Why This Comeback Is a Big Deal
I.O.I celebrates its 10th anniversary after a brief run together from its formation in 2016 to 2017. The 11 Produce 101 winners out of 101 contestants took the world by storm with 6 singles, including two ("Whatta Man (Good Man)" and "Very Very Very"), that reached the U.S./World charts at #9 and #4 respectively.
After a long 9-year hiatus, a popular group will rarely reunite (almost fully) in K-pop. Here are the members who will return for the 10th anniversary:

What Does Loop Symbolize? Album Concept
I.O.I's new mini-album, Loop, is the third mini-album to be released by the group. It symbolizes "continuity, reconnection, and 'story starting again'", very appropriate for the group's own story. It also symbolizes the cyclical careers that many K-pop idols experience, as many return to their "roots" after years of solo enterprises. Examples of this would be Chungha and Seon Jomi's solo careers, propelled after I.O.I's disbandment in 2017.

Members: Who’s Back (and Who’s Missing)
After 9 years, many fans are expecting a full group reunion; unfortunately, only nine of the members will be returning. Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong will be absent due to schedule conflicts.
The Tour: More Than Just a Comeback
The 2026 I.O.I Concert Tour: Loop will start with a Seoul performance at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium on May 29, 30, and 31 and will continue in Bangkok and Hong Kong.
This comeback isn't just "digital", it breathes nostalgia and brings a global fan connection. Second and third generation K-pop fans can reconnect with I.O.I, and newer/younger fans are able to rediscover their music and impact. I.O.I serves as a blueprint for other K-pop survival group shows (Wanna One, IZ*ONE, etc.). Fans can expect their bright, bubbly signature sound with a slight mature evolution of their style.
