The Christmas season is back, and it would not be complete without a trip to the Christmas market. If you are overwhelmed by all the events all over South Korea, don't worry, we've got you covered! We highlight the best events that'll pique your interest this Holiday Season!
With a different feel compared to European Christmas markets, Korea hosts it's very own version every year, with special stalls, shopping experiences and of course some warming and indulging foods for you to warm up with and enjoy! Let's check some of them out!
1. Lotte Premium Outlets in Paju
This year from November 11, 2024, Lotte Premium Outlets in Paju will host it's very own Christmas market.
In addition to the Paju and Uiwang Time Villa branches, Lotte Outlets is currently showcasing their Christmas decorations in Paju. You can also indulge your shopping habits in more than 250 luxury brands for a great price! What is not to love?!
Shinsegae Premium Outlets in Siheung
This destination has to be one of the best holiday spots to visit each year. Growing up I was obsessed with the Smurfs, and from November 1st each year there is a Smurf pop up forest. Now if I was back in my childhood I would without a doubt be there in a flash.
Shinsegae also displays a number of outstanding Christmas decorations and pop up stalls during their festive event, which makes room for some treats to find their way into your shopping bag!
The mall also consists of the eco-friendly Central Garden; Pet Park, where visitors can walk their pets; Sky Garden, where families and friends can enjoy a picnic; a futsal field open to visitors of all ages; and Taste Village that offers cuisines from all over the world!
Gwanghwamun Square in Central Seoul:
Every Friday evening in the center of Seoul, Gwanghwamun Square, you can find a beautiful Christmas tree, and neatly packed fireplaces and food stalls to warm yourself up during the cold winter month. In addition, you are also able to take photos to look back on, and there are some famous Instagram-able spots not to be missed!
Once the clock strikes 6 PM, the official opening time, the crowds gather in their droves and with many people dashing around it is one of the hottest events to attend in Koreas capital.
It is also said that this event attracts over 1.3 million visitors each year!
Paradise City in Incheon
All the way through until January 1st 2025, this Christmas market showcases a cozy and warm atmosphere at the resort complex. This event is also held indoors. and features a reminiscent of North European Santa clause village, and a large cottage with a red roof and a giant Christmas tree and more than twenty seven grand booths for you to immerse yourself in!
