As the lights dimmed, Wendy’s silhouette appeared against a soft glow before the stage lights revealed her in a stunning red dress. The 31-year-old opened the night with “Fireproof", “Hate^2", and “Queen of the Party", her crystalline vocals filling the theater as fans watched in awe. Between songs, Wendy chatted comfortably with the crowd, welcoming Chicago to her very first solo tour stop in the city.

After a moving performance of “Vermilion", the band played an instrumental interlude while Wendy slipped away for a quick outfit change. She returned in an elegant blue gown that perfectly complemented her next number, “Like Water". The set continued with “When This Rain Stops” and “Believe", followed by a series of her beloved K-drama OSTs, including “Goodbye” from The Beauty Inside. Before each song, Wendy shared stories about the dramas they were featured in, frequently mentioning where fans could stream them. Her repeated plugs for Netflix drew playful laughter from the audience, especially since her OSTs from Touch My Heart and Start-Up are currently available on the platform.

As the evening drew toward its finale, Wendy reflected on her excitement for this new chapter in her career, thanking all the ReVeluvs (Red Velvet fans) for their support. The crowd erupted when she performed Red Velvet’s "Light Me Up", with fans waving their light sticks high in tribute.

Before closing the night, Wendy invited the audience to learn some English lyrics from her songs “Wish You Hell” and “Sunkiss", encouraging everyone to sing along. When the chorus hit, the theater echoed with fans’ voices, their energy matching Wendy’s radiant joy.

As the final notes faded, Wendy announced the concert’s end, prompting bittersweet reactions from the crowd. But moments later, chants of “Wendy! Wendy!” and “Encore! Encore!” filled the room. A pre-recorded message from the singer played through the speakers, and she soon reappeared to perform her encore songs  “Best Friend", “The Road", and “Existential Crisis". She closed the night by promising to release new music soon and to return to Chicago in the near future.

Wendy’s Chicago performance was nothing short of captivating. Her breathtaking vocals, genuine stage presence, and warm connection with fans created a night that was both intimate and unforgettable.
