Girls' Generation has just made their latest comeback! They released a new song called "Forever 1" on August 5th! "FOREVER 1" is an energetic summer pop song all about loving their fans and being loyal to them no matter what. The song is their first song together in over 5 years and has already gotten over 9.3 million views! This comes out just in time for SM TOWN Live which is coming up! You can check out the single yourself down below! Despite the video doing so well, netizens have not been impressed with the overall comeback. Fans have complained that while the girls look good, this comeback seems lackluster for a long-awaited comeback. The song is more of a love letter to fans, one similar to Big Bang 's goodbye single released earlier this year. Girls Generation's single has the dance number and the pop beat, but it's as flashy or iconic as its earlier releases for sure. Notably, this is the first comeback since ex-member Jessica released her novel, Bright . Jessica's novel has been released as fiction, but most fans contribute its plot about an idol girl fighting with her group to become a Fashion designer as a way for Jessica to tell her story without legal issues. We're here to show you why you should ignore the ratings and focus on the story! *Contains Spoilers. 4/5 Stars The highly awaited legal/crime drama, Big Mouth , started with a light-hearted opening episode about an underperforming lawyer, Park Chang Ho (Lee Jong Suk), with a measly 10% win rate. He is called "Big Mouth" because he always talks before backing it up. He gets entangled in a murder case when he is mysteriously contacted by the mayor of Gucheon, Choi Do Ha ( Kim Joo Hun Juvenile Justice 2022). While working on the case given to him by Mayer Choi, Park Chang Ho is mistakenly framed for the notorious underground criminal known as "Big Mouse" as his office is raided by officials uncovering gold bars, drugs, and cash. Chang Ho is sent to Gucheon Prison, notorious for Korea's most violent offenders where he spends his first days surviving the local population and fighting for power in the prison hierarchy. Park Chang Ho's wife, Go Mi Ho ( Im Yoona Girls' Generation ), is a stubborn and determined nurse who loves him deeply. She vows to do whatever it takes to uncover why her husband has been framed along with her father, Go Gi Kwan ( Lee Ki Young Business Proposal 2022), his business partner. Meanwhile, in prison, Chang Ho is mistaken for "Big Mouse" by the other inmates who find out via the local news. His "street cred" is tested by local prison gangs and delinquents as he unearths the truth behind his incarceration. Although initial ratings seem low, we still highly recommend this drama! We feel that it has the potential to pick up in action and suspense as the story unfolds! During a time when legal/crime K-dramas are a dime a dozen, Big Mouth has a refreshing storyline with believable characters. We can't wait to see what happens next! The Han River is an iconic part of Seoul. Whether it is movies, dramas, music videos, or even Youtube videos, you can always see this river making an appearance. The river runs the city, dividing it up into its various districts. It essential for any visitor to come visit one of its parks that lies around its bends. It is a popular hang out spot for people young and old to camp, eat chicken and drink beer ( Chimek ), and exercise. But recently there has been new additions to the fun at the river! From July 29 to August 15th, there is the Han River Festival ! This is a celebration of the river with many activities to do for the two week period. One of the biggest attractions is the Han River Summer Music Picnic on the 29 and 30th. Its a two day concert series with classical and ballad performances at Yeouido Han River park. There is also various performances in August at the Floating Islands, a series of stationary islands in the river. There are various events like a fun fair for children and various vendors selling arts and crafts. There's even a couple movie nights! They will be showing various Korean movies at different parks in the city. There is so much to do and so much to see at this festival! After Covid restrictions in the city came to an end, there has been a resurgence of festivals in the city. And we can't wait until next week for more! The 16-episode series debuted with a 3.502% national viewership rating, good for 2nd, according to Nielsen Korea. Here's what we know so far! Ha Woo Shin and Song Soo Hyun ( Ji Sung The Devil Judge 2021) are identical brothers. Ha Woo Shin is a renowned novelist and receives a mysterious letter inviting him to be a ghostwriter for the chairman of Haesong Group, a conglomerate, Chairman Kwon ( Lee Kyoung Young Why Her 2022). Song Soo Hyun is a prosecutor who gets hassled by a very determined local reporter, Kim Seo Hee ( Lee Soo Kyung Law School 2021), who digs up new evidence about their father's death 22 years ago. Ha Woo Shin is invited to Chairman Kwon's estate where he is an honored guest but is constantly under the watchful eye of the Madam Butler of the house, Butler Kwon, who questions his motives after the first day he moves in. Although he has been invited to be the ghostwriter for Chairman Kwon's memoir, we learn that Woo Shin has an alternate motive, to steal the Adamas Arrow, the symbol of Haesong Group. The Adamas Arrow is said to be the most expensive arrow in the world tipped with a diamond and is suspected to be the murder weapon of Ha Woo Shin and Song Soo Hyun's father. Song Soo Hyun, on the other hand, deals with his own set of problems as he sets out to find the only witness to his father's death by visiting him only to find that the witness has lied about his testimony. Later that night, while watching the news, we find out that the witness has committed suicide due to the orders given by Haesong Group's Chairman's son, Kwon Hyun Zo. In the midst of all these twists and turns, we also find out that the Haesong Group's chief security officer, Choi Tae Sung ( Heo Sung Tae Insider 2022), is undercover for the police and is secretly watching Chairman Kwon. Ha Woo Shin and Choi Tae Sung strike up a deal. Woo Shin won't divulge Choi Tae Sung's secret and Choi Tae Sung will help Woo Shin get what he wants, the Adamas Arrow. At the end of episode 2, Eun Hye Soo ( Seo Ji Hye Kiss Sixth Sense 2022), the wife of Kwon Hyun Zo, tells Woo Jin that she heard her husband blabbering about how his father, Chairman Kwon, killed someone with the Adamas Arrow and sent Woo Jin the letter, while he was drunk. We're left at the end of episode 2 wanting more of this intense and thrilling drama! The mystery and intrigue of each character unveiled add to the intricate plot and complexity of the story. The 16-episode tvN drama is scheduled to broadcast on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 10:30 PM KST. Check out the trailer! The Adamas cast Ji Sung, Seo Ji Hye ( Crash Landing On You 2019 - 2020), and Lee Soo Kyung ( Law School 2021) held an online press conference on July 26 to discuss the drama and their characters. Director Park Seung Woo explained why Adamas is more than just one genre: “We have been saying it’s an investigation drama, but can we describe it in one word? I thought a lot about this at the start. It’s hard to explain a drama with one expression. If I say it’s a mystery thriller, there’s also a side of powerful action. If I consider it action, there are also noir aspects. It feels like a mix of various genres. It’s hard to describe this aspect. I wonder if it isn’t even a genre drama.” Ji Sung plays duo roles as identical twin brothers Ha Woo Shin, an author, and Song Soo Hyun, a special forces prosecutor working at the Central District Prosecutor's office. Ji Sung explains his approach to his roles in Adamas, “The two people have the same start. As they’re similar, there were a lot of difficult aspects as I tried to emphasize the portrayal of their subtle differences.” Seo Ji Hye plays the role of Eun Hye Soo, the daughter-in-law of Haesong Group's CEO. She revealed the challenges in her new role. “I wondered how to portray the complicated emotions of whether [Eun Hye Soo] will aid Woo Shin and what kind of character she will be. That’s our greatest difference.” Finally, veteran actor, Heo Sung Tae, commented on his character, Choi Tae Sung, a general security manager for Haesongwon, the residence of Haesong Group's chairman, “In real life, I have no charisma. When I’m acting, I have to play powerful roles so there are some aspects that make me cringe. Out of all the roles I’ve done, the general security manager is my most sophisticated role.
