Our dashing sunglasses-wearing taxi-driving hero Kim Do Ki ( Lee Je Hoon Move to Heaven 2021) returns from the dead on the latest episodes of Taxi Driver 2 ! Episode 11 starts off with our "Taxi Squad" in tears as they follow our hero, Kim Do Ki, signing off as usual after solving every case. But on this night, something's not right. Do Ki's taxi stops responding to his controls and communications have been compromised! Our "Taxi Squad" only witnessed the taxi blowing up in the middle of the street but didn't see Do Ki jumping out at the last second. Pyo Ye Jin (Ahn Go Eun) is a tremendous actress as she pulls off crying her eyes out at Do Ki's pretended funeral. It turns out that our heroic team has been compromised by none other than our vicious villain, On Ha Joon ! It seems that the team has been suspicious of his activities ever since the day he joined the taxi club and even has the police department under his finger. Our "Taxi Squad" traces the suspects back to a mysterious club called "Black Sun" where Kim Do Ki witnesses a reporter, Kim Yong Min ( Baek Soo Jang The Good Detective 2 2022), getting beaten up by the club's bouncers. Do Ki rescues the reporter with a few good jabs to the two bouncers knocking them out. It seems that Kim Yong Min has been recording himself getting beat up by the club in order to cut a deal. Meanwhile, our evil villain On Ha Joon (Shin Jae Ha) is planning something to get revenge on the "Taxi Squad", but he receives an order from someone called the "Bishop" to stop what he is doing and continue with his "work". He meets another evil boss at Club Black Sun named CEO Yang ( Yoo Ji Yeon Doctor Lawyer 2022). It seems that CEO Yang is just as evil as Ha Joon as the two play a "game" of beating up the security guards. While that is going on, Kim Do Ki has disguised himself as one of the security guards and volunteers to drive a drunk girl to a secret location, ordered by the club boss. While driving, he is tailed by the reporter, Kim Yong Min, and actually saves his life as Yong Min tries to take his revenge on the security guards without knowing Do Ki is the one driving the car. As Do Ki and Yong Min meet, Yong Min spills his secret that the reason why he is holding a grudge against Club Black Sun is that he had befriended a police detective a while ago who tried to uncover the secret dealings of the club, but was found dead before uncovering the truth. This week's episodes proved to be a harder case to solve for the "Taxi squad" as they took on real estate mogul Kang Pil Seung ( Kim Do Yoon Adamas 2022). Pil Seung created a housing scam that took advantage of desperate couples wanting to own their own homes. He even created fake family photos of orphans, which he conned into guardianship. In a heart-wrenching episode, we see young children being treated like prisoners to serve the needs of this pitiful businessman. That's when our "Taxi squad" comes in to save the day! Kim Do Ki ( Lee Je Hoon ) and Ahn Go Eun ( Pyo Ye Jin Hotel Del Luna 2019) pose as an undercover married couple to get the attention of Kang Pil Seung. They eventually win his curiosity as he takes them through his scam of taking in orphans and pretending to be their parents. Meanwhile, an adorable 8-year-old Hwang Seo Yeon ( Ahn Chae Heum ), has escaped her captors and finds her way to the Rainbow Taxi Service. Seo Yeon wins the hearts of our team and gives them hope as they solve this complex case! As Do Ki beats Pil Seung to a pulp and sends him packing, literally on the streets, we find out there is a much bigger villain that our team needs to be worried about! It is no other than the handsome newbie taxi driver On Ha Joon ( Shin Jae Ha Crash Course in Romance 2023)! It seems that throughout the previous episodes, Ha Joon was introduced at the end of episode 2, that he has been snooping around the "Taxi squad's" headquarters. We finally see the true self as Ha Joon waltzes into a huge mansion and suits up! At the end of episode 6, we see Ha Joon giving Pil Seung a visit on the street as he grabs him by the hair and asks Pil Seung to explain in detail what happened between him and our "taxi driver". According to Nielsen Korea, the MBC show beat out rival survival show "Boys Planet" with 0.6% of the national viewership just edging out its competition of 0.3%! Much like the format from the first episode of Produce 101 (2017), 55 boy trainees compete for the final 12 members of a debut group. Here are our top 5 most memorable moments for the premiere! 5. Nam Jin Myung and Kang Dae Hyeon battle it out to see who's the manliest. “Let’s open our wings to fly away together,” sang Dreamcatcher ’s SuA last week at the final stop of the group’s nine-stop REASON: MAKES tour in Los Angeles. The line rang true to many of the near-capacity crowd, but much so for Jessica H., a self-proclaimed hardcore InSomnia [Dreamcatcher’s fandom] who camped for nearly 30 hours to ensure she was one of the first into the venue. “Dreamcatcher really saved me,” she said, “It sounds cliché, but during the pandemic, their music and their videos bought me out of a really dark place. Despite surviving an exhausting compressed tour schedule, each member of the group executed the exhausting and crisp choreography of their first two songs: the 2017 debut single "Chase Me" and then 2019’s "You and I." “Did you know that L.A. is a very special city for Dreamcatcher?,” asked the group’s leader JiU during a quick break between songs. “L.A. is also the very first city where we ever did a concert in the U.S.” “I think that’s why I’ve been looking forward to today more and more,” rapper DaMi quickly followed. Other members of the group [main dancer SuA, main vocal SiYeon , sub vocalist HanDong , lead vocalist YooHyeon , and maknae GaHyeon ] also agreed immediately before launching into their next set of guitar-driven songs: "What", "Scream", "The Curse of the Spider" and "Diamond." Older Insomnia was rewarded as the group pulled out “And there was no one left,” a sultry vocal number from their 2019 mini album "The End of Nightmare" that had the crowd shimmying back and forth. The group then breathlessly performed two ballads, "Emotion" and "Polaris." In yet another callback to previous tours, JiU directed to crowd to wave and lift their synched lightsticks in unison, using the same motions from their 2019 U.S. tour. To much of the crowd’s delight (and much to the group’s chagrin), the group performed "Love Shake", the debut title track of Dreamcatcher’s previous iteration, "MINX". While HanDong and GaHyeon love performing the song and did so with smiles and overexaggerated movements, the original members of MINX, especially Dami , rather hide than perform the catchy 2015 song ever again. After shaking off the momentary embarrassment, Dreamcatcher performed songs for their latest album "Apocalypse: Follow Us." In "Some Love", the group preached self-acceptance with the line “Believe in who you are…. We all need some love.” The group continued with the same theme of self-love with their next song, "Fairytale", which asked listeners to “We’re heading for a surprise; follow your heart, we’re living in a fairytale.” Every Insomnia in the group took those words to heart and followed every note and beat to their next few songs, "Sahara", "Wind Blows", "Vision" and "Boca." Yet, everyone’s reverie was broken apart by the loud, EDM-focused "Silent Night." Dreamcatcher repeated the finale of "Silent Night" three times, converting the scene from a K-rock concert into an impromptu nightclub while the group’s main dancer SuA screamed, “I’m fine!” The group then finished its main set with fan service versions of "Mayday" and "New Days." Yet, InSomnia knew that Dreamcatcher’s performance was soon to come to an end as the group went backstage to quickly change into their encore outfits. They returned to perform favorites "Full Moon" and "Over the Sky" before saying their final goodbyes with their latest comeback and fan song "Reason." “We’re always with InSomnia,” the group sang, “We can spend more time together… ‘cause you are the reason.” Many in the room, including Jessica, shed tears of joy as the group left. “Those 30 hours were worth it,” she said as she prepared to queue up for the after concert hi-touch session with the group, “They mean so much to me.” Dreamcatcher returned to Korea after this show, but many Insomnia in the U.S. and worldwide yearn for their return. With an expected comeback in May, it might not be long until the public gets to see Dreamcatcher back on stage.
