui Yeon initially tries to keep her distance, she gradually finds herself affected by Jo Won's attention. As the game continues, the feelings of the three characters begin to move beyond the rules they created.

Mission: Mompossible, or aka Mom's Crazy, brings a family story to September's lineup and is scheduled to premiere on KBS1 on September 21. The long-form drama follows two mothers whose ideas about family and life are completely different, eventually bringing their families into conflict when their children become connected.


One of the mothers has spent her life putting her family first and sacrificing her own needs for the people around her. The other has chosen a very different path, prioritising her own life and happiness rather than living entirely for her family.


Their contrasting views become even more complicated when their children become involved with each other. The story then follows the two families as their different values, expectations and personal conflicts begin to collide.
