  • BTS: A Chinese Woman Faces Possible Indictment for Trespassing on a Member’s Home

The shocking reason why a Chinese woman broke into Jungkook's home! Read on to find out more details! Image: BTS star Jungkook - Photo: Getty Images In a recent twist, a Chinese national is on the brink of being indicted for an act that has sent a great cause of concern through the ARMY fandom and K-idol circle. The Chinese national allegedly broke into the home of BTS member Junkook 's r esidential home. For now, the exact details of the incident are still unfolding; however the gravity of the situation is very clear. This alleged invasion of privacy has brought a chilling reality to light, underscoring the relentless pressures and security challenges that global superstars like BTS members face. The legal system now awaits, poised to decide her fate as the world watches. What Dojeon Media knows about the Incident at Jungkook's Apartment Back in June of this year, around 11:20pm KST, a Chinese women in her 30s was seen attempting to enter BTS member Jungkook's apartment in Seoul. At the time, the police stated in a public press release that the women was seen punching in random numbers on the combination keypad outside of his door. It was revealed later on, that the Chinese national had admitted that she had flown to South Korea specifically to see the singer. This was just days after the star was released from completing his mandatory military service , though sadly an event that has caused a lot of security concerns for the band members around their potential comeback to the public eye. The Chinese women was arrested on the grounds of trespassing. The incident has brought attention to the ongoing issues of privacy and security that BTS members face. It is also highlighted that this is not the first instance of obsessive fans, known as " sasaengs ", attempting to access Jungkook's private residence, which should not have happened, and with the level of the stars fame, security should have been much tighter. Adding to the recent news, a separate and new incident of a woman, this time a South Korean woman in her 40s, was arrested on August 31, 2025, for trespassing into the underground parking lot of Jungkook's building. The two events are distinct but contribute to a larger conversation about the persistent security threats faced by the artist. Is it time for him to move into a more secure unit? Or should he invest more in personal security? What are your thoughts on this recent K-pop scandal? We would love to hear from you in the comments below! #BTS #Kpop #ARMY #Trespassing #Koreannews #Privacy

  • Son Tops Messi: Historic Jersey Sales Mark LAFC Debut!

The new King of Merch? Son Heung-min's Shocking Los Angeles Football Club debut overtakes Lionel Messi's jersey empire. We have all the details on this historic sports moment! Image: Son Heung Min - Photo: Gettyimageskorea OSEN The Korean football legend Son Heung-min has become the first Asian player ever to score 100 Premier League goals , and in addition, he has also become the first Korean player to outsell the legendary football player Messi in jersey sales since signing with LAFC. So what's the latest? In a very historic move for South Korea, one of their national hero's Son Heung Min has now signed with LAFC, and within just weeks of transitioning over, he has set a new record for jersey sales surpassing global football players like Lionel Messi and Ronaldo. This monumental achievement underscores Son's immense influence and status as a cultural icon, bringing immense pride to his home country and electrifying the Korean diaspora in Los Angeles. His move is more than just a sports transfer; it's a powerful statement of South Korea's rising presence in the global sports arena, with Son leading the charge as a true ambassador for his nation. He is currently the number one football player in the world. In fact, after Son Heung Min's arrival, the price of LAFC home tickets skyrocketed over five times. Tickets for the match against San Diego soared from $300 (400,000 won) to $1,500 (210,000 won). This is also something new for American Soccer, as until now the US has not really been a big soccer country compared to Europe, this was even after British footballer David Beckham signed with a US team back in 2011. It has also come to light that for every jersey sold, about 30% of the net profit goes to the club and sponsors, leading to calculations that suggest Son Heung-min's first-month sales could generate approximately $120 million (168 billion won) in revenue per quarter. There are also discussions about the potential to surpass broadcast rights revenue, going beyond merely acquiring a star, and simply one that any soccer team in the world would love to have. So what does this mean for Korean-Americans? Since Koreans are very patriotic, this helps them become the perfect dedicated fan. This new move to LAFC by Son, is a massive cultural moment for Korean-Americans, both at home and abroad, more so for those residing in Los Angeles. In-fact, LA is home to the largest Korean population outside of Korea. For many Koreans, watching Son on a global stage, brings pride and comfort to Korean-Americans, who at times look at his success and accomplishments as a testament of their own heritage and hard work as a country. Considering fifty years ago, Korea was a very poor country, fast forward to 2025, Korea is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. Son's record-breaking jersey sales and international fame put the spotlight on the Korean community in a positive way. He is one of the most famous Koreans in the world, and his decision to join an American team validates and celebrates the Korean diaspora. It's a powerful form of representation that goes beyond entertainment, as it showcases Korean culture and identity. His presence has energized the local Korean-American community. Fans of all ages, from first-generation immigrants to those born and raised in America, are coming together to celebrate him. Local businesses in Koreatown have embraced his arrival with murals and special events, and the LAFC's Korean supporters' group, Tigers SG, has seen a huge surge in membership and enthusiasm, so could his arrival help to strengthen cultural gaps? The Rise of South Korea's sports stars Of course, Son is not the only Korean athlete in the US. Major League Baseball players like Ha Seong Kim , Jung Hoo Lee , and Hyeseog Kim are also creating a powerful new narrative alongside Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani . Their success is a huge source of pride for Korean fans, with each player bringing a unique talent to the league. Kim's Gold Glove, Lee's quick rise to fame, and Hyeseog's move to the Dodgers alongside Ohtani are all a testament to the talent from the KBO and a major win for Korean representation in the sport. So with so many Korean athletes breaking into the US and international sports world, and with so many Korean-Americans both at home and overseas, could this help cement Koreas soft power efforts in the US, and see closer ties between the two countries moving forward? What are your thoughts on what this move could mean for so many Korean-Americans worldwide? Why do you think Son has become so successful? Let us know in the comments below! • 5 Things We Love About Netflix K-Drama “Aema” Starring Lee Hanee and Bang Hyo-rin

Netflix’s Aema (Credits: Netflix) Netflix’s Aema  is one of the most talked-about K-dramas of 2025, and for good reason. Set against the backdrop of 1980s Korean cinema, it’s bold, witty, and packed with drama both on and off the screen. With a gripping story inspired by the legendary film Madame Aema , this series balances humor, rivalry, and social commentary in a way that keeps audiences hooked. Let’s look at five reasons why Aema  has quickly become a must-watch! 1. Step Into the Wild World of 1980s Chungmuro Aema  takes us back to the bustling film district of Chungmuro, Seoul, during the 1980s, when Korean cinema was going through its most daring transformation. The drama captures the flashy lights, chaotic sets, and intense competition of that time, all while weaving in the creation of Madame Aema —the series that shook the nation.   Aema (Credits: Netflix) 2. From Rivals to Unlikely Allies The heart of the story lies in the bittersweet relationship between veteran star Jung Hee-ran (played by Lee Hanee ) and ambitious rookie actress Shin Joo-ae (played by newcomer Bang Hyo-rin ). At first, their fiery rivalry sparks tension and drama, but as the series progresses, their battles turn into solidarity. Watching their relationship evolve is one of the most satisfying elements of the show.   Aema (Credits: Netflix) 3. Performances That Steal the Spotlight The cast is nothing short of stellar. Lee Hanee shines as the outspoken Jung Hee-ran, while rookie actress Bang Hyo-rin makes a striking impression as Shin Joo-ae. Supporting actors Jin Sun-kyu ( Uprising , 2024) and Cho Hyun-chul ( Bogota: City of the Lost , 2024) add depth to the narrative with their commanding presence. Behind it all, director Lee Hae-young—known for films like Believer —brings his signature bold style to the small screen for the very first time. 4. Laughter With a Sharp Edge While Aema  delivers plenty of laughs with its witty dialogue and satirical moments, it also cuts deep with its social commentary. The show doesn’t shy away from addressing the exploitation of actresses, gender inequality, and the struggles women faced in the entertainment industry. This blend of humor and hard truths gives Aema  its unique edge. 5. More Than a Drama, It’s Cultural History What makes Aema  stand out is its cultural resonance. Inspired by Madame Aema , Korea’s first erotic film, the drama reflects on a time when society was changing rapidly under the government’s “3S Policy” of Screen, Sex, and Sports. It’s more than just a period piece; it’s a story of resilience, ambition, and the fight for women’s voices to be heard.   Aema (Credits: Netflix) Quick Facts About Aema Main Cast:  Lee Hanee, Bang Hyo-rin, Jin Seon-kyu, Cho Hyun-chul Episodes:  6 (47–68 minutes each) Genre:  Historical comedy-drama Director:  Lee Hae-young Release Date:  August 22, 2025 Where to Watch:  Streaming globally on Netflix Final Thoughts With its bold storytelling, unforgettable characters, and clever blend of humor and critique, Aema  is more than just a K-drama—it’s an experience. • Are Koreans Racist? MBC Drama Teaser Vanishes After Backlash Over Offensive Middle Eastern Stereotypes

SHOCK VIDEO: Removed!  An MBC drama teaser sparked global fury over insensitive Middle Eastern culture; did they think they would get away with it? We have all the details! Scenes from MBC’s now-deleted teaser for the upcoming drama To the Moon (Screen capture) In what was intended to be a humorous throwback, this recent clip has sparked backlash due to issues surrounding cultural appropriation . The MBC drama To the Moon has been slammed for allegedly mocking Middle Eastern cultures through the scenes pictured above. Its viral teaser, featuring stars like Lee Sun-bin and Ra Mi-ran , includes reductive and offensive imagery, such as Aladdin costumes, "genie lights", and flute music, that reduces Middle Eastern and South Asian culture to harmful, archaic stereotypes, sparking outrage across the globe, but is it really a big issue? So what is cultural appropriation? Cultural appropriation is using elements from other cultures, such as hairstyles, fashion, or dance, by K-pop artists, has been a point of contention. Debates have centered on where cultural appreciation crosses the line into appropriation, but we wonder: "Should it continue?" RACISM ROCKS K-DRAMA: GLOBAL FURY INTENSIFIES  Worldwide cultures are constantly being represented throughout various media channels; however, this time, mainly South Asian viewers expressed a strong sense of disappointment, and therefore, they have accused MBC of recycling harmful stereotypes for entertainment. Comments were scathing, from calling the teaser a "cheap Aladdin cosplay" that is "completely racist and ridiculous", to accusing the creators of a severe double standard: "They get offended when mistaken for Chinese or Japanese, but freely mock other cultures with stereotypes." MBC Caves into pressure MBC has since deleted the teaser and issued an apology. This is thanks to the overwhelming and global backlash from the teaser being offensive and controversial. The production crew issued a statement, weakly claiming they were only parodying 80s/90s ads but admitting, "we failed to consider how it might be perceived in other cultures." This forced compliance highlights the new stakes of the globalized K-drama industry. Because K-dramas are now instantly available worldwide, producers can no longer rely on purely local standards of humour. What a Korean audience might have found "humorous and nostalgic", international viewers immediately perceived as ridiculing and oversimplifying a culture, demonstrating why cultural awareness is now paramount in the production process. With K-culture becoming more mainstream, will Cultural Appropriation continue to be an issue? K-pop and K-dramas along with other aspects of K-culture, are becoming more popular world-wide, and as a result of the increased interest and visibility. This is more likely to cause Korean companies to research and target their products to become more culturally inclusive moving forward, as seen in the US and the UK, which are both culturally diverse countries. Future controversies will necessitate that Korean media actively invest in diverse, non-tokenized creative teams and adopt stringent cultural awareness guidelines to prevent damaging their global brand integrity and alienating the very international audiences that fuel their success. https://www.dojeonmedia.com/post/cultural-appropriation-why-is-it-so-common-in-korea-and-should-it-even-happen Let us know your thoughts on this culturally diverse topic in the comments below. #CulturalAppropriation #MBCBacklash #KoreanDrama #MiddleEastCulture #KPopRacism #Canceled

  • 6 Emotional K-Dramas Perfect for a Cathartic Cry

The official posters for Reply 1988 and When Life Gives You Tangerines (Images via IMDb). Everyone has a different definition of healing . For some, it’s laughing until their stomachs hurt and involuntary tears threaten to spill from their eyes. For others, it’s sitting in silence—meditating, soaking in the warmth of the sun, the chill of winter mornings, the rain-drenched evenings, or the gentle quiet of somber nights. And for many, healing means crying. Tears can be an emotional catharsis for the soul, and for the skincare enthusiasts, they even leave behind a natural glow and a soft blush across the face. That’s why we’ve rounded up six K-dramas that are perfect for a good cry—because once in a while, we all need to let it out. 1. When Life Gives You Tangerines  (2025) The official trailer for When Life Gives You Tangerines (Video via Netflix). Undoubtedly the best drama of the year so far, When Life Gives You Tangerines  fits the bill of a perfect K-drama: a talented cast, a compelling story, emotionally resonant world-building, and moments that not only tug at your heartstrings but will also leave you in tears (trust us, keep tissues handy). This is the kind of drama that makes you want to rush to your parents’ room in the middle of the night, curl up between them, and feel lucky to have them in your life—grateful for all the sacrifices they’ve made. 2. Pachinko  (2022) The official trailer for Pachinko (Video via Apple TV+) A sweeping saga chronicling the life of Sunja (played by Kim Min-ha and Youn Yuh-jung ) during the era of Japanese rule in Korea. Pachinko   is as much about Sunja’s journey—from her youth to her old age—as it is about a nation’s history of strength, grace, and resilience. It’s the kind of drama that lingers with you long after the final episode, moving you to tears at regular intervals and leaving you grateful for the life you live today, and for the sacrifices your ancestors and older generations made to give it to you. 3. Twenty-Five Twenty-One  (2022) The official trailer for Twenty-Five Twenty-One (Video via Netflix). Set in the vibrant backdrop of the 90s, Twenty-Five Twenty-One  is a mixtape of unforgettable firsts—youth, friendship, sports, first love, and first heartbreak—all woven into a heartfelt drama. It follows the story of five friends as they navigate high school dilemmas, peer pressure, big dreams, crushing heartbreaks, and love that once felt destined to last forever. The ending may have broken many hearts, but at Dojeon Media, we see it as a reminder that sometimes things don’t go the way we wish—and that’s okay. What matters are the beautiful memories that last a lifetime. Twenty-Five Twenty-One  is both cathartic and healing—a must-watch! 4. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha  (2021) The official trailer for Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (Video via Netflix). Sometimes catharsis comes in the form of a well-packaged rom-com. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha   is a sweet, heartwarming, and healing drama disguised as a fun, frothy romantic comedy, starring the effortlessly charming Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-ah . The story follows two complete opposites who clash from the very first moment they meet, but over time, they begin to see the emotional complexities and vulnerabilities in each other. As they fall in love, they also help one another heal. This drama is a gentle reminder that we should never judge a book by its cover—because we never truly know the battles someone else is fighting. 5. Moment at Eighteen (At Eighteen)  (2019) The official trailer for At Eighteen (Video via Iflix Malaysia). Eighteen is an age that’s both thrilling and terrifying. It’s the first step toward adulthood—leaving behind the comfort of childhood and the rebelliousness of the teenage years—to step into a world of responsibility, growth, and maturity. At Eighteen   beautifully captures this transitional phase, following a group of students as they navigate school life, explore their identities, form friendships, deal with grades and career pressures, experience crushes, and face the daunting reality of growing up. With a talented cast including Ong Seong-wu , Kim Hyang-gi , Shin Seung-ho , and the late Moonbin , At Eighteen  is relatable, cathartic, and deeply moving. And if the story doesn’t bring tears to your eyes, the OST certainly will. 6. • Top 10 Music K-Dramas Every K-Pop Fan Should Watch in 2025!

If there is a dream crossover that exists in the world of Korean culture fans, then it's a blend of K-drama and K-pop. The success of K-pop Demon Hunters is the most recent proof of that. Ever thought about how it feels to watch the real stories of K-pop idols or Korean soloists, simply the people who get inspired by Korean music every day? We have curated a list of the K-dramas that show the journey of musicians and music lovers. For K-pop fans, it's almost like getting a glimpse of their idols' lives. Don't miss out on these amazing K-drama OSTs! These stories are woven around not just one genre, from K-pop to Opera, bands to soloists, and simply the people who keep music alive in their lives every day. And it's not all dramas that are from the Gen Z era, some of them marked their place way back, and for the new watchers, about these can be even more impactful. For K-pop lovers, music is not just watching your idols sing and dance. It's the healing journey that comes from it, the inspiration that they get from idols, as dreaming high doesn't feel too ambitious for them, taking aspirations to the next level. Isn't that the whole point anyway? If you have read till here, we believe you're also a music lover, and these might be your dream recommendations. They inspire, make you emotional, some have revenge, and some are simply feel-good. It's indeed a roller coaster, and who doesn't love that? So let's begin finding your next wish list addition. Do You Like Brahms ? (2020) This one is a quiet masterpiece. Classical music meets youthful love, but don’t expect a light, bubbly rom-com. It’s slow, deliberate, and full of emotions that simmer under the surface more than they explode. If you like self-narrative, introspective dramas with close-up emotions and character depth, this is for you. But if you’re after a flashy plot or endless twists, it might feel underwhelming. Do You Like Brahms? official OST (1theK) We loved it. Park Eun-bin and Kim Min-jae deliver realistic portrayals of two introverts who struggle to communicate but strive to be open with each other. Their chemistry feels raw and real. The OST is on another level, carrying the weight of every emotion you feel while watching. It’s not just a drama about music, but about persistence, evolving dreams, and learning not to give up. Slow burn? Definitely. Is it worth it? Absolutely. The Liar and His Lover (2017) This is the kind of drama you watch when you want something sweet, comforting, and easy on the heart. Joy from Red Velvet brings charm to her role; it’s enjoyable in its simplicity. The characters face challenges, but instead of dragging things out in heavy melodrama, they move on with life. That’s what makes it feel refreshing. The pacing is smooth, the music is soothing, and Joy’s voice in the OST is a highlight. It’s not the kind of show that keeps you on the edge of your seat — it’s more like the cozy drama equivalent of a guilty pleasure. Except, we don’t even feel guilty about enjoying it. The   Liar   and   His   Lover official OST (Stone Entertainment) Dream High (2011) If you’ve been into K-dramas for a while, you already know this one is legendary. Dream High was a cultural moment. It’s the story of young students chasing K-pop stardom, filled with campy humor, a little cheesiness, and a lot of heart. Dream High official OST (KBS World) The cast was young, with many of them being idols just starting out. But that’s also what makes it work. Now they are all huge stars in the entertainment industry as the series has Bae Suzy , Kim Soo-hyun , Ok Taecyeon , Hahm Eun-jung , Jang Wooyoung , and Lee Ji-eun ( IU ). It feels like watching actual trainees trying to prove themselves, mirroring the storyline. The underdog energy is strong, and the characters grow in ways that stay with you. Fun fact: The actors sang most of their songs themselves, making it worth watching just for that. It's one of those dramas that still makes you smile and root for the characters, even years later. You’re Beautiful (2009) The classic band drama that shaped so many of the tropes we still see today. Watching it now, you’ll notice the flaws — messy storytelling, exaggerated characters — but it’s impossible not to be entertained. You're Beautiful official OST The debate over Tae Kyung versus Shin Woo still lingers among fans. Tae Kyung, played by Jang Keun-suk , may come off harsh at first, but his character growth feels much more natural and genuine. Shin Woo was sweet, yes, but his kindness always had the undertone of wanting to win the girl over. Tae Kyung’s moments, from protecting her identity to encouraging her music, felt real and selfless. What makes the drama so iconic, though, is how it set the stage for music-themed K-dramas that followed. And honestly, Jang Keun-suk’s performance alone makes it unforgettable. The Sound of Magic (2022) This drama is not the kind you watch for big twists or heavy action — it’s something that slowly pulls you in with its mix of fantasy, music, and quiet emotions. It almost feels like watching a stage play at times. The Sound of Magic official trailer (Netflix Korea) The songs linger even after they end, and Na Il-deung’s story feels the most real. If you’ve read the webtoon, you’ll notice some things didn’t carry over fully, but the performances still give it a certain charm. The ending may not hit everyone the same way, but the journey itself is what makes it worth watching. Persevere , Goo Hae Ra (2015) This drama is one of those underrated gems you either love or can’t stand. The music is emotional, the story has heart, and some performances will stay with you — especially the rain song. Clip from Persevere, Goo Hae Ra (Mnet) It's a slow-paced drama, and if you can look past the flaws, there are touching moments, and the music is still a highlight. It’s not for everyone, but if you like underdog music dramas, it might win you over. Page Turner (2016) For anyone who loves the beauty of music and the spark of youthful friendship, Page Turner  is a short but unforgettable drama. Starring Ji Soo , Kim So-hyun , and Shin Jae-ha , the story follows Yoon Yoo-seul, a piano prodigy whose world changes overnight after a tragic accident leaves her blind. What unfolds is an inspiring journey where music becomes more than just a career — it turns into a lifeline, a way of rediscovering herself, and a bridge to new relationships. Page Turner official trailer (KBS) Despite being only three episodes long, Page Turner  captures the emotional weight of an entire series. With heartfelt performances and a moving message about resilience, passion, and the bonds we create along the way, this gem of a drama leaves you thinking long after it ends. It’s the kind of story that proves you don’t always need a long runtime to make a lasting impact. Penthouse (2020–2021) If you're a fan of opera and revenge dramas, this one is for you. Penthouse is pure chaos, and that’s exactly why people love it. It’s dramatic, over-the-top, and packed with shocking twists — murder, betrayal, bullying, and secret identities. It’s not about subtle storytelling; it’s about keeping you glued to the screen, wondering what wild thing will happen next. Penthouse official OST (SBS) Penthouse is unapologetically designed to rile up your emotions. By season two, the whole power dynamic flips, and characters you once hated start to grow on you. If you’re looking for a thrilling rollercoaster ride rather than thoughtful storytelling, Penthouse delivers. Hospital Playlist (2020–2021) This drama is the definition of heartwarming. It follows five doctors who are longtime friends, and their bond is as much a part of the story as the hospital setting. It’s slow, wholesome, and charming, with music woven beautifully into the narrative. Hospital Playlist official trailer (tVN) What makes it so special is the ensemble cast. With so many characters, you’ll end up attached to at least one deeply. It's about everyday life, friendship, and healing. The romance is subtle, more of a background note than the main focus, but it adds warmth without overwhelming the story. It’s one of those dramas that feels like a hug and a cup of coffee.  Cheer Up (2022) Cheer Up captures youth in a way that feels nostalgic and bittersweet. At first, it might test your patience with its love triangle and mystery subplot, but stick with it. By the end, the cheer squad’s reunion scene is going to make you smile like never before.  Cheer Up official trailer (SBS) What really stands out is how much the cast seemed to enjoy making it. You can feel the bond between them, and it makes their performances so genuine. The drama also captures that confusing time of college — becoming an adult overnight, facing failures, learning, and still trying your best. The OST hits hard, the characters grow in real ways, and it’s one of those shows you might want to revisit someday just for the feels. Final thoughts Dramas based on music are not a new finding in the K-drama world. They have always been highlighting music as their primary ornament in the stories they tell. It's almost impossible not to check out the K-dramas' OSTs and search for the singers after watching any series. We have all been there, but seeing your idols’ journey and the characters who are devoted to music every day is a different kind of experience. And one of the best parts is that some of the OSTs were sung by the actors themselves. Music has always been an integral part of K-dramas and will always be.
