We give you all the details! Hwang Jung Eum , a popular actress known for her remarkable performances, is now making headlines for filing for divorce from her husband Lee Young Don for the second time. The couple's rocky relationship has raised questions about their eight-year journey together and who may be at fault. In this article, we delve into the details of their whirlwind romance, the challenges they faced, and the actress's outspoken nature that has drawn both admiration and criticism. A Speedy Romance and Surprising Marriage Hwang Jung Eum and Lee Young Don tied the knot in 2016 after only six months of publicly dating. Lee, a businessman and former professional golfer, had an impressive background that garnered attention, particularly from the ladies. The couple's relationship attracted significant public interest, as they openly displayed affection and showed no reservations about their love. Many were taken aback by their decision to marry after such a short courtship. It was later revealed that they had been dating for several months before their public announcement, although still a relatively brief period to make a lifelong commitment. In 2016, after their marriage, on July 30’s episode of “Entertainment Weekly,” actress Hwang Jung Eum talks about her relationship with her new husband and her hopes for their future. When she was asked how many kids she’d like to have, Hwang Jung Eum replied: “Four? Right now I want to enjoy being newlyweds, but I want to have four kids later.” They officially exchanged vows in 2016 and welcomed their first child in 2017. Actress Hwang Jung Eum radiates joy and elegance in her white dress, as she playfully enjoys a memorable photoshoot with her friends, capturing the essence of her pregnancy and the anticipation of becoming a first-time mother She came back for her children What surprised many was the swiftness of their relationship, especially considering that Hwang Jung Eum had recently ended a long-term relationship with musician Kim Young Jun before her marriage with Lee Young Don. Despite their apparent happiness after their marriage, the couple encountered significant challenges. In September 2020, Hwang filed for divorce, but the couple sought reconciliation through mediation and ultimately reunited in July 2021 after discovering she was pregnant with their second child. In 2022, they celebrated the birth of their second son. Actress Hwang Jung Eum shared her first glimpse of her second son on Instagram, expressing her happiness and joy in becoming a mother of two. The heartwarming photos showcase her bond with her newborn and her joyful moments of rest and affection. In 2022, Actress Hwang Jung Eum took to social media about herself and her children In 2022, Hwang Jung Eum was known as a married talented actress and mother of two. She was captured enjoying a family moment at a restaurant. Despite her busy life, she maintains her stunning appearance and elegance, showcasing her goddess-like visuals even with minimal makeup. Her choice of luxurious accessories adds to her overall grace and charm. It became her biggest regret in life She made an appearance as a guest on the talk show My Little Old Boy , which aired on SBS and showcases the lives of middle-aged unmarried celebrities. During the episode, Hwang Jung Eum extensively discussed the complex history of her relationship with Lee Young Don. Notably, in 2020, the actress famously sent press releases to Korean media, publicly declaring her intention to file for divorce after being married for three years. “I married my husband after dating for 10 months, and now we have been married for eight years. At the time, I was blinded by love and everything about him seemed so cool,” she said, as translated by Koreaboo. “But now, I don’t find him to be handsome as I once did when we were dating and my heart no longer flutters.” In addition, she shared with the show's hosts: “Marriage is my life’s biggest regret. Isn’t it interesting that I like nothing about him?” Hwang also added that these contemptuous feelings were also being reciprocated to some extent by Lee, who she claimed called her “demon doll”, a twist on his original affectionate nickname, "doll." The 38-year-old actress also addressed her public divorce announcement in 2020: “I told my parents a day before news outlets reported the divorce. I revealed the news in my family’s group chat.” Despite informing her family, she was shocked to see that her parents were only concerned about her husband. Allegations and social media drama While the couple maintained secrecy around the details of their divorce, media outlets dug deep and allegedly contacted a source close to Hwang Jung Eum, who claimed that Lee Young Don was responsible for the deterioration of their relationship. The specific reasons, however, were not disclosed. Hwang took matters into her own hands by posting a picture of her husband with their child on Instagram. In the caption, she made a seemingly sarcastic remark about his behavior during their marriage, implying that he may have been preoccupied with other matters. According to Koreaboo, the translation was this : "My loving husband is so beautiful. This is my husband, Lee Young Don, who has been so busy enjoying himself since getting married to me. You’ve been so busy until now, now just enjoy yourself comfortably". Moreover, she confirmed her husband's infidelity in the comment section, suggesting a troubled relationship. She surprisingly interacted with some netizens on social media and it raised eyebrows. And she responded to malicious netizens who defend her husband. Responding to a comment, she cryptically remarked, "If I remember, I think he dated like 400 people". Photo captured by: K-Sélection On February 23, a netizen commented on Hwang Jung Eum's latest post about her husband : “I understand Young-don. Honestly, if you have abilities and money, you won't stay faithful to just one woman. If you can't understand that someone is unfaithful when they're rich, then you shouldn't date them lol “ Hwang Jung-eum replied: “You should read a book or go make yourself some money. I earn money a thousand times more than he does, so stop playing around with me thinking you know everything about money.. What do you know to talk like that? According to your logic, since I make more money and I'm more successful than him, it’s right for me to cheat on him, right? If it were up to you, haha.” Hwang Jung Eum candidly discussed her experience of being unaware of her partner's infidelity and emphasized that sometimes in life, we might not know the truth until we encounter it: “How do you know that the person you are dating is unfaithful? I didn't know, so I went out with him. That's life…… " She also playfully questioned this internet user about their identity, referring to her husband Young-don, showcasing her ability to handle difficult situations with humor and resilience: “Are you Young-don??ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ”, (the name of her husband) When another user commented: “Young-don should have fun too” Hwang Jung-eum replied: “I hope he enjoys it even after the divorce~”. Another user commented: “As expected, Jung-eum doesn’t hold back! Show your true colors and keep bothering your ex-husband until the end” To which Hwang Jung Eum replied: “I held back once~ This is the first time I’ve ever held back something since I was born.” Netizen: “Your husband seems to be very busy 🤣” Hwang Jung Eum: “He’s been busy ever since getting married..” The netizen playfully points out the husband's busy schedule after marriage, to which Hwang Jung Eum humorously agrees, indicating that his workload (cheating) has increased since their union. An another netizen commented: “So this is what he looks like..” Hwang Jung Eum responded: “He looks like someone you’d have a hard time remembering..” “If I remember, I think he dated like 400 people.” Hwang Jung Eum responded to this netizen's comment about her husband's personality, suggesting he is not easily memorable and humorously mentioning that she believes he has dated numerous people in the past. Hwang Jung Eum's supporters grew in number after she addressed her haters and critics, as they gained insight into the unfortunate circumstances surrounding her divorce. People sympathized with her situation, and her husband's infidelity made it easier for them to stand by her side and offer encouragement. The divorce announcement Now, Hwang Jung Eum's agency, Y1 Entertainment , released an official statement confirming the divorce filing. This is actress Hwang Jung Eum’s agency Y1 Entertainment. - The ultimate Korean comfort food, ramyeon, and why it went viral! Plus, our favorite types and brands!
When you hear the phrase "Korean food" there might be one food that comes to mind, kimchi, However, ramen or ramyeon in Korea, is a staple in the Korean diet and is a must-try! There's a good reason why this Korean comfort food is taking over social media! We break down why this classic is a sensation and why it has hit the Western market like a storm! Aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, versatile, and convenient, it's no wonder that Koreans love ramyeon! We can all agree that social media has been hyping up this instant noodle classic especially with the self-serve ramyeon library or convenience stores! Living in South Korea for the past few years, I can safely say that Korean instant noodles have have become a staple in part of my weekly meals. Of course, there are a number of good ones and you have to make sure that you prepare them as recommended. Recently, Korean food has gained lots of attention, especially in the Western market! Let's take a look why! Now, while ramyeon can be a quick grab and go meal, you can prepare it at most convenience stores in Korea, which is why it has become a staple in a Korean diet. Although, it is not a health food, you can add vegetables into it, or eggs which I often do. This makes this off the shelf food, so much more! And the flavor packs a punch too! There are so many different brands of ramyeon, that I have't had the chance to try them all. But of course we can't leave you empty handed! Here's our list of our favorite Korean ramyeon brands and flavors! Our favorites! Now this is probably the most famous of all Korean ramyeons, and I understand why! Nongshim’s Shin Ramyun is well known around the world so it’s usually one of the easier ones to find in local markets and online. This isn’t considered one of the spiciest options to most Koreans. If you’ve never had it or aren’t used to Korean spices, it will be a bit spicy that first time. At least it was to me. But it has since grown on me, and I buy it often! My second favourite ramen is Jin Ramen, which tastes very similar to Shin Ramyun except it has a more red pepper taste. This one also has some variety though the one with the blue is the more common one. If you like spice then I would suggest to try the red option. The broth for Jin Ramen is a beef and kimchi flavor so hits the spot when you’re missing Korea! In general, most people agree that Jin Ramen is relatively more mild than other ramyeon brands so it’s a good option for those that aren’t used to the spice and want an introduction. These two brands are our favorites and we definitely recommend for you to try them! Not only is Korean ramyeon convenient and tasty, but you can always "dress it up" to make it more of a meal! Koreans tend to add spam, tofu, dumplings, and green onions to add more flavor. If you really want to go all-out and make it a meal, add some cheese (to make the broth creamier) and crack a raw egg (you can choose to fry an egg as well) into it! "Dry" ramyeon There are also numerous types of "dry" ramyeon as well. These instant noodles require you to boil the noodles in water and then drain it afterwards. You then add the sauce packet, mix, and enjoy! Our favorite "dry" ramyeons would have to be Nongshim Japagetti and Ottogi Mac and Cheese! The Chapaghetti stands for a mix of jjajangmyeon (Korean style black bean noodles) and spaghetti. The Ottogi Mac and Cheese has a little bit of a spicy kick to it, but if you really want to kick up the spice level up a notch, try the Buldak version! Let us know in the comments below what your favorite Korean ramyeon and how you like to make it! #koreanfoodie #koreanramen #ramen #ramyeon #ramyun #shinramyun #jinramen
- The creators of "Physical: 100" unveil the story behind Season 2 — "Underground"!
The number 1 hit Korean reality show Physical 100 is back for another round! After taking a look at the new cast, the writers and producers of the show's second season, named Physical: 100 — Underground gave their insights on the second season's contestant criteria and the story behind the games! Netflix is going above and beyond in the second season of Physical: 100 as the new series will be focused on an underground min theme! The first season was seen with 100 contestants rising above with a Greek Pantheon theme, but this time will be the total opposite! The show's writer, Kang Kyung Sook, and producers, Jang Ho Ki and Lee Jong Il attended a press conference on March 14, 2024, explaining the challenges of creating a more fair and entertaining show. Although the show topped Netflix's global non-English series and ranked in the top 10 in 82 countries, it was not without controversy. Because of the competitive nature of the show, how the contestants were screened in the first season was the center of controversy. This time the producers were well aware of the stakes and took extreme measures to ensure that confidentiality and fairness safety were a priority. Producer Jang Ho Ki explained, "We have prepared more thoroughly than last season 1 to ensure safety and fairness." "There has been no manipulation or reversal of the contents of the game in order to make a particular performer a winner. However, considering the related suspicions and raising of issues, there is a part where the recording was not completely prepared," he admitted. "Since it is important not to cause unexpected situations, we have recruited more than 10 simulations and judges to conduct the quest. We have prepared professional interpretations and various manuals without simply verbal consultation," As for the verification of the cast, Jang Ho Ki said, "As a Netflix original series, I think Korean entertainment programs go through the strictest verification process that can be done within the boundaries of the law." "Of course, we are not a legal institution, but we have gone through various processes. This time, we have created an environment where all the cast members can consult comfortably in case of problems by matching psychiatrists," he stressed. Physical: 100 — Underground will see an increase in female participants as women will be representing 25% of the cast! As for the story behind the games, writer Kang Kyung Sook described the set as an "Underground Mine in the 1950s and 1960s". He continued by describing the design process saying, "I wrote the background and quest while imagining the movie." Author Kang emphasized the immersion of storytelling, saying, "It is a story about 100 people with the best physicality competing in underground mines in a dystopia where the ground is ruined and rebuilding a new world." Season 2 promises to bring the set to life even better than the first season as the production crew aimed to "wow" both participants and viewers with the sheer overwhelming scale of the set. Producer Lee Jong Il tried to describe the massive size of the "battling site" saying, "The railroad laid on the underground mine truck push is a work of searching for actual workers." The size of the filming site in season 2 was like three soccer fields, and the explanation that 300 tons of sand were moved by more than 60 dump trucks also suggests the scale! As the scale of the event has evolved, so have the participants. Season 1 featured 11% of former national athletes whereas Season 2 will feature three times more at 30%! Wow! With better sets and a higher degree of competition, we can't wait to see what Physical 100 — Underground will bring! Physical: 100 — Underground premieres on March 19 on Netflix. The 100 contestants have a chance to win 300 million won ( US$227,700). Comment below if you'll be watching this hot series and who is your favorite contestant to win it all! Be sure to read our article on who will be participating in Season 2 here ! Source: 1 #physical100 #physical100underground #realityseries #realityshow

- K-FOOD goes global! The modest Gimbap becomes an unlikely global sensation!
Now if you have ever been to Korea, you will know that gimbap is a daily staple for many Koreans. Gimbap , which is a rice roll wrapped in seaweed, is poised to be the newest K-food sensation, despite its humble origins and misleading label as "Korean sushi". Read on to find out why it is trending globally! In the US an arrival at Trader Joe's $3.99 "Kimbap," a transliterate of gimbap, triggered viral contents linked with the food, prompting its Korean vendor to pump up its production. Also, in the UK, supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco, and Sainsbury's have started rolling out their own version of gimbap, following a rise in interest relating to Korean food. In Korea, gimbap is often served as a quick meal for its bite-size pieces, affordable price, and easy access. The rice rolls were primarily reserved for picnics and school outings before gimbap franchises became popular. For me, having lived in Korea for a while, gimbap has for sure become my go-to lunchtime food, as it is readily available, almost an Asian version of the British sandwich. Having traveled back to the UK recently, I noticed the amount of Korean food on the shelves, including gimbap which surprised me. The Korean wave in the UK and the US will have had an impact on people wanting to try Korean food. I believe that the gimbap introduction from UK supermarkets and Trader Joe's will be a great success! Let us know in the comments if you have ever tried gimbap, and which type is your favorite! #gimbap #kimbap #koreanfood #lunchtime #koreanfoods
- Netflix's K-drama “Chicken Nugget” cast is confirmed, but is met with controversy!
Netflix ‘s controversial new K-drama Chicken Nugget will soon premiere, and its all-star cast will not leave fans disappointed! We break down all the cast members you need to know and why netizens are concerned! Read on to find out more! It had been speculated previously, that the 10-part mystery/comedy series, is about a father who tries to bring his daughter back to life after she transforms into a piece of "fried chicken", hence the title "Chicken Nugget". Chicken Nugget is based on Park Ji Dok ‘s webtoon Dak Gang Geong ( Sweet & Sour Chicken ), released in 2019. It stars Kim Yoo Jung (also known as Kim You Jung , who previously starred in My Demon , The 8th Night, and 20th Century Girl ) as Choi Min Ah, Ryu Seung Ryong ( Moving , Kingdom , and Miracle in Cell No. 7 ) as Choi Sun Man, and Ahn Jae Hong ( Kingdom, Be Melodramatic, and Fight For My Way ) as Ko Baek Joong. Which is an all-star lineup for K-drama lovers globally! I personally cannot wait for this series to start on March 15th, 2024! I think the mystery and creativity behind the story is amazing! However, the most shocking cameo comes from the fact that netizens believed this actor to have a starring role. The male leads explained that while Kim Yoo Jung plays the character for which the story revolves, she doesn’t appear in every episode since she’s turned into a chicken nugget. "Even actress Kim Yoo Jung, who starred as my daughter, wasn’t featured in that many episodes. Even so, her presence in the drama is quite dominating all throughout. We were practically dancing when she first accepted the offer." — Ryu Seung Ryong So what are your thoughts about Kim Yoo Jung's appearance in the drama? Let us know in the comments below if you will be tuning in to watch this new series! #chickennugget #chickennuggetkdrama #kimyoujung #ryuseungryong #ahnjaehong
- K-dramas for foodies! The best dramas with a culinary backdrop! [Part 1]
Calling all FOODIES and lovers of K-drama! The idea for this article came to me when I suddenly noticed that a lot of my favorite K-dramas have a restaurant setting or are almost always related to food! The drama may not be directly about food but the background or setting usually involves the main characters surrounded by comforting food ! Here are some culinary K-dramas that warm the heart (and stomach) for you! Oh My Ghost (2015) Oh My Ghost is a fantasy/crime/romance K-drama that revolves around the life of (yes you guessed it) a ghost! The premise of the K-drama is the ghost of a young girl named Shin Soo Ae ( Kim Seul Gi ) who believes that she is roaming the earth without passing on after death because she was a virgin when she died. The main characters of this drama work in a restaurant setting and so did the Soo Ae when she was alive. This restaurant appears to be an Italian-style fusion restaurant and has a warm and cozy feeling to it with the addition of other comedic cast members as chefs. Soo Ae's previous restaurant was a family restaurant which she ran and worked alongside her dad and brother. Starring Park Bo Young and Jo Jung Suk , this drama does not fail to entertain! When the Camelia Blooms (2018) Our next foodie drama choice is one of the warmest dramas I've ever watched. Set in the fictional town of Ongsan, the main characters are a single mother and restaurant owner named Dong Baek ( Gong Hyo Jin ) and a police officer, Hwang Yong Shik ( Kang Ha Neul ). This drama is also one that offers comfort with a culinary background. The main character runs a bar/restaurant called the "Camelia" and kindness and good memories often accompany the food shown in this drama. The police officer's mother Deok Soon ( Go Doo Shim ) also runs a crab restaurant and she feeds Dongbaek's child on many occasions as a form of love and kindness. Feeding those around you and those in need is indeed a form of love and therapy! Mystic Pop-Up Bar (2020) This drama sets its tone in a fantasy setting in Seoul, with the main character, Weol Ju having lived 500 years of life due to a curse as a consequence of what she had done in her previous life. To overcome this punishment she must save a total of 100,000 souls and this is often done at her pojangmacha (food tent). She serves customers delicious meals, accompanied by soju and a special drink she makes them consume to fall asleep so she can go into their dreams and resolve any problems they have. It's also set in a big supermarket here in Korea so lots and lots of food! K-dramas often depict people eating or have an emphasis on food, I think it's because of the significance food has here in Korea. Food is care, it's love, it's sharing special moments with loved ones. Food can also be healing . You can see this also in the way food is shown in documentaries , drinking broth can be a restorative and life-changing experience in that moment. There's definitely a historical significance that is deep within Korean culture as well. It's almost holy, a sacred time of the day for some and we love that! Do you also love food like we do? How cool is it that we see it often in K-Drama? What do you think about its special symbolism in dramas? Comment below with your thoughts! #food #kdrama #korea #koreanfood #foodislife #southkorea #dramafood #love
