Why Teach You a Lesson matters
During a time when Korean university admissions are fierce and high school bullying is still active in South Korea, South Korean top universities have rejected 45 applicants, and a total of 165 applicants across 10 state-run institutions have been rejected during the 2025-2026 admissions due to their history of violence.
The "6th Grade" Rule
Universities track a 1-9 bullying scale, and a "grade 6" or higher incident (which includes physical harm and significant school violence) usually results in a rejection, even if the student has perfect grades.
Starting in 2026, all colleges nationwide are required to evaluate school violence records, a measure implemented due to high public demand for accountability.
Important Information
Teach You a Lesson is scheduled to be released exclusively on Netflix on June 5, 2026. Stay tuned for more details!
Final Thoughts
Although Teach You a Lesson has some comedic elements, bullying in South Korea is no joke and is taken very seriously. It is amazing to see that this new K-drama specifically addresses the issue. There have been previous high school bullying dramas such as the Weak Hero Class series; hopefully this one won't go over the top. Leave us a comment on your thoughts on this new K-drama!
